So apparently now Sarah Palin is inserting herself into actual news stories in a desperate attempt to remain relevant.

Courtesy of the Ima Irrelevant's Facebook page:

So Hillary's campaign stylist apparently leaked to the NYT she wore a white pantsuit to her convention as homage to the democrat female politician, Geraldine Ferraro, who'd also worn white. I was asked why I wore white, too. For the record - I wore it in '08 because it was the outfit with no baby barf encrusted on the shoulder.

Okay well first off I think we all know that nobody asked her anything about any white outfit, which is why she can't link to an actual article.

And secondly has anybody else noticed that the last nine or ten posts on her Facebook page, besides this one, ALL link to the Independent Journal site which I assume means that they are literally the last place where Palin is welcome to post her obnoxious opinions besides her Facebook page.

So recognizing that makes me wonder if anybody even cares anymore about the information concerning her and her family that I am planning to post this next week?

It is true that the story of Track Palin's might have been/might not have been incarceration manged to attract some attention, but even that only lasted about a day, with nobody even bothering to follow up to find out exactly what REALLY happened there.

Has Sarah Palin now been rendered so irrelevant that nobody even cares anymore?

Would even proof positive that she did not give birth to Trig cause a significant ripple in today's daily news cycles?

I have to tell you, I'm beginning to think the answer might be no, it wouldn't.

Here's some video of the property.

So I guess we can assume that Palin's book sales were just not enough to keep her in the style to which she had grown accustom.

Not to mention that her Fox News contract is over.

And of course we already know that the SarahPAC funds are drying up.

So I guess she is starting to sell off her property and belongings in an attempt to keep that hush money flowing and her debtors at bay.

This is actually really big news, as my sources have said for years that Palin absolutely does NOT want to live in Alaska.

Not only is this an indication of just how little money is flowing into the Palin household right now, it also indicates that she does not expect that situation to change any time soon.

Sarah Palin stuck in a state where she is no longer welcome, in the house that she cannot stand to live in, and in a marriage that is only held together by fear and loathing.

Well I guess she has finally hit bottom.

I might have to drink my New Year's Eve bottle of champagne a little early.

Sarah Palin's book tour is flopping just as we knew that it would.

Courtesy of the Orlando Political Observer:

Former Vice-Presidential nominee and Governor of Alaska Sarah Palin was in Orlando on Friday night, the latest stop in her book signing tour to promote her latest work “Sweet Freedom”.

The stop was not heavily promoted and drew about 100 supporters. Palin did not speak beforehand and did not hold any media availability. She first rose to national popularity as John McCain’s running-mate in 2008, and became a fixture in popular culture. She’s written two previous best sellers and remains a favorite among conservatives nationwide.

Was not heavily promoted?

Seems like they tried:

Special Instructions

Wristbands (750 limit) will be distributed at 9:00AM on a first come, first served basis on the day of the event and will be required for entry into the signing line. An additional 250 wristbands will be distributed after, for backup if time allows.

Well it looks like they certainly expected a large turnout.

Gee if only they would have visited IM we could have told them that Sarah Palin's days of fake selling large volumes of books with the help of conservative organization bulk sales are over.

Just like she is.

In the "I told you so" category, guess who gushed over Adele's joke about jump starting her singing career.

Courtesy of People:

After the singer credited her success in the U.S. to the former Alaska governor during an upcoming BBC One special, Palin returned the favor by sending Adele a signed copy of her new book, Sweet Freedom.

But it's what's on the inside that counts. On the first page of her book, Palin wrote Adele a gushing thank-you note that's packed with song title puns. It reads:

"Adele, You look so great! So beautiful! So … Rumor Has It you recently threw me some credit for your amazing success – very kind coming from Someone Like You! Congrats on motherhood. Keep Setting Fire to the Rain.

Love, your fan … Sarah Palin"

And by way of thanking the mega star she sends her one of her crappy books?

That will teach Adele to mention her name, even jokingly, during an interview.

Ahh, Alaska's very own Independence Day. Has it been six years already?

"We're not retreating, we're advancing in another direction."

Apparently at the time she did not realize that the direction she was advancing was toward her own future irrelevance.

Any day now.

Actually for all intents and purposes this has already essentially happened.

For the most part the only coverage Palin gets is to laugh at her misstatements or condemn her hideous gaffes.

Sarah Palin sells little over 20,000 books in first week of highly promoted book tour. Update!

This according to the Drudge Report:

BOOK SALES RACE, WEEK 11/17/13: RUSH LIMBAUGH 'BRAVE' REMAINS #1 WITH 52,463 SOLD [300,400 SINCE RELEASE]... O'REILLY 'JESUS' IN SECOND AFTER SCANNING 49,069 [645,976]... MORE... KRAUTHAMMER 'MATTER' TAKES SHOW WITH 40,598 [131,713]... DUCK DYNASTY 'SI-COLOGY' 26,934 [347,811]... DORIS GOODWIN 'THEODORE' 22,268 [47,571]... PALIN 'GREAT' OPENS WITH 20,157 (Note that the other authors listed are on their second, third, and sometimes fourth week of publication. Not their first.)

Gee even after subjecting herself to interviews on the Today Show, CNN, and USA Today she still cannot convince anyone outside of her rapidly shrinking group of supporters. (For context it should be noted that "Going Rogue" sold in excess of 2 million books, most of which were sold in the first few weeks.)

Also keep in mind that the sales for these conservative books are artificially padded through the use of bulk sales to conservative groups who then give them away with donations or subscription to their periodicals or websites. So the question to ask is, are they still doing that for Palin? Or are they doing it in a far less aggressive fashion due to her fading popularity?

By the by, I think that THIS, and not the Bashir controversy, is the main reason why Palin is taking back her invitation to have Matt Lauer fly up to Alaska to interview her.

Or perhaps it was HE who determined that it was a waste of his time, and NBC resources, to fly all the way to Alaska to interview a has been who is no longer relevant to anything or anybody.

Update: As if to illustrate Palin's diminished popularity, here is Bill O'Reilly telling Howard Kurtz that Palin is too afraid to come on his program:

BILL O'REILLY: Let's just be frank here. You want to be frank, Howard? You want to be honest? Sarah Palin won't do this program. She won't come on the program because she doesn't want to mix it up. She doesn't. She wants to give a speech, and nobody gives speeches here. Okay? So she doesn't come on. We invited her on tonight. You're here instead. But I don't begrudge Sarah Palin that. She can come on. She doesn't come on, she does come on, whatever she wants to do. Okay? Fine.

You know when the top rated host of the Right Wing cable news station/Republican propaganda machine that once employed you, feels he can slam you like this, you are essentially finished.

Having thought it over now Bill Kristol realizes that Sarah Palin doesn't have a future in politics. Gee, ya think?

Visit NBCNews.com for breaking news, world news, and news about the economy
Courtesy of Raw Story:

“I was asked, ‘Does Sarah Palin have a future?’ and I just tried to give an analytical answer, which is I don’t think she does having resigned as governor,” he said.

He continued, “This is useful to think outside the box, not just accept the conventional wisdom…If she wants to have a serious future in American politics, as opposed to giving speeches occasionally, causing a ruckus with Facebook posts, she should run for office. Running and winning takes away a lot of the baggage of the past.”

When the “Morning Joe” team reacted with skepticism, Kristol said, “You don’t think if she ran in the Republican primary in Alaska and beat a couple of good candidates and the incumbent senator, it would be interesting? It would fun to have her in the Senate in January 2015. Good to have a Republican vote there, lively young senator.”

Tuesday’s “Morning Joe” panel included Nicole Wallace, the former McCain staffer who has been very vocal about the difficulties she experiences as Palin’s 2008 handler, calling her “withdrawn, uncommunicative and incapable of performing even the most basic tasks required of her job as McCain’s running mate.”

Palin had no choice but to resign as Governor, trust me on that.

As for her EVER running for office again, especially in Alaska? You just keep an out for flying pigs and that MIGHT be the day such a thing would be possible.

Is Sarah Palin persona non grata with the folks at Fox?

That is a picture of Greta Van Susteren fishing in Alaska.

You may not have recognized her without a Palin milling around her attempting to get attention.

This is Franklin Graham, who Greta is hanging out with here in the Last Frontier.

Notice anything missing?

Now. remember this from a few days ago?

That is Fox News very own bill O'Reilly who was, and may still be, up here as well.

Now that is two Fox News personalities, including Palin's favorite interviewer Greta Van Susteren, and Franklin Graham, Palin's all time FAVORTIE evangelist, and nary a Palin in sight. WTF?

How is it possible that Palin has not been pimping their visit on her Facebook page?

How is it possible that she is not cozying up to Graham right along with Greta for some of that evangelical cred she is always fishing for?

And how is it that Greta has not announced an upcoming interview with the half term governor and former teabagger queen?

I mean we KNEW that the relations between Palin and Fox were somewhat strained, but this appears to be a whole new level of Fuck Off!

I mean sure there MIGHT be something in the works that we just don't know about, but how unlikely does that seem? Especially since Greta has already been here for three days.

You know it almost seems as if Greta and O'Reilly came up specifically to make the point that Palin is no longer allowed at the cool kids table.

But hey don't forget, she DID get to make a cake for an octogenarian race car driver. So you know, she has THAT going for her.

Sarah Palin sighting!

Source
Palin on her way to humiliate herself in front of a bunch of farmers in South Dakota, with her "entourage" of one, Piper.

Wow, flying commercial to the middle of nowhere, to talk about something she doesn't even understand. Apparently THAT is the Palin version of "living vibrantly."

Yeah, somehow I don't think that bringing a vibrator is going to make this trip any more fun.

Wednesday, July 24, 2013

Sarah Palin would like you to believe that she is VERY excited to be talking about farming this week. Yep, that's what she'd like you to believe alright.

Sarah Palin at Iowa State Fair in 2011
Courtesy of the Harridan of Horticulture's Facebook page:

I'm so looking forward to joining hard working farmers in America's heartland this week at the Ag PhD Field Day in South Dakota. It's an honor to get to travel with my entourage (er, that would be Piper) to be with those who are feeding the nation.

You know I used to love to poke fun at Sarah Palin back when people took her seriously and suggest that someday she would be giving speeches at the opening of a Piggly Wiggly's or a talking to just about anybody who would pay her air fare and give her a six pack of Red Bull.

Now that it has happened I cannot decide if I am please with my powers of prognostication, or sad that there were SO many people in this country who did not see it coming, or who actually thought she had the ability to hold an important public office.

By the way I understand that Palin will be standing in the middle of a field giving a policy speech later in the day. Apparently nobody will be out there to listen to her but the farmers think it might help to keep the crows away from the crops.

Well I know she frightened a bunch of Alaskans for about two and half years, so she just might have found her calling.

Two reporters discuss the end of Sarah Palin. Outraged Palin-bots with pitchforks in 3..2..Oh wait they already responded.

Willow Palin with her giant pupil sporting mother, sitting in the warm truck at the Iron Dog (Photo courtesy of Facebook,)
So two Bloomberg reporters, Ramesh Ponnuruand and Margaret Carlson discuss the career trajectory of Sarah Palin and Jesse Jackson. (For the purposes of this post I will leave out the Jesse Jackson Jr. portions, which is of little interest to me as it is clear he has bi-polar syndrome and is now receiving the care that he needs to deal with it. However if you wish to read the entire article simply click here.)

First off this was Ramesh Ponnuruand's take on her upcoming CPAC appearance:

You ask, Margaret, what I think of Sarah Palin’s upcoming CPAC speech. I suspect, like you, that it will get the crowd cheering: The lady can deliver a speech, particularly one for the conservative faithful. Other conservative media figures with a mass following will also get applause.

Palin has decided she wants to be grouped with the Sean Hannitys and Ann Coulters of the world, not with the John Kasichs and Marco Rubios, and I am not going to second-guess her about the best use of her talents. The dilemma she now faces is that interest in her as a media figure has been dependent on the possibility that she has a political future. Her endorsements have been pretty savvy as a matter of picking primary winners, but I suspect that their effectiveness has peaked.

I think that most of us would agree with that assessment. (Though I would disagree slightly with Ramesh's assertion that Palin has any discernible "talent" and that she was "pretty savvy" in her picking of primary winners. since I think only a little over 50% of them won their races.)

Here was Margaret Carlson's contribution to the discussion:

Oh, and regarding Sarah Palin: My surprise at her re-emergence has faded to boredom, which is how most people feel, according to polls. She has gone from It girl to an ex-Fox reality star. Fox doesn't fire people who can still get ratings.

Still, I bet she gets the largest ovation of the conference. I realized that CPAC attendees are celebrity-prone in 2011, when they went wild over Donald Trump, creating a monster Mitt Romney had to bring inside his tent in 2012.

So essentially  what both reporters are saying is what ALL of us are saying, and that is that Palin is yesterday's news and her relevance has diminished to such a point that, using Carlson's description, interest in her has"faded to boredom," which for an attention whore like Sarah Palin is MUCH worse than being a national laughingstock, which was her previous incarnation.

Speaking of laughingstocks those sad little Palin parasites over at the Sea O'Pee took great umbrage that their idol was mentioned in the same breath as a man with an actual diagnosed mental condition:

Classic case of Palin Derangement Syndrome coupled with self-inflated opinions. Governor Palin has “faded to boredom” yet Carlson and Ramesh find her relevant enough to place her in a headline with a felon. It’s humor at its best.

The sad thing is, idiots like these want to be taken seriously. The problem is they always wind up proving the perils of establishment politics and end up describing why it is that establishment politicians will never be what’s right for the people.

You know in the old days this kind of knee jerk Palin defense would have garnered over a hundred or more comments, but as of this post this one has only attracted 24 comments, many of them the same people commenting over and over.

Which, if you think about it, kind of makes Margaret Carlson's point for her.

Even Google is finished with caring about Sarah Palin.

December 19, 2012. Sarah Palin's last appearance on Fox News.
Courtesy of US News: Searches for Palin's name on Google have spiked and dropped many times in the years since she ran alongside Arizona Sen. John McCain, but interest in her had always been high—and it had always surpassed interest in her former running mate.

In January, however, searches for Palin dropped to their lowest point ever since 2009, and became almost as low as the number of searches for McCain for the first time.

Perhaps unsurprisingly, the interest in Palin that does remain is concentrated in Alaska, where she still resides. If Palin's social presence is any indication, she seems to know interest in her has waned. In November 2010, fully two years after the election was over, Palin tweeted more than 100 times in the month, according to the analytics site Tweetstats. In November 2012, she sent out tweets only eight times.

You know it has seemed like an eternity that we have been waiting for Palin to finally disappear from the public arena, and now that it has come well.....it is JUST as satisfying I as I always imagined it would be!

Like I said earlier politically Palin is persona non grata, but remember she has dropped off of the radar before, only to reemerge in another arena.

Though admittedly I am not at all sure what other venues are still open to the Grizzled Mama. Perhaps one of these:
  • Opening a school dedicated to road kill wig making.
  • Appearing on QVC to sell unwanted illegitimate children.
  • Starting the Sarah Palin Evangelical church and shooting range.
  • Or perhaps simply finishing her promised fitness book "Getting Skinny the Wasilla Way: With diet pills, Red Bull, and the reduction of water weight through tears of shame."

Well whatever happens next I doubt too many people are holding their breath to see what it is.

Let's face it, after awhile EVERYBODY'S star burns out. Especially when that star was never really anything more than a sparkler shoved up a reindeer's butt, before it was sent running across the tundra.

Update: Well speak of the devil. I just finished writing this post, and look who immediately took to Twitter to prove the article wrong.

I'm not sure what it means, or even if Palin wrote it, but apparently the corpse still has a few signs of life in her.

Hmm, I wonder what things from the past, that she needs God's forgiveness for, could Palin be referring to? After all the list is so damn long!

Thursday, January 17, 2013

Bill Maher on Chelsea Lately: "Sarah Palin, the illiterate forest creature who served half a term as the governor of a state with no people and is now the queen of brain-farts."

“Right after the election, Sarah Palin, the illiterate forest creature who served half a term as the governor of a state with no people and is now the queen of brain-farts, after the election, she said that Romney lost because he was defined in the swing states early.”

“That’s what our money was meant to do. People did not change their mind much in this election after February, March and April. That’s when those ads went on and we had to define Mitt Romney as what he was, a cold, robotic tax cheat from a polygamy cult.”

You know way back in 2009 I predicted that someday Sarah Palin would be relegated to a punch line for late night  comedians and the subject of a question on Jeopardy:

On Monday, March 7, 2011, Jeopardy featured this question in the category Hearts: Her latest book is titled "America by Heart: Reflections on Faith, Family and Flag"

Not one of the contestants knew that the correct question was "Who is Sarah Palin." And remember, to become a contestant on Jeopardy you need to be exceptionally intelligent with a well-rounded store of knowledge that includes history, science, popular culture, literature, and, yes, politics. Yet none of them had ever heard of this book. That's a sign that Palin's pop celebrity status is waning, and it's a good sign for America.

Nostradamus has nothing on me.

Though let's face it, how hard was it REALLY to figure that out?

A quick skimming of SarahPAC's 2nd quarter earnings. Well looky here.

Well on the plus side (For Palin that is) it looks like the PAC made about twice as much in this quarter as it did in the last quarter:

Sarah Palin's political action committee has reported a robust increase in money raised during the second quarter of 2012 compared with the first quarter.

According to a filing Friday with the Federal Election Commission, Palin's SarahPAC raised more than $750,000 from April through June and spent more than $579,000.

By contrast, the first quarter contribution level of about $386,400 was among the lowest reported by the PAC in a quarterly filing. In that quarter, the PAC spent about $418,400.

Palin also contributed about $15,000 to teabagging Senate candidates, unlike the last quarter where she gave none.

All in all she gave $5,000 each to Richard Mourdock, Deb Fischer, and Ted Cruz. Essentially just enough to continue to claim this is a political action committee. (Yeah right!)

Palin kept on many of her old "staff members" like Tim Crawford, Jason Recher, Peter Schweizer, and of course RAM.

However there is something odd about her payments to Mansour, in that it appears that RAM refused to cash two $8,000 she received in April, then received replacement checks, but refused to cash two other checks (Or perhaps the same ones, I'm a little unclear), one in April and the other in May for the same amount.

I am not exactly sure what to make of that, if anything, but she did manage to accept two $6,000 checks without any difficultly and apparently was also flown up for a little face to face conversation with the queen in June.

Palin also paid Carol Ryan $5,000 for "clerical work." And Marilyn Lane $7,500 for the same.  As we have established in the past I think that this is more likely something more to do with the care and feeding of certain family props then anything to do with filing or typing.

However once again the BIG money spent by SarahPAC was in the form of "postage."

SarahPAC paid just under a whopping $276,000 in what is labeled "postage." Now I don't want to suggest that there is any money laundering going on but...seriously?

I was not exactly surprised to see that the contributions went up slightly as I am sure that after the last quarter's embarrassment, the few remaining delusional Palin supporters were inspired to dig under their couch seat cushions for more spare change to PROVE that she is still relevant. (You will note however, according to this, that ONLY a handful of Alaskans are still brain damaged enough to send this idiot money.)

I still remain dumbfounded at the ignorance of some people to continue supporting such an openly manipulative, and spiteful woman as Klondike Kardashain, but I guess by now I should know better.

A number of Fox Business hosts lose their timeslot in massive reorganization. Now why do these names sound familiar?

"Okay, I see what you are doing here. But you can't PROVE I had anything to do with this!
 Courtesy of Business Wire:

FOX Business Network (FBN) will debut a new primetime schedule featuring encore presentations of the channel’s top post-market programs, announced Kevin Magee, Executive Vice President of the network. Starting February 20th at 8 PM/ET, viewers will find additional airings of The Willis Report (5PM & 8PM/ET), Cavuto (6PM & 9PM/ET) and Lou Dobbs Tonight (7PM & 10PM/ET). The new lineup will replace FreedomWatch with Judge Andrew Napolitano, Power & Money with David Asman and Follow the Money with Eric Bolling.

Wow! That is kind of an aggressive reorganization for a network to undertake all at once. Don'tcha think?

I wonder what happened that made these folks no longer viable in their time slots?

Hmm, Napolitano, Asman, and Bolling.  Why do those names sound SO familiar?

Oh yeah, now I remember.

January 23, 2012, Eric Bolling interviews Sarah Palin.

January 30, 2012, Andrew Napolitano interviews Sarah Palin.

February 2, 2012, David Asman interviews Sarah Palin.

Well let's be serious, there is NO real way for us to connect the fact that these second string hosts just interviewed Palin recently to the end of their jobs.  Right?

I mean it is probably just a coincidence. Right?

Of course it is...probably.  However if I were Hannity, Van Susteren, Kelly, Pirro,  O' Reilly, or any other of the Fox employees who had recently been exposed to the "Palin curse," I would be watching my back.

I'm just saying.

So, besides CPAC, where is the Grizzled One scheduled to appear next?

Really? What the hell IS the International-Dairy-Dell-Bakery-Association?

What do you do when you just can't wrestle one of your road kill inspired wigs into submission long enough to staple it to your head? Well you phone it in of course! Right Sarah?

"Oooh ouch! This thing on my head bit me!"
Apparently Palin has become so irrelevant that she now has to be interviewed by one of the Megyn Kelly blonde clones that Fox has such an overabundance of around the studios.

However Palin does not consider this low rent bimbo worthy enough to go through all of the trouble to try and hide her herpes sores and put on one of her Bozo the Clown wigs, so "suddenly" the very expensive TV studio Fox News built for Snowdrift Snooki goes on the blink.

If you can force yourself to listen until the 5:30 mark, THAT is when Palin gushes like a horny little school girl about Tim Tebow.

However even though Palin is beyond irrelevant to much of America she still has enough juice to convince producer Mark Burnett to provide cover for her, by announcing that he is too thinking about putting her back on television:

Last week, reports surfaced that TLC and other networks balked at a new $1 million-per-episode spin-off series featuring Palin’s husband on the professional snowmobiling circuit.

“That is totally inaccurate,” Burnett insists. “In fact, the idea around snowmobiling was to be part of an episode in ‘Sarah Palin’s Alaska’ — not a series.”

“Sarah Palin’s Alaska” premiered in November 2010 to more than 5 million viewers. “It was the number one premiere ever on TLC,” Burnett notes.

That may be, but of course that was back when people still were fooled into believing this bizarre person might actually make a run for the White House,

But now....what's that wonderful quote again?

“I think it is safe to say her time has passed,” a network source told the Hollywood Reporter.

That's the one!

Look the woman cannot even get herself together for a simple Fox News interview, and we have been watching her deteriorate for months now, does anybody really think she can apply enough Spackle, tubs of lip gloss, and fright wigs to make herself presentable for an entire season of SPA part deux?

Yeah, me either.
