Pakistani Taliban:"Wherever we find Americans we will kill them, but we don't have any connection with the Boston Explosions." Update!

"Dear Boston: Sorry for your losses. Your losses are ours, too." - Muslim Peacemaker Teams in Najaf, Iraq

Courtesy of CNN:

The Pakistani Taliban denied any involvement in a double bombing at the Boston Marathon that killed at least three people, spokesman Ihsanullah Ihsan said Wednesday.

"Wherever we find Americans we will kill them, but we don't have any connection with the Boston Explosions," Ihsan said.

The Pakistani Taliban claimed responsibility for the Times Square bombing in 2010.

Thus far it seems that nobody has taken responsibility for the attacks, which is unusual for Islamic terrorist groups.

Also the injured Saudi that was originally identified as a "suspect" by certain irresponsible media outlets, and gave rise to the idea that this attack was the work of Muslim extremists, has turned out to be nothing of the sort.

This courtesy of the Washington Post:

U.S. law enforcement officials said Tuesday that a Saudi national injured in the Boston Marathon bombing is regarded as a witness, not a suspect.

The Saudi, who is recuperating at a Boston hospital, is in his 20s and is in the United States on a Saudi scholarship to study at a university in the Boston area.

The federal officials’ explanation echoed comments by a Saudi official at the country’s embassy in Washington. The embassy official said that a Saudi national has been questioned as a witness but is not regarded as a suspect. The Saudi official cited information provided to the embassy by U.S. law enforcement officials.

I am not going to say that any of this indicates that there is no possibility that the attacks were not the work of Islamic terrorists, but but as time goes on it seems less and less likely.

I have noticed a rather interesting dichotomy  between the Left and Right media right now.

On the Left many pundits have seemed to focus more on the possibility that this was the work of domestic terrorists, possibly White Supremacists or anti-tax sovereign citizen groups.

However on the Right they seem to be working overtime to suggest that this HAD to have been the work of some Islamic group hell bent on the destruction of America. And some have even gone so far as to blame President Obama as well.

Like I said, I really do not have enough information to form a strong opinion, however I think that when we DO find the perpetrators one side is going to go on the attack, and the other is going to become very defensive.

And I find that very interesting. And not a little troubling.

Update: This is happening now:

A suspect in the Boston Marathon bombings was taken into custody Wednesday in a breakthrough that came less than 48 hours after the deadly attack, a law enforcement official briefed on the investigation said Wednesday.

The official spoke shortly after several media outlets reported that a suspect had been identified from surveillance video taken at a Lord & Taylor store between the sites of the two bomb blasts, which killed three people and wounded more than 170.

The official was not authorized to divulge details of the investigation and spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity. The suspect was expected at a Boston courthouse, the official said.

A news briefing was scheduled later Wednesday.

So we should know sometime today.

Batten down the hatches kids, this is going to get ugly.

Update 2: Oops now some new outlets are walking back reports of an arrest.

Hoo boy!

Update 3: The FBI just sent this out:

Contrary to widespread reporting, no arrest has been made in connection with the Boston Marathon attack. Over the past day and a half, there have been a number of press reports based on information from unofficial sources that has been inaccurate. Since these stories often have unintended consequences, we ask the media, particularly at this early stage of the investigation, to exercise caution and attempt to verify information through appropriate official channels before reporting.

I don't think they are very happy.

It's comical that an irresponsible, biased blogger who ignores truth to push his lies calls others irresponsible in the media.

Honestly, this is a time when opinion sites and the average Joe blogging could be detrimental. That doesn't mean average Joes hold any media power and the fact that people scoff at the blogosphere as being purely for gossip and dregs of society gives me hope. HOWEVER, all it takes is for one person to come across a random article somewhere and run with it regardless of veracity.

This country has seen bloggers use their personal biases and create stories from nothing for irrational reason and this blog is no exception.

It's sad when this country, one of the few where EVERYONE is treated as human, doesn't respect each other as fellow brothers and sisters, regardless of politics. There's zero respect anymore. When you attack, you attack each person your victim loves and who loves said victim.
How would you feel if strangers spread lies about YOU?

No one remembers the loved ones when they choose to shoot their mouths off. And it's all for stupid political reasons, to make you feel better about your mundane lives filled with regret.

An official briefed on the Boston Marathon bombing investigation said today that authorities have an image of a suspect carrying, and perhaps dropping, a black bag at the second bombing scene on Boylston Street, outside of the Forum restaurant.

Investigators are “very close” in the investigation, said the official, who declined to be named.

That official said authorities may publicize their finding as early as this afternoon.

The same official also said a surveillance camera at Lord & Taylor, located directly across the street, has provided clear video of the area, though it was unclear whether the image of the suspect was taken from that camera.

Authorities planned to brief the media on the progress of the investigation at 5 p.m. today.

“The camera from Lord & Taylor is the best source of video so far,” said Dot Joyce, a spokeswoman for Boston Mayor Thomas M. Menino. “All I know is that they are making progress.”

And rightly so, do those sweet and innocent Pakistani boys live with an unbelievable level of fear and violence. It must be pretty hard when a "targeted" American drone takes out half your classmates and part of your family while not actually finding its intended target. Why can't we let these folks just live their lives, even if they don't agree with "the American Way"?

Now we've created more enemies than we ever had before. These little children will not forget the harm done to them and their countrymen. All we've done is create entire new generations of Pakistanis, Afghans, Iraqis and who knows what other nationalities in the Middle East that will live their lives to seek revenge and justice against America for our gross misdeeds.

      Good going, America. Fuck Yeah!

Amid a frenzy of reporting on Wednesday that a suspect had been arrested in the Boston Marathon bombing case, NBC News stood out as the only network reporting that no arrest had been made. In the face of increasing evidence that they were incorrect, NBC News stuck to their guns and insisted that there had been no arrest. Within minutes, it became clear that NBC News was the only network to get the story right – no arrest had been made in the Boston bombing case.

Why would you even speculate as to gender and age when there is no absolute info regarding the suspects? You denounce media irresponsibility in your first sentence and the promote personal speculation with your second sentence. Better that none of us publicize our "guesses". Best to let law enforcement do their job, then we can talk about once they gather information and process suspects.

You do realize that most of Americans don't own guns, right? It's you few, you proud, you minority percentage of Americans that just buys up all the guns and all the ammo. Keep on keepin' on gun nuts, it's your right, however I have much better things to blow my money on than arms and ammo.

It's just another example of "us vs. them" and there are too many examples of that in the US now to count them on two hands and two feet. To "us" your weapons collecting obsession is a very foreign concept. However, to "you" my "first edition hand crafted classics" obsession is probably pretty foreign as well. You'd no more pay $2000 for a rare book than I'd pay that amount for a gun. We'll never see eye to eye regarding certain things, and that's okay with me.

We choose our friends and acquaintances and I certainly don't have to have social congress with your type, neither you with mine. We can all be Americans, but there is a rather vast divide between the ideologies within these 330 million of us that populate America, but then again, that's what defines this country.

I was just reading an article concerning the Boston Marathon Bombings and when they quoted our President, they called him "Mr Obama." Which is the least of anyone's worries right now, but just the same-- it's easy to tell the articles that blame our President.

Boston Marathon? Hey, isn't Obama in shape? I see a connection!
The bombs were in pressure cookers?? Doesn't Obama's cook staff use pressure cookers? Connection!
This is how that black guy is gonna take away our white liberties and let the Mooslims overrun us all!!

These people are fucking nuts. And y'know, if PRESIDENT Obama were half as shady-powerful as they think he is, one would think they'd put a little more thought before criticizing him. I'm sure his Kenyan black-magic will find you in your sleep, crazies.

Members of the media have the unfortunate job of filling 24 hours of air space every day. Because one of their problems is that there is no relief from the ever present camera and microphone and the desperate desire to be the first to break the story. I rue the existence of the 24-hour news cycle. What we need to do is just let the officials DO THEIR JOBS without hounding them for instantaneous results. I want the culprit/s captured and brought to justice. I want to know that the evidence is sound and that the case has not been tried in the media before ever getting to court. The crew on NEWSROOM got it right, remember, when they didn't jump on the competition bandwagon about the Tucson shootings . . . . Now for that to become reality.
