Perhaps the coolest cover of David Bowie's "Space Oddity" that you will ever see.

This is Commander Chris Hadfield on board the International Space Station doing a rather amazing, and genuinely good, rendition of Space Oddity.

So much awesome in this video.

I just watched this video about what's called the "Overview Effect", which is experienced by astronauts looking at the earth from space. Fascinating video that nicely compliments this song.

That is a guy who loves what he does. There is also a video of him singing from space with a choir and the lead singer of Bare Naked Ladies (with them on earth of course).

Representative Michelle Bachmann, R – MN, has threatened to flee the state to escape God’s wrath, she said today during several interviews.

Minnesota has become the twelfth state to vote for legalizing gay marriage. After the bill passed the state Senate Monday, paving the way for same sex couples to marry beginning August 1, 2013, Democratic Governor Mark Dayton said he will sign the bill into a law tomorrow.

During an interview today with KSTP-TV , Bachman had this to say:

“The Bible is very clear on this issue, homosexuality is a sin, and God will punish communities that support it. Sodom and Gomorrah thought they could defy the will of God – and we all know what happened to them. If the Governor signs this legislation into law the Minneapolis-St. Paul region will be next. I have a friend from Eden Prairie who’s already packed everything she owns into her car and is driving out to Montana as we speak. These are very scary times. I don’t want my family to be the last ones out.”

While none of the other eleven states have gone poof, the wild-eyed crazy Tea Party darling went on to tell anchor anchor Bruce Nolan that it’s only a matter of time.

“I don’t know what it will be, Bruce,” she said, “it could be an earthquake. It could be a volcano. It could be some sort of flesh eating virus. All I know is that God does not let homosexuality go unpunished, and Minneapolis is next in line for his wrath. It breaks my heart to think that the Democrats are willing to play politics with the lives of so many Minnesotans. And I hate to leave so many of my constituents behind, but I urge them – please, please – follow my example and get your loved ones to safety before it’s too late.”

Gosh, I almost feel sorry for the homophobic bigot, NOT! I do however feel bad for the people living in Oregon, where Bachmann speculated she would go.

This video is a treat! So much for the "stuffy astronaut" stereotype.
