Like most Right Wing nuts Sarah Palin is VERY excited that it is Benghazi Day!

Palin hobnobbing with rich white people while her ghostwriters labor to make her sound intelligent.
This from her ghostwritten Facebook page posted yesterday:

Tomorrow’s hearings on Benghazi will define the Obama presidency if the truth is finally allowed to be told. I encourage everyone to tune in and hear the revelations that are long overdue. We’ll also see whether the president’s reliable lapdog cheerleaders in the media will continue to cover up for him and in so doing disgrace their profession. The following link is to something I posted way back on October 25th of last year asking questions that we should have had answers to long ago.

 - Sarah Palin

(P.S. If you want to check the link the Lunatic by Lake Lucille is referring to you can click my link at the top, but I am confident most of you have read it, or some version of it, in other places on the net.)

Today is a big day for the Right Wing as they have put a lot of their eggs in the Benghazi basket.

I have read their past version of evidence, which has been mocked by just about everybody including Stephen Colbert just last night, and have been unimpressed as most of their argument seems to hinge on a number of misunderstandings as to what kinds of support were available, to protect Ambassador Stevens.

I have no idea EXACTLY what NEW "evidence" the Republicans are planning to put forward today, apparently based on some testimony from a few people who claim to have been involved in the decision making that terrible day, as they have not been very forthcoming with those not on their side.

Though apparently they had no problem sharing the evidence with Fox News employee Mike Huckabee, who claimed the following:

"I believe that before it’s all over, this president will not fill out his full term," he said. "I remind you, as bad as Watergate was, because it broke the trust between the president and the people, no one died. This is more serious because four Americans did in fact die.”

Interesting that a man who no longer has any security clearance, and holds no political office, has seen this evidence, but others in the actual Senate and Congress have not.

If this is indeed "bigger than Watergate" I cannot imagine how anybody would have managed to keep the evidence under wraps.

However Salon, which has been following this pretty carefully has little doubt their evidence is mythological, and not fact based:

Right-wing media are using a congressional hearing to push new myths about the Obama administration’s response to the September 11, 2012 attacks on a U.S. diplomatic facility in Benghazi, Libya. In fact, these myths are discredited by previous congressional reports and testimony, which show that the politicized nature of the hearings come from right-wing media and Congressional Republicans, that the military could not have rescued personnel from the second attack, that the administration was in constant communication at all levels during the attacks, and that the intelligence community believed there was a link to an anti-Islam video at the time of the attacks.

In my opinion, and the opinion of most rational people, this is a rather desperate attempt to smear former Secretary of State, and possibly future unbeatable presidential candidate, Hillary Clinton.

They used these same attack against the President during his bid for reelection, and it did them no good, but they apparently have NOTHING else to work with, so they are going to beat this dead horse until it finally whinnies for them.

Anyhow I have little confidence that anything the Republican trot out today will have any real impact, but we shall soon see for ourselves as the hearings are happening right now. (If Fox News is to be believed.)

Update: Yeah this about sums it up.

in my world, the word "Benghazi" is both a joke and a call to argue. My m-i-l and I have had some real wing-dings over it, since she must watch FauxNews. She just says the word, and I turn and say "do you feel like fighting?" I still get a little weepy about how Sean Hannity turned the story into a lie, telling people that the Ambassador was raped and drug through the streets by the maddened crowd, when the truth is so much more beautiful, albeit tragic.
I hope this hearing ends the worst of Faux's focus on the lies surrounding the issue.

Issa has been trying to create trouble w/this subject for years. They are going after Hillary Clinton on this issue too - since she could likely run for President in 2016. I detest the Republican party.

Palin knows shit about the subject - trust me!!!! I'd love for the press to ask her questions about the subject. She'd fall flat on her face w/answers, I'll betcha!

They put too much faith in their bullying tactics. They act as though they have video surveillance of President Obama hulking out and killing those people himself. Oh, no, I got it. He was on the phone with his gay Muslim lover telling the Taliban and the Muslim Brotherhood that in order to get our missile codes they had to destroy the embassy because that's where he keeps his original birth certificate. That's gotta be it.

Colbert Previews Fox News’ ‘Explosive’ Coverage Of Benghazi Hearings: ‘The Taco Bell Of Breaking News’

Ahead of today’s House Congressional hearing on the Benghazi attack, Stephen Colbert took a head-first dive into Fox News’ speculative coverage of what that network has been promising will be “explosive” revelations.

Since the attack first happened last September, Colbert reported, Fox has been “doggedly” pursuing the investigation to uncover “how the administration blew it, when they blew it, why they blew it, and how they will continue to have blown it.” The host also marveled at the fact the car used in shot after shot on Fox appears to still be on fire. “I mean, it’s been eight months,” he said. “For God sake, the Maccabees’ oil only lasted eight days.”

After playing a montage of Fox contributors telling their viewers just how “explosive” the whistleblowers’ testimony will be, Colbert declared, “this is the best possible kind of political story: we have no idea what’s in it and it’s going to be explosive. It’s the Taco Bell of breaking news!”

Reach America's High School Anti-Christian Bullying Video Calls For An 'Army' To Save America's Souls

From the dramatic soundtrack to the youthful protagonists' militant rhetoric, this new video on the "problem" of anti-Christian bullying is arguably intense.

The clip, produced by Idaho-based group Reach America, features teens saying they will build "an army" commanded by Christ.

"We are in a war for the hearts and souls of our generation," one says. "Failure is not an option," another adds.

The video begins with a parade of teens staring into the camera, asking questions, including: Why can't I pray in school? Why are they taking God out of my history books? Why am I called names because I believe in marriage the way God designed it?

Public school has become godless, the teens argue. Far from what the Founding Fathers envisioned, the school system is now a place where students are rude, teachers force them to look at "pornographic" sex education images and bullies call Christians "hateful," "hypocrites" and "bigots" for their beliefs, they say.

However, while some of the points in the video are factually accurate, others are not entirely on the mark. Take some the following statements, for example:

"In 1962, the Supreme Court ruled that prayer was unconstitutional in schools," a teenage girl with long, brown hair says. (This is true.)

"In 1963, the courts ruled the Bible unconstitutional," a young boy says. (This is not true. School District of Abington Township, Pennsylvania v. Schempp concluded that schools could not require the reading of Bible passages of the Lord's Prayer.)

While Christ may be the commander of this Christian "army," the man mustering the troops is Reach America's Gary Brown, a longtime pastor from Atlanta. (Brown is also the president of the Idaho Values Alliance, a post he took over from controversial evangelical mouthpiece Bryan Fischer.)

“There is a lot of bullying directed at Christian kids in public schools and the culture at large,” Brown told Fox News Radio. “So many teenagers are being ostracized for being a Christian.”

He told the outlet the video has been shown in worship services and youth group meetings.

Reach America's latest video is consistent with a new notion sweeping through evangelical circles: the idea that Christians are becoming an oppressed minority.

Peter Sprigg, a spokesman for anti-same-sex marriage Christian lobbying group Family Research Council (FRC), bemoaned the fate of his organization in a CNN piece earlier this week, while other Christian pundits have suggested that anti-gay, Christian activists may one day be treated similar to how the Jews were treated during the Holocaust.

Scarborough, Chuck Todd Blast GOP’s Benghazi ‘Conspiracy Theory’: Not ‘Holy Grail’ Or ‘Pathway To Victory’

MSNBC’s Jonathan Alter On Benghazi Hearing: ‘How Can You Cover Up Nothing?’

As Republicans predict that Wednesday’s hearing of the House Oversight Committee on the September 11, 2012 attacks in Benghazi, Libya will be President Obama‘s undoing, MSNBC contributor Jonathan Alter expressed skepticism about that notion. On Tuesday afternoon’s Martin Bashir program, Alter responded to the upcoming hearing by calling it “kind of disgusting,” and asked host Martin Bashir, rhetorically, “How can you cover up nothing?”

It started with Roger Ailes and Frank Luntz. It was given to Geraldo Rivera to beat like a dead horse; then Fox picked up their false and self created narrative - trying to rush to judgement as if this was the President's personal fault, as if he doesn't read his "Presidential Daily Briefings" like the moron before him and in an effort to help Mitt the Twitt Romney during the election season (#Fail). The GOP/Fox Fast and Furious failed to help Mitt the Twitt - so they needed something new. Educated Americans saw it for what it was - if you're in an embassy in a 3rd World Country at time of a revolution - there are inherent dangers. Fox, thinking most of America might be as stupid as their normal 1% audience found out that no, the rest of the nation - all 99% of us - just chalk it up to Fox creating a false narrative and playing American deaths for political points - particularly given their silence over the 8 disastrous Bush years where more than 20,000 Americans had died under his watch. (9/11, Katrina, Iraq, Afghanistan, Mass murders at schools, universities, etc.). So try as they might - no one is buying the FoKKKs BS.

Top Republican ‘Fairly Satisfied’ With White House’s Account Of Benghazi

Senate Foreign Relations Committee Ranking Member Bob Corker (R-TN) said Wednesday that he's "fairly satisfied" with the Obama administration's account of events that led to the deaths of American diplomats in Benghazi last year.

"We need to know were these people culpable or not. If they were, why are they still on the payroll? Other than that, I've been able to read all the cables. I've seen the films," Corker told MSNBC. "I feel like I know what happened in Benghazi. I'm fairly satisfied."

He cautioned House Republicans to be "respectful" if they probe the issue further.

"Look, if the House wants to have hearings," he said, "I hope they're done in a respectful way and hopefully it will shed some light on what happened."

A Delusional Lindsey Graham Thinks the ‘Dam’ is About to Break on Benghazi

Senator Lindsey Graham (R-SC) is high on his party’s delusions about using their debunked Benghazi conspiracy theories to bring down Hillary Clinton, the front runner for 2016, as she is currently polling light years ahead of all the Republicans.

Graham wrote on his Facebook page Tuesday, “I think the dam is about to break on Benghazi. We’re going to find a system failure before, during, and after the attacks. We’re going to find political manipulation seven weeks before an election. We’re going to find people asleep at the switch when it comes to the State Department, including Hillary Clinton. The bond that has been broken between those who serve us in harms way and the government they serve is huge — and to me every bit as damaging as Watergate.”

Lindsey made a good point when he qualified his reference to Watergate with “and to me”, because Republicans have been falling over themselves to attribute any number of huge Republican scandals to President Obama to no avail. They’ve been naming natural storms “Obama’s Katrina” and trying to pin the wars on Obama by calling them “Obama’s wars” and for months they’ve tried to turn Benghazi into Obama’s Watergate. But when that didn’t work, and when new polls showed Hillary wiping their front-runners off of the map, they realized that they should change targets.

So now we’re getting attempts at “Hillary Clinton’s Watergate!!!”, only without the evidence, smoking guns, proof, and actual scandal. It will only be Clinton’s Watergate in right wing public relations venues. And if their past history indicates anything, Republicans will buy into their own press, never checking in with the actual public who vote, and will destroy their national chances once again as they pander to extremists.

This is yet another huge fail, on par with Republicans believing their own “unskewed polls” in 2012. Instead of changing their party to meet the current age, Republicans are just changing reality to suit them.

The comments on Lindsey’s Facebook page might inform a more reality-based Senator that this is not the best road to winning (last names redacted):

So driving was out of the question they had no aircraft on stand by so one had to be flown from Italy if Aviano had transport planes if not then they would have to come from Ramstein Germany a greater distance..Damn my brain is hurting,so that's 5 hrs from Italy 8 hrs if it was Germany then at least 2 hrs to Benghazi plus..Oh I give up.

Dem Rep. Cummings Tears Into GOP Rep. Issa For ‘Politicizing’ Benghazi During Congressional Hearing

Rep. Elijah Cummings was the first Democratic member of Congress to speak during Wednesday’s hearing on last year’s attack on the U.S. consulate in Benghazi, Libya. Cummings did not waste any time before going after Chairman of the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee. Rep. Darrell Issa (R-CA), for what he believes was the congressman using the Benghazi attack for his own political gain.

Cummings began by thanking the witness, former diplomat Gregory Hicks for his service and offering condolences for the loss of his colleagues in the attack. “If I had been in your place,” Cummings said, “hearing Ambassador Stevens’ voice on the phone and wanting to do everything possible to help him, I would have had the same questions you had: where’s the military, where are the special forces, where are the fighter jets to rescue my colleagues? These are legitimate questions.”

But from there, Cummings proceeded challenged a series of theories about how the U.S. could have saved the four men who died in the attack; claiming that official sources have confirmed to him that under the circumstances, it would not have been possible for military help to arrive in time. “I have seen nothing to make me question the truthfulness of our nation’s military commanders,” Cummings said. And while he said the oversight committee has a duty to hear testimony from Hicks and his fellow whistleblowers, “we also have a duty to thoroughly investigate these claims before we make public accusations.”

Cummings decried the “full-scale media campaign” unleashed over the last few weeks “that is not designed to investigate what happened in a responsible and bipartisan way, but rather to launch unfounded accusations to smear public officials.” Cummings made it clear that he was “not questioning the motifs of our witnesses,” but rather “questioning the motives of those who want to use their statements for political purposes.”

Cummings continued, directing his attacks squarely at Rep. Issa, and accusing him of blaming the Obama administration for the attacks “for political reasons.” He read a laundry list of allegations Issa has made against President Obama, Hillary Clinton, Susan Rice and others and explained why they are simply “untrue.”

Sympathy for Nordstrom, no sympathy for Issa & others who are exploiting this tragedy.

So, let me get this straight:
If a consulate or embassy gets attacked under Bush, it's a tragedy.

If a consulate or embassy gets attacked under the black guy, it's all his fault and he must be impeached.

Look at all the "Benghazis" that happened under W.:

January 22, 2002. Calcutta, India. Gunmen associated with Harkat-ul-Jihad al-Islami attack the U.S. Consulate. Five people are killed.

June 14, 2002. Karachi, Pakistan. Suicide bomber connected with al-Qaida attacks the U.S. Consulate, killing 12 and injuring 51.

October 12, 2002. Denpasar, Indonesia. U.S. diplomatic offices bombed as part of a string of “Bali Bombings.” No fatalities.

February 28, 2003. Islamabad, Pakistan. Several gunmen fire upon the U.S. Embassy. Two people are killed.

May 12, 2003. Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Armed al-Qaida
terrorists storm the diplomatic compound killing 36 people including
nine Americans. The assailants committed suicide by detonating a truck
    bomb.

July 30, 2004. Tashkent, Uzbekistan. A suicide bomber from the Islamic Movement of Uzbekistan attacks the U.S. Embassy, killing two people.

December 6, 2004. Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. Al-Qaida terrorists storm the U.S. Consulate and occupy the perimeter wall. Nine people are killed.

March 2, 2006. Karachi, Pakistan again. Suicide
bomber attacks the U.S. Consulate killing four people, including U.S.
diplomat David Foy who was directly targeted by the attackers. (I wonder
if Lindsey Graham or Fox News would even recognize the name “David
Foy.” This is the third Karachi terrorist attack in four years on what’s
    considered American soil.)

September 12, 2006. Damascus, Syria. Four armed
gunmen shouting “Allahu akbar” storm the U.S. Embassy using grenades,
automatic weapons, a car bomb and a truck bomb. Four people are killed,
    13 are wounded.

January 12, 2007. Athens, Greece. Members of a Greek
terrorist group called the Revolutionary Struggle fire a
rocket-propelled grenade at the U.S. Embassy. No fatalities.

March 18, 2008. Sana’a, Yemen. Members of the
al-Qaida-linked Islamic Jihad of Yemen fire a mortar at the U.S.
Embassy. The shot misses the embassy, but hits nearby school killing
    two.

July 9, 2008. Istanbul, Turkey. Four armed terrorists attack the U.S. Consulate. Six people are killed.

    September 17, 2008. Sana’a, Yemen. Terrorists
dressed as military officials attack the U.S. Embassy with an arsenal of
weapons including RPGs and detonate two car bombs. Sixteen people are
killed, including an American student and her husband (they had been married for three weeks when the attack occurred). This is the second attack on this embassy in seven months.

I don't recall anyone saying that the failure to prevent these attacks was "Bush's Watergate".

And just remember, all those attacks listed above happened after 9/11.

Issa accuses Benghazi commission chairman of refusing to testify, then refuses to let him testify

As today’s big Benghazi hearing gets underway, Republicans are saying Ambassador Thomas Pickering – the co-chairman of the State Department’s committee investigating of the Benghazi attack – has refused to testify today.
The State Department says the opposite is true – that Pickering wanted to testify but Republicans would not let him.

“Ambassador Pickering volunteered to appear,” a State Department official tells ABC News. “But [Government Oversight and Reform Committee Chairman Darrell] Issa said no.”

“That is 100 percent untrue,” says Issa spokesman Frederick Hill.
Apparently, Pickering declined an earlier invitation to testify at a March hearing, but according to the State Department, wanted to appear in today's hearing. Asked by ABC about Pickering's offer, Hill said he could not testify:

“If Ambassador Pickering has reversed himself and wants to testify, we would welcome him at a future date,” Hill said.

    How about today?

Hill said it is too late.

In other words, that thing Hill said was "100 percent untrue" ... was in fact 100 percent accurate.

As best I can tell, the right's theory about Benghazi comes down to two broad claims. First, they believe President Obama and his administration, motivated by election year politics, deliberately misled the public about the attack by claiming it was spontaneous and denying terrorist involvement. Second, they believe the president and his administration—including former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton—failed to make decisions that would have saved the lives of the four Americans killed in Benghazi and then subsequently covered up their failures.

Neither theory pans out, however. The first theory—that the administration deliberately and dishonestly covered up the nature of the attack in order to sway the presidential election—doesn't make any sense at all, even if you ignore the facts and focus purely on motive. If Obama had wanted to exploit the attack politically, he'd have instantly declared it an act of war by al Qaeda and launched military strikes somewhere, even if he didn't know who was actually responsible for the attack. Presidents always get a boost in such times. Remember how the bin Laden video boosted Bush in 2004? If anything, by avoiding a chest-thumping escalation, Obama created a potential political problem for himself.

There's another, more important, reason that the first theory doesn't work: As you'll see below, it ignores the facts.

What this all boils down to is a political circus. It's no surprise that Republicans are targeting the strongest Democratic candidate for 2016 as well as the sitting Democratic president: Their goals are transparently political. For them, this isn't about the substance of what happened in Benghazi. It's about winning an election three years from now, and it shouldn't be a surprise to anyone: It's just how Republicans roll.

Why There Won’t Be Anything New In Today’s Benghazi Hearing

...Much of what’s to be discussed today was already covered in the State Department’s Accountability Review Board report, which was overseen by former Joint Chiefs of Staff chairman Adm. Michael Mullen and former Ambassador Thomas Pickering. But that hasn’t stopped Republicans from trying to tear down the Board’s findings. Instead, the House GOP released its own report with a focus on former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, claiming that their findings contradicted her testimony that she was unaware of requests for additional security in Libya.

Attacking Clinton seems to be the raison d’être of today’s hearings, despite lacking the authority order Defense Department assets into the field. “They’re no longer going after the White House, perhaps because the president’s not running for reelection, and they’re going after the former secretary of state, perhaps because she will be,” Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA), a senior member of the House Intelligence Committee, explained. And, much like the rest of today’s hearing, going after Clinton in relation to Benghazi is in itself nothing new.

Republicans Kick off 2016 Presidential Campaign Today with Fox News Generated Hearings on Benghazi

'Whistleblowers' are represented by Republican lawyers Toensing and DiGenova, veterans of the Clinton Wars

Basically all you need to know about the Fox News-sponsored hearings on the Benghazi attacks scheduled for today is that two of the “whistleblowers” — Gregory N. Hicks, the deputy chief of mission at the U.S. Embassy in Libya at the time of attacks, and Mark I. Thompson, a former Marine who is now the deputy coordinator for Operations in the State Department’s Counterterrorism Bureau — are being represented, reportedly pro bono, by Victoria Toensing and Joe DiGenova, a husband and wife team of lawyers who are longstanding political apparatchiks for the Republican Party.

The role played by Toensing and DiGenova in the hearings is damning evidence, if any were needed, that the “scandal” around the terror attacks on the U.S. consulate in Benghazi last September is what it appears to be: a bogus political ploy fabricated by Fox News and its allies on the Hill intended to damage the Obama administration politically in the short term — perhaps opening the way to impeaching the president, as right-wing talk show host Mike Huckabee predicted it would yesterday — and, over the longer term, to weaken the prospective candidacy of Hillary Clinton should she decide to run in 2016.

The presence of Toensing and DiGenova is also likely a sign that all the high-powered nonpartisan attorneys in D.C. declined to take the case.

Toensing And diGenova make no secret of their ties to the Republican Party in Washington. In the 1990s, both lawyers played prominent roles in the GOP’s smear machine against the Clintons, frequently appearing on cable shows — along with professional Clinton-haters like Ann Coulter, Laura Ingraham, Barbara Olson and cable-show host Chris Matthews — to promote politically generated false narratives about the Clintons.

In the 1980s, Toensing was a deputy attorney general in the Reagan Justice Department and served as legal counsel to GOP Sen. Barry Goldwater. In the early 1990s, DiGenova was an independent council tasked with investigating whether George H.W. Bush’s 1992 presidential campaign illegally accessed then-Gov. Bill Clinton’s passport records. (Spoiler alert: The Bush campaign was cleared.)

Toensing was last in the national news when she served as an advocate for Bush II officials, including Vice Pres. Cheney, his aide Scooter Libbey and Bush political operative Karl Rove, who had deliberately exposed a covert CIA WMD-tracking program in the Valerie Plame scandal.

But the most substantial evidence that the Benghazi “scandal” is ginned-up propaganda is the fact that there were eight attacks on U.S. embassies and consulates during the Bush-Cheney years, and despite the fact that more than 30 people were killed and nearly 70 were injured in those attacks, the Republicans who controlled both houses of Congress during the first six years of Bush’s term did not convene hearings to investigate the attacks, nor did they call for hearings after they lost control of Congress in 2007. The attacks included:

I am starting to think it doesn't matter what any of them say, as long as no one mentions that film, unless it is to scoff at such a ridiculous notion. They just don't seem to want anyone to look into that detail.

As long as they can make this a scandal about any other aspect of the incident, it doesn't matter what any of them say.

Is it possible that someone is being investigated about the film, and they're trying to get out in front of some future story, thereby controlling the narrative?

Former Vice President Dick Cheney on Tuesday lashed out at President Barack Obama’s administration for a “failure of leadership” over an attack in Benghazi that killed four Americans on Sept. 11 of last year, saying that the Bush administration was “always ready on 9/11″ — at least, the anniversaries.

At an event to celebrate the launch of former Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld’s new book about leadership, Cheney told the Daily Mail‘s David Martosko that the Obama administration “should have been ready before anything ever happened.”

“I mean, it’s North Africa – Libya, where they’ve already had major problems,” he observed. “You know that Al-Qaeda is operating there, and you have some of the other Al-Qaeda-affiliated groups there like Ansar al-Sharia and others.”

“When we were there, on our watch, we were always ready on 9/11, on the anniversary,” the former vice president added, not mentioning that nearly 3,000 people had died during the original 2001 attacks. “We always anticipated they were coming for us, especially in that part of the world.”

The GOP is pissed that the 9/11/12 protests and violence didn't derail Pres. Obama's campaign. Their initial criticism of Benghazi was defensive...that the White House cited the anti-Mohammed film as motivation for the attack. To this day, we don't know if or how the film was a factor.

Lindsey Graham: "We’re going to find political manipulation seven weeks before an election."

What if there was political manipulation but it was coming from the GOP camp?

    Why isn't Issa investigated this:

Anti-Mohammed film and Middle East violence --> Sina/Abdelmasih/Nakoula/Klein --> Pamela Geller/Robert Spencer/John Bolton --> Walid Phares (Romney foreign policy adviser) --> Mitt Romney/Romney 2012 campaign

You seem to have a good grasp of this situation, do you mind if I ask a few questions?

Okay...so their argument is that the Obama Administration, instead of issuing information provided by the CIA, originally said that the attack on the embassy was caused by a response to a film, which they act like is a completely ridiculous assumption.

What was the statement that the CIA originally provided?

I seem to recall that when they originally tried to make this attack into a scandal involving the Obama administration, their huge problem with it was that the President and other officials didn't say that it was a terrorist attack.

Now they seem to be taking a different tack to spin this into a scandal, but I haven't figured out what it really is yet. But still no mention of the possibility that reaction to the film may have been a factor. The film is never mentioned by Ms. Lindsay, or McCain, or the others, almost like they are trying to remove that idea from the narrative.

So are they actively trying to downplay any chance that the attack DID come about as a reaction to the film?

I am getting the idea that they don't really expect anything at all to happen from this "investigation", except that by constantly harping on the whistleblowers, and the scandalous administration response, they can remove the idea that the film ever existed.

Is this "investigation", in reality, a part of a plan to cover up their attempt to false flag an election, by repeatedly seeking to influence public perception about the attack?

      Delete
    2. Anonymous12:34 PM

Yep. The right wing hate machine created that video with the sole intention of derailing Obama's re-election. They didn't care how much death or destruction it caused. Getting Obama out of "their white house" was more important. I'm surprised more people haven't put the pieces together yet.

      Delete
    3. Anonymous1:28 PM

CC - I spent some time looking at the video creators and found the tie to Pamela Geller. At one point, there was an appeal on her website to raise money for such a film. The producer or director (sorry, I don't recall which) attended her Islamaphobe rally in NYC. She's also been photographed with the Romney campaign foreign policy adviser.

I didn't save the initial statement from the Obama administration. I was stunned at the time by the unanimous GOP outrage that the film was mentioned as a provocation. It reminded me of the Rove playbook of accusing the other side of what you did in order to wear down the impact of the truth if it ever finally comes out. Have you noticed the GOP never discusses Benghazi in context of the widespread violence? Reaction to the video could easily spawn a planned attack as well as a protest with 'spontaneous' violence. I think the timing of the video is suspect--translated into Arabic and promoted in the middle-East right before 9/11 leading up to a presidential election. I'm not aware of anyone in the media investigating this angle.

Look at Sarah's list of questions in her Facebook rant, brought over from her 2012 post. They center around the YouTube video. I think she's the only one mentioning the film these days. The GOP seems to have moved on, morphing their outrage to create a new scandal.

      Delete
    4. Anonymous3:05 PM

So bottom line: Any mention of the video in connection to the widespread protests and violence and, especially, Benghazi was met by intense GOP resistance. They successfully got the media and Obama campaign to ignore the possible GOP connection to the video, possibly out of concern that it was a distraction from campaign issues...not unlike the decision on babygate.

  60. It's cover-your-ass time for one of the "whistleblowers" who testified today, Deputy Chief of Mission Gregory Hicks.

Rep. Jason Chaffetz found out when he and Chairman Rep. Darrell Issa first began investigating the Benghazi attack, that Hicks made the first mistake, and so far, hasn't been punished.

This quote is from Wikipedia: "Ambassador Stevens telephoned Deputy Chief of Mission Gregory Hicks in Tripoli to tell him the consulate was under attack. Mr. Hicks did not recognize the phone number so he didn't answer it, twice. On the third attempt Mr. Hicks answered the call from Ambassador Stevens."

...The footnote at Wikipedia leads to The Blaze, where you find this, dated 11/1/12:

The truth about the deadly terrorist attack on the U.S. Mission in Benghazi is trickling out slowly. The latest development is found in a classified cable obtained by Fox News that reveals the compound in Libya was unprepared to withstand a “coordinated attack” due to lack of security and other issues.

Appearing on Fox News with Greta Van Susteren on Thursday, Rep. Jason Chaffetz (R-Utah) revealed two more interesting pieces of the Benghazi puzzle. First, that U.S. Ambassador Chris Stevens rang Deputy Chief of Mission Gregory Hicks on Sept. 11 to tell him the consulate was under attack.

“He said that shortly after 9:40 p.m. what happened is his phone rang and he didn’t recognize the number so he didn’t answer it. And then it rang again and again he didn’t answer it because he didn’t recognize the number. But then given the persistence, he did answer it. It was Ambassador Stevens and Ambassador Stevens was saying we’re under attack,” Chaffetz said.

“Now I can’t say he told me specifically that he was asking for help but that’s kind of what I read into it....

"Is there any wonder why distrust of arrogant, out-of-touch media is at an all-time high?"
    -Sarah Palin's Facebook

Yes Sarah we distrust men who had a book written about their sex trafficking business and still they refuse to personally address it. Can you get Todd to officially address this?

Evidence folks, Shailey Tripp needs more than a book written by her telling her tale. She needs evidence but seems to have none, except for her account of events. If there was evidence in this case then Todd would be arrested and deposed. So far, she hasn't presented enough evidence to take him to court.

I'm not taking Todd Palin's side, however, I'd not address claims unless actually required to do so in court, and so far that hasn't happened.

"Innocent until proven guilty" and the onus lies on the accuser to provide substantial evidence to back of a claim of malfeasance.

There was enough evidence to warrant an arrest of Shailey Tripp.

There is more than enough evidence to warrant an arrest of Todd Palin.

Don't be so naive to think that the reason Todd Palin hasn't been arrested is because of a lack of evidence. Unfortunately our justice system isn't that cut and dry.

Sarah knows if Todd has a 2-toned Penis. And the only way that Shailey would know is that she had sex many times with Todd Palin. What more Evidence is needed to prove that Todd had sex with Shailey Tripp?

Nearly all men who have been circumcised have different colored skin on their penises. The bottom half of the penis tends to be darker while the top half, where the foreskin was removed is a lighter color.

Seems that she certainly hasn't seen many penises, for being a hooker, because there is a very definite line of demarcation on a circumcised penis.

Perhaps Ms. Tripp was only boffing non-circumcised men?

2-toned as in Pinto, FOOL.But thanks for your expertise on Penises. So you've seen a lot of them in your travels.

Can you please explain what "2-toned as in Pinto" means? I apologize but I thought Ms. Tripp was referring to Todd Palin's penis being two different colors, as mens' are if they are circumcised.

And yes, I've seen plenty of penises.

Shailey Tripp was arrested for running a house of prostitution masquerading as a massage parlor. She employed another girl, Kashawn Thomas, who once charged and released has had nothing to say or do with Shailey Tripp.

Why won't Ms. Thomas step forward and tell what she knows?

Just another link in the chain that leads us to nowhere.

Do a search for Pinto horses and you'll see.

There are a few possibilities why Thomas won't step forward and only one of them is because Todd wasn't a customer and a pimp. Do you live in a bubble where the police are all good guys, nobody is ever scared or threatened, and everyone wants to stick their necks out?

On facebook Sarah Palin goes out of her way to embarrass the Obama administration except when it comes to subjects covering S.E.X.

The Air Force, which has been rocked by a sexual abuse scandal at its major training base, suffered another embarrassment Monday with the revelation that its chief sexual assault prevention officer was arrested over the weekend for allegedly groping a woman.

Not a word from the wife of Todd Palin.

Understandable that Sarah is quiet about this. Its going to be very embarrassing when the spouse of the former governor of Alaska is indicated for interstate sex trafficking. Especially if she is pointing her fingers at others.

RE: 9/11...my stupid Republican father says that the person at fault for that....is BILL CLINTON!!!!
    Yup!
    Bill "who-wasn't-in-office-for-nine-months" Clinton...
Because he "should have" went after Bin Laden after the USS Cole attack, which in his opinion, was an act of war. (it happened three months before he left office...)
When asked why Bush didn't do anything in reaction to this "act of war" for NINE MONTHS, my Asshole father says..."he didn't want to be disrespectful to the previous administration."
Weird, because it took W. about thirty seconds to "disrespect" the previous administration's EPA policies...why didn't he have a problem with that?
Also, according to my asshole father: Hillary Clinton is a lesbian AND she had an affair with Vincent Foster...

Might need to buy "dear old" dad a dictionary so he can look up the meaning of the word lesbian...

Just goes to show you how "smart" Republicans and their voters are.

Lookit. I am a citizen in Arizona. I don't give a rat's ass clown about this state. I say, go for it Sarah - there's new grifting territory here. Lots of brown folks though. And not from tanning beds. But you will be well-protected by high level politicians here. they are, with few exceptions, just like you. Heck, run for governor!

It's a well-accepted fact that the Bush Administration had Pakistan time the announcements of big arrests of al Qaeda people (and exaggerate the importance of some arrests, too, if you ask me, because it seemed for a while there like there were three or four people who were "the number two") to coincide with important political milestones, such as the day John Kerry accepted the Democratic nomination. There was one case I remember reading about where WE announced an arrest even though Pakistan didn't want us too because they thought it would interfere with their investigations.

Never had any hearings on that, did we?
Seems like that's putting politics over security. Seems like that put some people's lives at risk.

Also, how come no hearings on the fact that we had the name of Bin Laden's personal messenger for five years and didn't do anything with it????

Does anyone notice Benghazi sprung up as the Cartahanga hearings were starting to go full swing? John McCain, (car thief, Darryl Issa) all jumped on it and rode the wave until....
This came out Shailey Tripp, an Ex-Prostitute from Alaska, Connects Todd Palin, the Ex-First Dude, to David Chaney, an Ex-Secret Service Agent
I do hope y'all will tweet this out tomorrow on "Benghazi day"....just sayin'!
