Rep. Michele Bachmann will travel to London as part of the U.S. congressional delegation at Wednesday's funeral for the late British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher.
Other American lawmakers making the trip include Rep. George Holding, R-North Carolina, and delegation leader Rep. Marsha Blackburn, R-Tennessee.
"Margaret Thatcher was one of the greatest champions freedom has ever known, and her funeral gives Americans and friends around the world an opportunity to pay final respects," House Speaker John Boehner said in a statement.
Oh man, you just KNOW this is going to burn a certain half term governor's ass! I certainly hope that her refrigerator has taken out a life insurance policy.
You also KNOW that Bachmann undoubtedly badgered Boehner until he caved and let her come along. I cannot imagine that he chose her because of her intelligence or diplomatic abilities.
All I can say is that the Palin-bots are going to go ballistic at this news.

Okay I am convinced that Palin MUST be burning up the phone lines right now trying to get an invite. I actually would not be all that surprised if she does not figure out some way to finagle herself a way into the funeral.
I mean if Bachmann and Gingrich are both going this must be driving her crazy!

She has no official capacity to be at Thatcher's funeral, other than she wanted a photo op with Thatcher once upon a time.

DeleteThere is nothing wrong with debt. Most people owe money on their credit card bills, car payments, and mortgage for example. You have a couple of choices when you go shopping. Carry a wad of cash and risk getting mugged. Write a check, and having it verified which takes forever or put it on the card. There you are, you have debt. The trouble with banks loaning money for anything, let's say a small business, is that if you are a good credit risk (paying your note on time each month), they will happily lend you more money.
There is no sin in kids getting a student loan to go to a college or university. What Sarah seems to be saying is that those good schools, the ones that cost so much money are so elite--- oooh, awful debt. There is a reason why so many kids do want to go to a good school, get a good education-- they want to get a good job. They also want to learn about the world, about history, geography, literature, fine arts, science, in short, everything that Sarah knows nothing about. That's why she has to put it down.
Facebook Sarah posted only 7 words for Boston and she posted a whole book about Willow's graduation from Harvard...... or was it hair school? Then Facebook Sarah steered the attention to herself by mentioning she will march in her parade in Arizona and hopes everybody will see her there.

ReplyDeleteI am a true blue Brit. Maggie was the best person to sort out a failing country when she came in. Anyway as far as I know the funeral is an invitation only thing(approx 2,000). Kissinger and Gingrich are definite. I am not sure that a delegation from the Republicans have been asked. As far as I do know a lot of the invitees are contemporaries of her time as the Prime Minister.

Thatcher would NOT have given time to the likes of Bachman or Palin. She only ever had time for people who had firm ideas and could back them up with intelligent research and facts.

I am a Republican whose first vote was for Reagan, so shoot me ! However I detest Her Heinous from AK/AZ more than liberals since Palin destroys my party by playing the role of the Grifter. Now, people here may not like Michele Bachmann at all..however, she is a true believer in what she does. You can disagree with Michele on every issue, but what you see is what you get. She is everything the grifter aspires to be but can't pull off. Michele can put sentences together; She actually graduated from more than one college; she passed the law exam;she has won 7 straight elections; she has 5 kids who either are in college or who already graduated college. Nobody in the Bachmann clan has had babies out of wedlock; they stay out of the gossip columns; they have never gone on reality shows. Like I said, you can dislike her politics, but unlike Cruella, she never pretends to be something she is not. She will not wear some striped miniskirt; she will not strap on a pair of "Belmont gals"; and she won't pull out some silly wig. Michele is very comfortable being an attractive 57 year old woman who has no qualms about shopping at Target. To compare her to Screech , a/k/a Permafrost Penelope, is blatantly unfair.
