Westboro Church to protest funerals of victims of Boston Marathon bombings. Update!

I support the 1st Amendment as much as the next guy, but I have had my fill of these lunatics and would fully support the removal of all of their rights!

It seems like these tragedies bring out the best in most people, but there are those like Fox News and Westboro that demonstrate the very worst of human kind.

By the way this eight year old boy is one of the victims of the bombings whose funeral apparently the human garbage associated with Westboror feel it is appropriate to disrupt.

The 8-year-old boy killed in the explosions at the Boston Marathon has been identified as Martin Richard, The Boston Globe reported.

The boy was at the event to watch his father race, according to TV station WHDH.

Richard's mother and 6-year-old sister were recovering in a hospital after suffering serious injuries, the TV station reported. It said the boy's mother underwent surgery for an injury to her brain and his sister lost a leg in the explosion.

Apparently in the Bible read by Westboro there is no Jesus Christ preaching a message of compassion. Personally I think if you do not have ANY respect the man's message, you should not name your religion after him.

Update: It looks like the Westboro folks can expect company if they show up at the funerals.

When are we going to stop giving attention to the Westboro Childcare facility?

For their own personal safety, it would be wise for these cretins to stay away from Boston.

All events for memorials and funerals should be directed to be in Dorchester. I'm all for making these waste of human skins fodder for some vindictive righteousness. Let's see how bold they'll be there!

Seems they are getting off message. Looking for any opportunity to get exposure.

The two images of this young boy are heartbreaking. In the photo here it appears he is in his First Communion suit outside of church and the other picture out there on other sites shows him holding a sign about us not hurting each other. IF you believe in God. You have to believe HE is speaking to us loud and clear through this child.

I read that his Mom suffered a severe brain injury and his 6 year old sister lost her leg.

And what is your God telling you that justifies this? If you believe than you believe he had a hand in this, so please, tell me why anyone should pray to the cause of this.

I agree . There is no god. If there is, then we are his science fair experiment and he is sociopathic. People need to THINK. There is NO god.

God gave up on us and started over on a peaceful planet where people are not trying to come up with new ways of killing each other on a regular basis.

    2. The people behind this Christian Church are are very legally versed and relish the thought of lawsuits when their rights are denied. That is their main source of money. When they realized that just picketing AIDS funerals was not getting them coverage, they branched out for more and better exposure. They have done good though. This Church opened my eyes as to what a sham organized religion is. I'm sure I'm not the only one. It must be a VERY special event to get me into a church anymore. I will say "I believe in the teachings of Jesus to always do good and teach by example, but I will not support organized religion."

    4. Yeah but there was that whole thing in Mississippi protesting a dead soldier. One of em brought it up at the wrong gas station. Somehow, there were no witnesses...Something similar happened in West Virginia after a mining disaster, I believe.

I don't mean to sound indelicate (yes I do) but why can't an unhinged gun nut or crazy bomber target these idiots? They've caused too much pain and strife in this country and I can't help but say that their silencing would be a blessing.

This is not a church, it is a HATE group. Their tax exempt status should have been revoked long ago. Why don't other members of Baptist organizations speak up, tell them to stop their hatred.? It reflects on them all as far as I am concerned. Keeping quiet is just like condoning their actions.

I agree with you and I think that the Supreme Court was absolutely wrong to see them as anything but a "hate group."

    3. Baptist has no religious meaning other than a rejection of infant baptism. Baptist churches are independent. Religiously it makes the most sense, but of course it means anybody can call themselves Baptist.

May 17, 2004, Massachusetts legalized SSM and the Boston Marathon bombs were God's "direct and immediate result"?
Is "direct and immediate" in terms of God days as measured in Genesis?
    These people are beyond ridiculous.

The Patriot Guard is already rallying groups in and around Boston to protect the families during their grief. WBC will run tail like they always do when faced with live veterans.

But I ask all of you a serious question,, is what WBC has to say that mush different from what other churches are saying against other groups? They aren't far removed from the Southern Baptist church(the Klan church)

  17. Perhaps the young women who left this group should be part of the counter-demonstration and look for an opportunity to talk with some of the other young ones who haven't made the jump yet.

Anyone know how/where to suggest it to them?

This terrorist attack is so despicable, it's just hard to believe that any human could be so fucking heartless.

Death penalty is too good for such a person.

Rather send them to Guantonamo or a Supermax prison for the rest of their life.

Live in one 12x8 cell the rest of their life on crackers and water, no TV, no books, nothing but suffering for the rest of their life.

Whomever did this almost deserves torture to feel the pain and suffering they have inflicted on others.

I am going on vacation soon, and will miss a chance to protest the hateful bastard bigot Westboro bastards.

Maybe they will be smart enough to stay away from a crowd of thousands who might not have the restraint to keep from destroying their signs, their cars, and their microphones.

And kudos to Anonymous. Keep it up, whoever you are :)

Limbaugh was pretty awful today. He spent most of his opening segment berating the media for trying to tie the Boston bombing to the right-wing while throwing out the 'how Bill Ayers and his wife got started in domestic terrorism' meat to his listeners. Then he had a caller come on and smugly state that he was afraid for his upcoming marathon run and would like the government to start regulating ball bearings and pressure cookers. After a commercial break he asked Snerdley to check the premises for pressure cookers, then claimed he had multiple e-mails from listeners that found pressure cookers around where they were. Then he launched into a final tirade about how leftists were totally cool with 9/11 because most people working at the WTC were from Wall Street, which the left views as not people because corporations are not people

There is no fuck off big enough for this guy. Even in the face of a national tragedy he doesn't miss a beat, the hate flows unperturbed. I find it somewhat comforting that he is losing sponsors due to his constant bullshit, but how any company can be associated with this guy is just beyond my comprehension

Knowing Bostonians, I would not be surprised if they didn't actually ALLOW the WBC to "get close" - and then completely surround them so they can't run.

    THEN give them what for!

I just hope their anger over shits like these people allows them enough control to NOT hurt the children. They can't control what they are taught.

I wish three things would happen to this bunch of crazy shits. Their tax free status should be pulled. They should be identified as a hate group. Child abuse charges should be brought against them.

What they are teaching those kids is criminal!
