Yes Mark Levin, who is her favorite author because he is one of the few remaining people on the planet who do not think she has the mental capacity of a toddler whacked out on library paste.
Now it is important to note that Palin is NOT encouraging anybody to actually read a book, just hold one. Because you know holding books makes you look smart. Kind of like wearing glasses after you have had Lasik to correct your vision.
You know I have to admit being a little surprised to see Palin holding a book, I always thought books worked on her kind of like crucifixes did on vampires.
I think it would be a good idea to take up her challenge and send her pictures on Twitter and Facebook of yourself holding up a book.

This guy read right wing literature while on active duty, wearing the uniform of the US Military. His car was covered with anti-Obama bumper stickers. If he wants to promote his political point of view, he should leave the military and join a political party. As for Palin, she is echoing a Mark Levin radio outrage. This is on the same order as getting upset because a child is on the waiting list for a lung transplant (along with 30 other equally sick and needy kids). This is the same thing as Sarah Palin complaining about Mayor Bloomberg's sugary soda law or tobacco sales. Sarah can take the smallest issue and blow it up into World War Three-- mostly because she craves attention, she thinks this will bring in donations and she doesn't know where to direct her hate.
This is simple. Sarah constantly says, "Support the Troops." Now, she doesn't like a military decision. Can't have it both ways. I think that this is a distraction so that we don't laugh about the prospects of Bristol, who said that she hated Hollywood, returning to Hollywood for some money. The promotion for that show describes Tripp as a reign of terror. If that was my grandchild, I'd create a distraction, too.
How much does "Wife Swaps" pay Tripp Johnston to star in the show? I am sure he will feel humiliated when he is old enough to see how he was denigrated and used. ABC must be paying him a fortune. Will Bristol be able to spend his money or is she restricted by law to set some aside for him? I think Tripp is only filmed in Alaska. He would qualify for the helping Alaska film funds?

When the soldier is in uniform and on duty, he is not a private citizen, and he does not enjoy the rights of a private citizen. He has to obey his superior.

It's also the reason I think she seems to be posting more on Facebook recently. Finally, Sarah has the answer to Katy Couric's gotcha question. Well, she may not have read the book, but she posed for a photo with it. That book is from 2009. The photo comes from the Governor's Picnic, July 25, 2009, as Sarah was about to leave office. I hope that Sarah wasn't reading that book when she was supposed to be "on duty." Maybe someone in the crowd gave it to her or to her father, but there's a world of difference between posing with a book and actually reading it.

At the end, there are suggestions on how to avoid the damaging effects of a person who is a sociopath. One of the first is: stay away from this person as much as possible! And do not give the person attention. Also, if a person has lied to you once, it's a mistake. Twice, and your antennae should go up. Three times a liar? Avoid this person forever.
This is an excellent book.

First thing the moron did was go out and get the exact same plates. Just begging for a confrontation. Just begging for some attention that might get his picture in the paper, too.
Count on it. At her next speech, Sarah will come in brandishing Mark Levin's book. She will wave it above her head in her statue of liberty pose. She will flip it open and dare people to make her stop reading it.
DeleteAbout the photo of Sarah and the book. She was at the Governor's picnic, making her farewell speech to Alaska. She was on duty in her official capacity as the governor, just like the uniformed soldier who was reading a politically charged book was on duty. (I know that Sarah was quitting, but that doesn't excuse her). Sarah is safe, however. She doesn't read. She just uses the book as a prop in her lap. But if she was there to give a speech and listen to other speeches, she didn't need a book to read during the boring parts.

EVERY company vehicle was tuned to Rush or other inflamatory radio personality. Once when I changed the station to NPR I was questioned as to why I was listening to a communist station.
There was a "church" across the street that catered to Christian Conservatives.
There were many "concerts" put on by Christian conservative groups.
I was constantly needled by my co-workers because I was the only Democrat/progressive in the office.
This is the culture of intimidation I endured while working in this large military training installation.
Friggin' amazing! The USA is not what we thought it was - media/internet/Facebook etc. has brought everything into public view. Thank God it has or McCain could have ended up in the White House and Palin would have been along for the ride! Haha!

I wrote the above comment. I don't know why all the public media was tuned into these conservative anti-President rants, at a military installation. I don't know if it was station policy or the policy of the MC. I just assumed it was the choice of the Marines on base. Based on their political comments I think it was the latter.

DeleteI live in Arizona and I don't think she will be embraced by all Arizonans. There are LOTS of Native Americans here and they are powerful. Lots of casino money to hire legal staff to fight for their rights. Also there is a sizable and growing liberal contingent, perhaps not in all of Arizona, but in some areas. Sarah might be able to get a state political position in a conservative district. But I don't think she'd have a easy time of it.

ReplyDeleteA man was accidentally shot and killed by his four-year-old son in Prescott Valley, Arizona on Friday afternoon, after the boy found a gun left unattended.
Justin Thomas, a former Green Beret and Iraq veteran, and his son were visiting from Phoenix. A witness says the son found the gun in a friend’s living room, asked, “Daddy, what’s this?” and accidentally fired. Police say that Thomas was visiting the friend unannounced, which potentially explains why the gun was left unsecured.
Thomas died at the hospital, while the son stayed with police officers until his mother arrived. Authorities say Thomas also has a newborn child.

However, a loaded gun should STILL never be left unsecured anywhere in a home, regardless of who lives there.
