I liked how Craig Melvin immediately asked him how he could possibly know if the detainees had put on weight unless he saw them BEFORE they started their hunger strike. After which the candy ass tries to change the subject in order to save face.

Exactly because they are, they are neither concerned not embarrassed. Far too many of their ilk will be reelected as a reward for their inflammatory, hate infused remarks. There has always been a regressive component in this country and the adherents have worked stealthily and effectively for several decades to change the system from the ground up. This can be seen by the gerrymandered districts in many states, in which it will be almost impossible for progressive voices to be recognized.
We have to energize other progressives who still believe that reason will prevail.
The problem with "those of us who think" is that we look at problems from all angles and as such will always be "behind" those who follow one-track-unthinking fanaticism.
The congressman looks like he's been consuming the calories that the GITMO hunger strikers have missed. That Calvin Melman fellow made brainiac Pompeo look like a stupid assclown. And Pompeo's on the house intelligence committee!
ReplyDeleteThese asshats scream about what's unconstitutional, yet always turn the debate to the terrorists gaining resolve to attack the US. Doesn't it make sense the other way? We're being attacked because we're keeping GITMO open.
I think President Obama's doing the right thing, close GITMO and try them in Kansas so Brainiac Pompeo can keep tabs on their weight and due process.
