Um, the last I looked, they ruled it was LEGAL, not that it was OKAY! Okay implies a moral judgement and they didn't make that call.

And no, I am NOT saying it is wrong. I am merely pointing out ANOTHER mistake that asshole Huckabee made!

    1. Huckabee doesn't have the nuance of reasoning to understand the difference. Nor do many other rabid fundamentalists.

Huckabee used to be governor of Arkansas (1996-2007). Although ex-governors are sometimes addressed as governor, using the title to refer to himself is pathetically immature.

Huckabee does not have the intelligence to survive the twitter-verse. Nor does he have the intelligence to HIRE SOMEONE to disguise his stupidity with witty tweets.

Huckabee's opinions on Jesus Christ are as worthless as his opinions on the political discourse in this country. Unfortunately, Huckabee is nearly impossible to smackdown, he's too stupid to notice he's being laughed at.

    All hail Twitter Jesus!

Five years from now the hard religious right is going to look back at their opposition to gay rights and say, "What was I thinking? It was so obvious gays were human beings."

      Want to bet?

They are too stupid to recognize they are wrong and even if they weren't too stupid, they wouldn't admit it! They are in the same kind of situation that the Catholic Church finds itself after that Papal Infallibility Encyclical - screwed and unable to back up.

After the Civil War, there were so many people claiming blacks weren't human and the only reason most of them stopped claiming that was death came knocking. This will be the same thing.

As one of those librul NY wimmenz making several visits to Alabama back in the mid 90s, I was shocked to discover that some people there are STILL fighting the 'War of Northern Agression'.

I was even more shocked when I was complimented for being nice "despite coming from north of the Mason-Dixon line". I hadn't heard that term mentioned since social studies class in grade school!

Huckabee followed up with another tweet:

5 people in robes said they are bigger than the voters of CA and Congress combined. And bigger than God.May He forgive us all.

Yes, Mike Huckabee, that's how the CONSTITUTION works. Legislative, Executive and Judicial, checks and balances, etc. all the stuff in your 6th grade civics class.

He was a f'ing GOVERNOR and he's whining about the CONSTITUTION. What a moran.

(And if god existed, god would be female!!)

    Bravo JC!

Now this is totally off topic but I had to link to the SP picture on Huffpo

It wasn't long ago that all her pictures in the media were flattering images--regardless of the horrible things that spewed out of her mouth. Now the media are using images that more accurately depict the image of the woman inside the facade.

I'm 52 years old and I can't ever remember being so bombarded by religious nuts in the government.

Did I just forget or have we set some sort of new record these last few years?

3:23, I am 65 and I can tell you that there was NEVER this sort of crap during that time span.

One of my favorite (true) quotes is this: Memory is the second thing to go and I'll be damned if I can remember what's first! So I know what you are worried about with the memory question. I am answering your question with this.

      No, you didn't forget.

Thanks, Leland. I'll sleep better tonight! :)

I thought my being oblivious to this kind of full court press years ago might have been a result of growing in an almost all white, mostly Christian, middle class suburb. I remember causing a ruckus on my block when my boyfriend showed up to take me to the senior prom. He was Chinese and the curtains were twitching up and down the street!

It definitely was the cause of some ugliness on a community level, but I don't recall hearing about religion from the politicians to the exclusion of everything else.

Jesus woke up in a cave and got the hell out of the middle east and never looked back. He lived the rest of his days in private, just as he did from age 12 to age 30.

I think Mr Huckabee might want to read that bible again since he is worth $5 million. Oh that right the rules don't apply to him only those he deems as lesser humans.... get a life Mike and stay out of other consenting adults bedrooms....

"how hard it is to enter the kingdom of God! It is easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God."
