Christian Right Whines Upon Learning That School Teaches Children About All Religions

According to the United States Constitution, public institutions are prohibited from endorsing any particular religious viewpoint. So when a public school covers all major religions as part of the curriculum, it’s not an issue because no single religion is being touted over others. When conservative Christians discovered a Kansas public school treating all religions equally in this fashion, they whined about it.

Minneha Core Knowledge Magnet Elementary school in Wichita, Kansas takes great pride in giving their students a well-rounded education. As part of that education, students are required to learn about the historical, cultural, and geographical context of Christianity, Judaism, Hinduism, Buddhism and Islam. According to the Wichita Eagle, the effort to teach about all religions included a bulletin board outside a fourth grade classroom depicting the Five Pillars of Islam. Unfortunately, one conservative took offense, snapped a photo and plastered it on Facebook to further their right-wing agenda.

The problem with trees is that nobody has figured out how to make money off of the oxygen they generate.
