Gov, Jack Markel signs marriage equality bill. |
Delaware is the the 11th state to endorse gay marriage after a bill legalizing same-sex unions passed the state Senate on a 12 to 9 vote. (The District of Columbia has also legalized gay marriage.)
The bill passed the state House in a narrow vote last month and was signed Tuesday afternoon by Gov. Jack Markell (D).
I don't think I have ever seen public opinion change on anything as fast as it changed on marriage equality.
Personally I think that marriage equality should be the law of the land and cannot wait until DOMA is repealed.
After all as a loving father I want for my daughter the same privileges and rights afforded to everybody's son and daughter. After all, we do live in America.

ReplyDeleteI was thrilled to hear this! I hope more states join
ReplyDeletethose who've backed Marriage Equality. I never thought I see such a shift as we've seen under President Obama on LGBT issues.
Delaware's Governor Jack Markell was in favor of gay marriage all the way back in 2008 when Barack Obama was still claiming that marriage was between one man and one woman. Delaware's Legislature passing marriage equality and Governor Markell signing it has nothing to do with President Obama.
