Finally, perhaps we should ALL learn to deal with criticism the way our President handles it.
Scroll down to the last pic on Tumblr and look at our beautiful First Lady's body language being around that group of formers. Think she doesn't know the truth about everything???
There's some excellent photos at the Obama Diary. Clearly both President and First Lady Obama had a genuinely good time. I'm impressed with Whitehouse.org. It shows the sheer volume of work the President accomplishes each week, knowing he's at the helm and doing such a good job for us, our society, our country and most importantly our kids is something that speaks volumes about this man's character. He finessed the WHCD and made it look so easy. It's a difficult speech, a lot of presidents look like deer caught in the headlights or like they're spouting off some speechwriter's words. You can tell Potus did his own speech.
Is that President Obama's way of saying that all of the rude name calling, coming from Sarah and her fans, along with the Folks at Fox doesn't bother him? I have heard Hannity refer to President Obama as "The Anointed One." That's infantile. Palin and her pals show the same disrespect. Nice to see that he just brushes it off. In his world, there are more important things to deal with.

The man has so much on his shoulders - especially w/the likes of McCain etc. calling for war!!! I love the fact that President Obama is smart, methodical, calm, cool, etc. in all of his research. I turned to a news channel tonight and immediately turned it off when I saw Republicans trying to dictate what President Obama should do.
Anybody remember the movie "The American President"? While, perhaps, not the best film of its type in history, I adored the final political scene when the President FINALLY decided to slap a few people who desperately needed it - publicly and loudly in a speech to the press.
While I greatly admire the real POTUS greatly for his poise and control, I am still looking forward to him slapping a few people - publicly and loudly.
You can imagine what strong, confident, solid women his girls will turn out to be. They'll stand up for what's right, they'll stand their ground, but they'll do it with intelligence and humor. He's demonstrating for all of us how to raise children who will give, who will work, and who will love. Very few Presidential children end up this way -- most are spoiled, entitled, angry or dysfunctional. The President is teaching the country how important it is, in all the hurry and business of life, to provide a safe and balanced home for our children. It's turned out to be one of his most important jobs.

I agree with most of your post very much, but I don't understand this remark. It seems to me that most First Kids at least from Eisenhower on have gone on to reasonable adult lives with gainful education and/or employment, from living lives in a very difficult fishbowl.
The Reagan children may be the exception to some degree, though Patty has settled down and reconciled with her mother. Michael Reagan is a right wing blowhard and has been estranged from the family, but he didn't grow up in the White House and other than that I can't think of any "problem" children of the various Presidents, republican or Democrat. The Bush twins were teenagers with a despised father while in the WH and acted out accordingly, but both have settled down to stable, educated, productive adulthood so far as I have read. Dubya and Jeb were long since adults when Bush Sr was elected president.
