Just in time for the beginning of the NRA's annual meeting man opens fire in crowded Texas airport and dies from a, possibly self inflicted, bullet wound.

Courtesy of CNN:

A man was shot and killed Thursday in a pre-screening area at Bush Intercontinental Airport in Houston, authorities said.

Houston Police Department spokesman Kese Smith told reporters that the man had just come through the doors in Terminal B when he fired at least one shot into the ceiling.

A Homeland Security Investigations agent was working in an office near the scene, came out and told the man to drop his weapon. The agent fired once at the suspect, who appeared to try to shoot himself at the same time.

An autopsy will determine whose bullet killed the man, who has not been identified, police said.

CNN affiliate KHOU reported the man walked into the terminal with a military-style, semiautomatic rifle and fired two shots into the ceiling.

"Fired two shots into the ceiling."  Isn't that how they say hello in Texas?

This is going to be a really hard one for the Right Wing to take on, because they undoubtedly have a knew jerk desire to claim that the Homeland Security officer was suppressing this gentleman's 2nd Amendment rights, but then HE clearly exercised his by shooting the man to death.

I think in Texas they call this a Constitutionally backed disagreement. "No harm, no foul folks. Just two patriots discussing gun control using their 2nd Amendment rights to explain their point of view."

I am sure that this will be discussed at the NRA meeting and after much conversation (five whole seconds) they will decide that this is a clear indication that there needs to be MORE guns at our international airports.

So, let me get this correctly: Al Quaeda brought us 'no water, and no box cutters onto a plane'.
The shoe bomber brought us 'take off your shoes and belts and coats and walk barefoot(in summer, when you wear just sandals) through the checkpoint and catch some foot disease as a bonus.
I don't remember just WHAT brought us the obscene scanners that have not been calibrated.
Now, pray tell, just WHAT is THIS lunatic going to bring us??? A checkpoint before a checkpoint? El Al style security at airports, where you have NO idea IF or WHEN your plane will fly?

The next thing you know, they'll be putting fluoride in the water supply.

But what's the first thing you know?

      Old Jed's a millionaire.

This has been the day from hell. I only caught my second wind because I knew it was Friday. Then an asswipe in Accounting burst my balloon about two o'clock and corrected me on my self-delusion. Prick. But tomorrow afternoon I'll remind him that even when his weekend begins and ends, he'll still be a pencil-necked geek that wasn't smart enough to graduate in Finance and then go on and get an MBA. And then the doofus will do something stupid like hanging a pacifier on a clip on my office door attached to a Winnie the Pooh card saying "I'm sorry you're having a bad day!"

By then it will be 5'pclock and he'll be my best friend and golfing partner. But we ain't there yet. If everyday were like today has been, I'd snort meth and adderall and start a PAC and tweet stupid shit every time somebody looked at me squarely in my wonky eye. On only top-shelf world leaders do that and wear bumper-sticker t-shirts for attention.

Hoplophobia: Pro-Gun ‘Doctors’ Invent Psychological Disorder To Discredit Victim Activists

This may [be] one of the most repulsive moves yet by gun worshiping extremists bent on preserving the legitimate rights of the 2nd Amendment for murderers and madmen. … The authors propose that such people are mentally unfit to express their opinions about the tragedies that they and their loved ones endured.

And yet another kid, 13 years old, who shoots (and tries to rape) his mother because she took away his video games because he had bad grades! Shoots her 20 times!

The trial of an Iowa teen accused of attempting to rape his mother and then shooting her dead began Wednesday with prosecutors playing a chilling 911 call.

Noah Crooks, now 14, can be heard on the March 24 call telling a dispatcher with the Mitchell County Sheriff's Department that he shot his mother, 37-year-old Gretchen Crooks, almost 20 times with a .22-caliber hunting rifle and he doesn't know why he did it, the Globe Gazette reports.

"I feel crazy and I know I'm not," he says on the 10-minute recording. He later states, "I tried to rape her. I tried to rape her but I couldn't do it … I tried to rape my own mom. Who tries to rape their own mom? My life is down the drain now."

The woman's body was found shortly afterward at the family's Osage home shortly after the phone call. Police say her body had multiple bullet wounds and she was naked from the waist down.

The teen, who was 13 years old at the time of the call, also tells the dispatcher, "I just wish it was a dream so I could wake up and kiss her and hug her."

Oh come the fuck on already. He was pissed off about not being able to do what he wanted and had extremely poor anger management skills, who at 13 doesn't. A gun was in the home and he used it, she'd be alive today if there had been no gun. How much more clear cut can you get than that?

A 13-year old who gets angry and shoots him parent is one thing.

Trying to rape your dead mom (whom you just shot 20 times for not letting you watch video games) goes above and beyond poor anger management skills.

This is most likely a kid who has emotional problems and has been a handful for his parents for a while. There are heartbreaking stories out there of parents who are dealing with kids like this (assuming, as I am, he is one), kids who are extremely violent toward their parents and siblings.

Even more reason why there shouldn't be guns in the house.

O’Reilly Battles With Guest Over Fundamentalist Christianity’s ‘Corruption’ Of The U.S. Military

The founder of the Military Religious Freedom Foundation appeared on The O’Reilly Factor Thursday night to discuss, as he recently wrote on The Huffington Post, the “fundamentalist Christian monsters who terrorize their fellow Americans by forcing their weaponized and twisted version of Christianity upon their helpless subordinates in our nation’s armed forces.”

RNC Features Grieving Newtown Mom In Despicable New Ad

Even as poll after poll shows that obstruction of the Toomey/Manchin background check bill is more poisonous than a dart frog with an attitude, the Republican National Committee has decided to release an ad bragging about it. Political wisdom aside, though, the RNC has crossed a line that should cost them dearly with voters who have any sense of decency. Included in their gloating attack ad was a still frame of President Obama consoling Nicole Hockley, mother of Dylan Hockley, who was six years old when he was murdered at Sandy Hook Elementary School. The shot was taken minutes after the Republicans defeated the bill with a minority of votes.

You will be laughing, and there are plenty more where these come from. The Pee's can get their knickers in a twist, but that won't make Sarah Palin any smarter. That woman was an idiot when Keith Olbermann first said it, and she still is an idiot. No one stamps their foot, demanding that the president take action right now over some phony outrage about putting religion back in the US military. No one is going to get nice publicity if she calls the media "assclowns."
Sarah Palin may have bigger boobs, but she remains the biggest boob of all. https://pbs.twimg.com/media/BI1RxhFCIAA-tK0.jpg

Yeah, a constitutionally backed disagreement! I'm glad it ended with no bystanders hurt or killed, but it really does make you wonder how safe our airports are! But why should airports be any different than schools, movie theaters, or a lawyer hunting with Dick Cheyney?

Might as well get to know the new NRA president, James Porter: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=opjdxnag3TE

Some nuggets of knowledge in his own words from President Porter, a southern gentleman who wants you to know as a matter of introduction that back where he comes from...
" -- we call the ‘War of Northern Aggression.’ Now y’all might call it the Civil War, but we call it the ‘War of Northern Aggression’ down south."

"....But that was the very reason that they started the National Rifle Association, was to teach and train the civilian in the use of the standard military firearm..."

No hunting, home/personal defense, or sport shooting at the top of his list. Nope. The #1 reason for the NRA's creation was ...AND IS... to teach civilians how to use "the standard military firearm.."

In case you thought you may have misunderstood his words he repeats --

"...and I am one who still feels very strongly that that is one of our greatest charges that we can have today, is to train the civilian in the use of the standard military firearm..."

    Why?

"...so when they have to fight for their country, they’re ready to do it."

Well that's cool. Citizen soldiers ready to defend the Homeland.

    But wait....there's more to it

"Also, when they’re ready to fight tyranny, they’re ready to do it."

Ahhh yes, tyranny. Gotta be ready to fight against the tyranny. You know, like his fore-folks did in that nasty War of Northern Aggression.

    And,

"Also, when they’re ready to fight tyranny, they have the wherewithal and the weapons to do it."

How important is this to him?

"It’s a sacred duty for all of us to maintain."

He adds some history you may not be aware of:

"“You know, the NRA was just a glorified shooting club up until about 1968. At that time, Thomas Dodd, father of Chris Dodd, was a Senator, and Stuart Symington, and some other Senators, got together and they tried to ban all firearm ownership. And we were able to craft a compromise.”

Yep, some northern libtards tried to take away all guns from everyone back in '68, but the NRA stopped them. Bet you didn't know that.

  15. It is best not to piss off Texans. Travelers at the Houston airports feel safe now, as we don't want to go back to the national guard patrolling the concourses like under Bushco. We all need to be reminded of how far we have come or fallen re guns.

This is where see something, say something comes in handy. We need more info on how this guy walked into a major airport with what? Thank goodness the shooter didn't get very far.....
(good thing this was a man because if a woman had
done this she'd have been blown to bits.....).
