If CNN and NBC go forward with their Hillary Clinton film projects the RNC threatens to take their ball and go home.

Courtesy of Mediaite:

Republican National Committee Chairman Reince Priebus sent letters to CNN and NBC Monday morning, informing them that their production of proposed Hillary Clinton film projects could lead to the Republican Party refusing to partner with them on 2016 presidential debates.

Calling the networks’ actions “disturbing and disappointing,” Priebus warned that CNN’s “credibility as a supposedly unbiased news network will most certainly be jeopardized by the decision to show political favoritism” for Clinton, while “the credibility of NBC News, already damaged by the partisanship of MSNBC, will be further undermined by the actions of NBC Universal executives who have taken it upon themselves to produce an extended commercial for Secretary Clinton’s nascent campaign.”

God I am laughing so hard I can barely type this!

So to be clear, "Rinse once and Preibus" is threatening to NOT allow the GOP debates to happen on the most popular network in the country, and the only other cable news outlet, besides Fox, which will not have Rachel Maddow and Chris Matthews doing the play by play?

And while this is happening Hillary will have movies about her showing up on a number of the networks, interviews on all the others, and political ads running 24/7?

And WHO is this supposed to hurt?

You know most of us still remember the never ending Republican debates from 2012.

By the end the only people still tuning in were family members, pundits, and bookies betting on which one would say the next incredibly stupid thing.

Let's face it the RNC needs NBC and CNN way more than THEY need the RNC.

Which begs the question, is there anybody in the GOP these days who is not a fucking toddler?

Didn't the quitter queen have one made before the 2012 election? Did the dnc threaten to boycott the debates?

Shouldn't that movie be titled 'The Defeated'? It would be more appropriate.

Ha, it was a different matter when "Game Change" was screened to benefit the GOP...

    oops.

OK, fine... so LET "Rinse" take the ball and stay home. It would be so much fun to see a televised debate with the Democrat at one podium and an empty chair behind the other podium... It worked so well for Clint Eastwood, remember?

It's time for Rinse to get creamed. Apparently all the potential GOP debaters are believed by him to be so inept that he'd rather the public not even see them. How utterly hilarious that he would scorch and burn on his own potential candidates in this way, since they are the ones who would be harmed.

Rinse: "We know how hard you laughed at us last time, so we decided to pick up our toys and go home to keep that from happenin' agin' (sniff, sniff)."

This isn't even about a Presidential debate. It's about one of the myriad of worthless evenings when the GOP debates itself before every freakin' primary. I hope they televise them nowhere...they did nothing but make them all look foolish..oh wait...let's have MORE this time.

With a name like Reince Priebus and the personality of congealed oatmeal, he must have been picked on a lot as a child.

Unfortunately for us, he's still behaving like a child.

"I'm going to hold my breath until you promise not to broadcast any shows about that mean lady...or until I turn blue. So there."

Then again, maybe it's not such a bad thing to keep reminding the American public that the GOP is a bunch of spoiled, stubborn, uncooperative, nasty little children who can't play well with others and who throw temper tantrums when they don't get their way.

  6. We demand equal time for Sarah Palin.

If NBC shows Game Change instead of the GOP debates, I'll watch the damn movie 7 or 8 more times!

Rinse this, Prius. Palin/Rubio 2016 or whatnot.

Oh, and all the while they have FOX as their Republican media outlet. Give me a friggin' break! They are AFRAID of Hillary and know they have no one that can stand against her should she run for POTUS. And, I so hope she does! She'll win hands down and then they'll have another 8 years of a Dem in the White House.

    YEA!!!!!

"Game Change" shows the idiot and fraud Palin was and continues to be today.

She could NEVER debate Hillary Clinton and will never have the opportunity to do so! Makes me laugh just thinking about it.

The jokes almost write themselves. Don't sweat the small stuff, Rinse. You'll ALWAYS have Fox News, The 700 Club and any and all late nite comedians.

Way to go, GOP. Threaten two major news organizations.
Look, we all had to endure your 47 debates in 2011-2012. It's not our fault that your lineup consisted of Newt, Rick, Rick, that pizza guy and Mitt. Oh, and Michele ("I must have an an inoculation, because it made me crazy") Bachmann. And some more that we've mercifully forgotten.

Get your act together, Republicans, and maybe you'll make some legitimate news that's worth covering. Until then, enjoy talking to yourselves. NBC and CNN will save money by not giving you free air time and, instead, will be showing reruns of movie of the week.

Considering how the last round of Republican debates played out, it is clearly in the GOP's best interests to ensure nobody gets to see them this time.

And don't forget, remove the vowels from Reince Priebus and you have RNC PR BS

In the vein of GOP toddlers, I saw a Facebook posting that shows Michele Bachmann having said on Fox channel that "if every American owned a gun, we could save trillions of dollars by doing away with all law enforcement in America."

For an encore, I bet she'll ask, in an Emily Lutilla voice (Gilda Radner on SNL) "...and what's all this fuss about using toilet paper? You must know its just going to get all nasty down there, again, a little while later."

Meanwhile, Perry was at an event in Louisiana announcing his potential 2016 run, and he made some comment about how wonderful the people are 'here in Florida.' "We're in Louisiana!" someone in the audience called out. You can't make this stuff up. I predict we're going to see the same cast of clowns in 2016,minus Bachmann, plus Christie, with the same result :a bunch of whining idiots trying to make points bashing Obama instead of bulding up Americans. Good luck with that GOP..and your reworking of the message is going so well.

CNN To RNC: ‘Premature’ Decision To Limit Debates Is The ‘Ultimate Disservice’ To Voters

...While NBC News said it was not involved with their respective project, which is commissioned by NBC Entertainment, CNN's statement to the Huffington Post was much more confrontational:

CNN Films, a division of CNN Worldwide, commissioned a documentary about Hillary Clinton earlier this year. It is expected to premiere in 2014 with a theatrical run prior to airing on CNN. This documentary will be a non-fiction look at the life of a former First Lady and Secretary of State. Instead of making premature decisions about a project that is in the very early stages of development and months from completion, we would encourage the members of the Republican National Committee to reserve judgment until they know more. Should they decide not to participate in debates on CNN, we would find it curious, as limiting their debate participation seems to be the ultimate disservice to voters.

On the contrary. Limiting their debate participation is brilliant..the fewer people who see the clown car ina ction, the more likely that flier in your mailbox is not thrown away in disgust. Think about it. If you don't see the puzzlement on Perry's face over women being raped on the highway by his state highway patrol, why, dod it ever happen? If you don't see the smug smile of Ryan over trying to end all help for the poor, did he actually believe it? Less is more. (Not that it will help this bunch of evil greedy SOBs.)

Just when you think they've plumbed the depths of GOP Crazy, you read this:

"Cathie Adams served as chair of the Texas Republican Party for the larger part of a year between 2009 and 2010. Now she's railing against immigration reform, citing her belief that it will lead to an identification system indicative of biblical End Times."

What the hell is in the water in Texas?????

  20. Won't let them air the debates.

    Oooo. Now there's a threat.

    Not.

They should tell the RNC "bite me" and then make as many as they want and air them all continuously.

While they're at it, they should make a few documentaries on Republicans airing some laundry and opening some closets while they're at it. I look forward to a revealing docudrama on Issa the arsonist car thief.

    I am confused.

Hillary Clinton is already a part of history and it should be a surprise to no one that documentaries have been/are/will be made of her life and contributions. To many she is a true hero.

Unlike Ronald Reagan who was a paid actor and whose movies and films *depicting him as a hero* shown all throughout his political career - including during election seasons.

Funny I don't recall the RNC putting up a stink back then...
