Having thought it over now Bill Kristol realizes that Sarah Palin doesn't have a future in politics. Gee, ya think?
Courtesy of Raw Story:
“I was asked, ‘Does Sarah Palin have a future?’ and I just tried to give an analytical answer, which is I don’t think she does having resigned as governor,” he said.
He continued, “This is useful to think outside the box, not just accept the conventional wisdom…If she wants to have a serious future in American politics, as opposed to giving speeches occasionally, causing a ruckus with Facebook posts, she should run for office. Running and winning takes away a lot of the baggage of the past.”
When the “Morning Joe” team reacted with skepticism, Kristol said, “You don’t think if she ran in the Republican primary in Alaska and beat a couple of good candidates and the incumbent senator, it would be interesting? It would fun to have her in the Senate in January 2015. Good to have a Republican vote there, lively young senator.”
Tuesday’s “Morning Joe” panel included Nicole Wallace, the former McCain staffer who has been very vocal about the difficulties she experiences as Palin’s 2008 handler, calling her “withdrawn, uncommunicative and incapable of performing even the most basic tasks required of her job as McCain’s running mate.”
Palin had no choice but to resign as Governor, trust me on that.
As for her EVER running for office again, especially in Alaska? You just keep an out for flying pigs and that MIGHT be the day such a thing would be possible.

She had no choice? And yet, the final damning proof in any one of a dozen scandals has failed to surface... I've been reading here daily since 2008, I read Joe's book, and I'm fairly up to speed. She had no choice? Could you say more to that, Gryphen?
ReplyDeletemultiple reasons - but threatening the President was the #1 reason. She's lucky she's not doing life in prison.
DeleteSarah Palin walked away from a governorship. Other than health or family reasons (which Palin did NOT cite), a perp walk followed by jail time is the only logical explanation.
DeleteSarah Palin did something bad enough to do jail time, BUT she had enough power over some powerful person to trade her governorship to escape doing time.
It's really a two-part puzzle. What did she do? Who let her off?
O/T but Baldy related...apparently the racist teabaggers got something to say about the Obama's new dog Sunny not being WHITE!

Meanwhile Baldy jumped right on that story and sent by email to Greta a picture of Piper with her new kitty! The kitty cat is white! Y'all know this is more racist code for Baldy Bots to...SEND MORE MONEY!
Wow...she is so fucking NASTY!

Three words: "running and winning." She would NEVER win and that's why she's NOT running. Ever again.
ReplyDelete“You don’t think if she ran in the Republican primary in Alaska and beat a couple of good candidates and the incumbent senator, it would be interesting?"
ReplyDelete-----------------------------
“You don’t think if she ran in the Republican primary in Alaska and rode around on a unicycle playing the Star Spangled Banner on her armpits, dressed in nothing but spray-on gold glitter and wearing a Carmen Miranda fruit basket on her head with an "I ♥ My Sweet Baracky" pennant stuck in a banana while singing "In the Year 2525", it would be interesting?
An equally likely scenario, Billy boy.
:) excellent visual..haha
DeleteWith the fruit basket instead of her wig, her head would be smaller. That *would* be interesting.
DeleteA 'lively young Senator' ??
DeleteKristol hasn't had a good look at the Adderal-addled, anorexic, wig wearin', blow up boobed $creech for a long time.
I HATE it when these DC Beltway "pundints" act like they know Alaska.
"playing the Star Spangled Banner on her armpits, dressed in nothing but spray-on gold glitter and wearing a Carmen Miranda fruit basket on her head"
DeleteTHAT image is gonna haunt my nightmares for a while. Thanks loads, Nefer!
John McCain, ‘Does Sarah Palin have a future?’
ReplyDeleteJohn McCain, would you endorse Sarah Palin for senator or president?
No she doesn't
DeleteNo I would not
She has no future in politics other than as a rabble rouser, which is all she is now. Her days as eye candy for those with healthy vision are long gone.
DeleteMcCain would never endorse her for Senator of Arizona, but he might have his arm twisted to endorse her for Senator of "her own state*, Alaska, because McCain is still afraid of her calling him out as a RINO.
Not because he might not be re-elected, but because he's to the point where he is more worried about his legacy than his finances or having a job outside of politics.
I've got some news for Senstor McCain:
Sarah Palin IS your legacy. Yes, you were blackmailed by the Religious Right Fundies, but how did signing up for their agenda work out for you? That was time to be a maverick and put your country first and call them out for meddling with our democratic process, not to get in bed with their obviously stupid, embarrassing candidate. Not with words like your campaign slogan, but with actions that would've made this country a much better place to live the past 5 years and for the next generation. It was your choice to make, and you sold out. I'm glad I'm not you nor even related to you or your quitter friend.
I am sincere when I say "Fuck you both. You two deserve one another."
"I respect Sarah Palin and her family. I think she gave a great speech and energized our campaign."
Delete3:38 Right, but does he think we are so dumb as to not realize that giving a good speech and energizing a campaign are NOT qualifications for president (or even VP)?
DeleteOT
ReplyDeleteWhat is the final story on Ruffles and Trig?
Are they two different babies?
Where are they?
One baby, four ears. Sarah's world.
Delete2:33 Don't know, but I was thinking to myself just this weekend that they seem to be using the "softer" smaller Trig mostly these days. So what happened to the other Non-Bible-Camp, only kid in the auditorium boy?
DeleteI was disappointed Nicolle Wallace didn't reiterate that Palin showed signs of mental illness during the campaign and that Kristol should realize by now that Palin is 'coo-coo for cocoa puffs.'
ReplyDeleteShe had a book to promote then.
DeleteMeh! I prefer thinking you're wrong but you make a very good point. I hope, at some point in the near future, Nicolle will prove you wrong.
DeleteIt's all very depressing.
"Causing a ruckus with Facebook posts" - hahahahahahahahahahahaha!!
ReplyDeleteI'm taking this to mean Kristol no longer wants to get into her smelly underwear with her.
ReplyDeleteHad to happen.

The only long-term future for Sarah is to hawk content-challenged, ghostwritten devotional books to her naive xtian fanclub.
ReplyDeleteR-i-n-g!! Hello? Yea, Karl here, initiate phase 3 of operation Palin scrub. Bill Krystol, you can now say she doesn't have a political future. This message will self-destruct in 5 seconds".
ReplyDeleteWe continue to see references to "she had no choice" etc. but no one will share what they know. Why is that?
ReplyDeleteMy, has this been a funny newsday.
ReplyDeleteFirst, today it is revealed that on July 25, Fox News fired Brian Lewis, Roger Ailes's top assistant, for cause. Reasons included "financial irregularities, as well as for multiple, material and significant breaches of his employment contract." The situation was serious enough to require that Lewis be forcibly escorted from his office. Well now isn't that interesting.

Next, today, it is revealed that Hillary is totally egging on Reince Preibus: she doesn't want the miniseries to be aired, either, because she thinks that, if it is aired, the networks will then double over backwards to smear her, in an "attempt to be/appear fair".

Third, The Canadian government has responded to Ted Cruz's attempt to renounce his citizenship. It turns out that, unlike a Moslem divorce, merely repeating "I renounce thee" three times is not sufficient for the deed to become final. No, first a Canadian government security file must be opened in Canada's spy agency (The Canadian Security Intelligence Service) for the renouncer (meaning, he or she will have to pass security clearance) and, before anything else can proceed, it must then be proven that the person IS, in fact, a citizen of Canada! To top it all off, the person must submit a written document explaining why he or she wishes to renounce, and must then prove to Canada that he or she is, or will become, a citizen of another country. A non-refundable fee of $96 is charged. Eventually, a Canadian judge will determine the outcome. At a minimum, the process will take about 8 months. Contrary to what some righties have been claiming, under Canadian law, the only Canadian-born foreign nationals who do not automatically become Canadian citizens are the children of foreign diplomats.
Oh, the irony!! Now, in order to make himself appear to be a full-blooded American, Cruz will have to first prove that he is, gulp, a CANADIAN – and, gulp, also an American! To top that off, Cruz will now have an official spy file opened in his name in Canada, a country that would have ignored him completely and given him free health care if only he had kept his mouth shut!!

Thanks, 3:29! Great summation and excellent writing.
DeleteDelicious, thank you.
DeleteWell when you Alaskans see one of those flying pigs I would suggest it may make a more intelligent candidate than SP. Now, that's just my opinion :)
ReplyDeleteLittle Rabbit
Kristol still can't crawl away from his responsibility for thrusting this know-nothing onto the national stage. So he hems and haws, pretending that it's "thinking outside the box" to imagine her in the Senate.
ReplyDelete"If she wants to have a serious future in American politics, as opposed to giving speeches occasionally, causing a ruckus with Facebook posts, she should run for office"
LOL -- "causing a ruckus with Facebook posts" -- the ultimate shovelful of dirt on Sarah's future. Even Bill thinks you're a nincompoop, Sarah.
Oh, and Bill? At 50, she would not be the youngest, or even one of the youngest, Senators. She acts like a little girl/hooker, but she's a grandmother, and has supposedly had twenty years of political experience behind her. Sarah's not a new-comer; she's a has-been.
WOW, they are in such a hissy fit that there's a black man in charge...
ReplyDeleteGOP Rep. Bentivolio: ‘Dream Come True’ To Impeach Obama (VIDEO)
Rep. Kerry Bentivolio (R-MI) said Monday it would be a "dream come true" to impeach President Barack Obama.
Bentivolio's comments came in response to a question about impeaching the president during the August 2013 Birmingham Bloomfield Republican Club Meeting on Monday.
"You know if I could write that bill and submit it, it would be a dream come true," Bentivolio said. "I feel your pain and I know. I stood 12 feet away from that guy and listened to him and I couldn't stand being there. But because he is president I have to respect the office. That's my job as a congressman. I respect the office."
Bentivolio added that he's met with lawyers about impeaching Obama.
"I went to my office and I've had lawyers come in," Bentivolio added. "These are lawyers, PhDs in history and I said 'tell me how I can impeach the President of the United States."
But, the Michigan congressman continued, there first has to be evidence to impeach the president.
"Until we have evidence, you're going to become a laughing stock if you've submitted the bill to impeach the president because number one, you've got to convince the press," Bentivolio continued. "There are some people out there no matter what Obama does he's still the greatest president they've ever had. That's what you're fighting."

Saw that on the news tonight. That poor young man and his family...and those wretched lost souls that took his life. How in blazes did they get a gun? Oh, wait, this is America. You can get a gun easier than you can get health care as a woman these days.

ReplyDeleteIowa GOP County Chair Resigns, Says Party ‘Headed In Wrong Direction’
The co-chairman of Iowa's Polk County Republican Party has stepped down and registered as an Independent, writing in a resignation letter that the GOP is "headed in the wrong direction," the Des Moines Register reported Tuesday.
Chad Brown told the newspaper he resigned his post on Aug. 5. Brown cited Rep. Steve King's (R-IA) recent comments comparing undocumented immigrants to drug mules as an example of his disagreement with the party, along with its positions on gun control and climate change.
From Brown's resignation letter, as quoted by the Register:
In 2012, the Polk GOP lost Polk County by over 32,000 votes. Until 2002, Republicans were elected to the State House from Des Moines. In 2012, Republicans lost 2 State House seats in suburban, Republican-leaning districts and came two dozen votes from losing a third. Facts are stubborn things. I think we are now headed in the wrong direction on several fronts and regretfully must step aside.
It’s my opinion that rather than fix the problems that led to such a massive 2012 defeat, the GOP does not seem to seriously want to fix the issues. I think helping a dysfunctional Party that does not want to address its problems is enabling. I do not believe in enabling. I debated this for weeks and am certain this is the only course.

There's a weight behind your statement, Griffin, "Palin had no choice but to resign as Governor, trust me on that." Isn't it time to talk about why Palin really resigned? It was not at all for the reasons she gave.
ReplyDeleteYes it is time for Alaska to talk about why that fuckwad Sarah Palin really resigned her job as governor.
DeleteWhy Alaska?
Apologies for mispelling your pen name ...
ReplyDeleteKristol , perhaps unwittingly, admits that at present , Palin is not a serious political player.
ReplyDeleteNot that she ever was.
Kristol's recipe for Palin finally becoming a serious political force is as likely as
Palin understanding the solutions to Einstein's field equations.
Being treated like she's a rock star by imbeciles like Hannity and Limbaugh and the tedious and lovestruck Greta
cannot change the basic math.
Palin is shallow , uneducated , bigoted , extremely ignorant
and venom filled .
There is no hope , in any any universe or solar system ,
of rehabilitating this awful person into a decent human being.
Kristol must see unicorns and rainbows if he thinks this is a remote possibility.
Bill, please extract Sarah's calloused toes from your mouth, you're making an ass out of yourself, or better yet, get a room!
