Something to keep in mind on the day after all that red, white, and blue 4th of July celebrating.
Damn it Gryphen, please give the ARTIST his due -- and no, he didn't slap the caption onto it:

Authorities said a child was gravely wounded Thursday night when he was shot in the head, apparently by someone firing a gun into the air during a Fourth of July celebration near Swift Creek Reservoir in Chesterfield County.
Chesterfield police said the child, a 7-year-old boy, was in extremely grave condition this morning at VCU Medical Center, where he was being treated for a gunshot wound to the top of his head.
Police said the boy was walking with his father shortly before 9 p.m. near a Brandermill restaurant along the reservoir, where a crowd was gathering to wait for a fireworks display. As the father and son were walking, the child fell to the ground, bleeding from the head.
Lt. Randy Horowitz said police believe the gunshot wound "was a result of someone shooting randomly into the air, likely from a distance, and not an intentional act."
I hope that the person who "randomly" shot his gun in the air is found and charged. Anyone who shoots a gun must know that the bullet will go somewhere. It doesn't go into outer space if you shoot up into the air. Beaglemom
"Oops", the gunman said. "It was the 4th of July and I randomly shot in the air to celebrate...as I do every day. Not my fault they were in the way of my bullet! Maybe they should have worn helmets. Patriots like myself use guns for many occasions because we have the right to and nobody can take that away."
Stupidity, egotism and guns are not a good combination.
