George Zimmerman’s wife has filed for divorce after speculation the couple was on the rocks, MyFoxOrlando.com reports.
The station says George Zimmerman’s brother Robert Zimmerman confirmed the split.
Questions emerged on the state of the couple’s marriage after Zimmerman was a no-show last week at Shellie Zimmerman’s court appearance for a perjury charge related to his murder case.
Shellie Zimmerman pleaded guilty to lying at a bail hearing after her husband’s arrest. She was sentenced to a year's probation and 100 hours of community service.
Yeah. personally I think it is pretty reasonable to end a marriage to a guy who kills unarmed teenagers in the dark.
And don't forget that there is a book coming out, on which Shellie Zimmerman cooperated, which might undermine Zimmerman's acquittal.
It seems like the smart choice to be as far from the pudgy murderer as possible when THAT comes out.
I don't blame her. Not only is he a fat faced murderer it seems he can't stay out of trouble.

I don't believe in karma, but this fool's lack of impulse control and sense of invincibility (just two of a long list of personality defects) may be his undoing. He's a time-bomb. And the real tragedy (again) is someone will probably be hurt or killed in the process.

ReplyDeleteShelly has stated that she believes the killing was in self defense. Doesn't mean she wants to stay married. They apparently were in trouble before the Martin incident. Good for her to hang in there until the trial was over.
ReplyDeleteWhy good for her? She has suggested he was abusive and she got into a lot of trouble for lying for him. It would have been better for her to get out before the trial. How do you know she wasn't coerced or threatened to wait until after the trial?

ReplyDeleteno. there will be no new charges, federal or state. it is over. he is acquitted, not guilty, of any charges related to trayvon martins death. the state has already embarrassed itself by prosecuting this un-winnable case, which is why the police never charged zimmerman to begin with. the special prosecuter even bypassed a grand jury hearing to bring charges as they knew a grand jury wouldn't charge him either, as the facts bore this to be a justified self defense homicide.

You are correct. He is Not Guilty of second degree murder. That does NOT mean it is over for him. Not by a long shot.

leland. charging zimmerman with a federal hate-crime laws would defy the findings of the fbi which cleared zimmerman of any racial bias over a year ago. there will not be any federal charge. holder had an amateur moment and needlessly prolonged peoples anticipation. expect the case to quietly be closed on a federal level near the end of obamas tenure.
Deletea wrongful death civil trial could be thrown out immediately by a judge, as zimmerman has already been aquitted of any crime due to self defense- and could be considered immune from civil proceedings. however even if it went to trial, for the same reason it would be hard to win. but it is more likely to never be filed- as any and all unsavory information regarding trayvon, his recent troubled past including violence, his parents and their personal lives, as well as how they managed as parents, would be fair game. lastly, there is nothing to prevent zimmerman from countering by filing a civil suit against the martins for his damages.
the future of zimmerman- well thats up to him. i'm not a fan of george, but i am a fan of reality and proper application of the law.

ReplyDeleteIf the Zimmerman's had more money to earn and protect they could be miserably attached like Todd and Sarah Palin appear behind their masks. Can you imagine if one Palin was free enough to speak out, and they didn't lie?
We don't know what Shellie is keeping secret. She may have been a dutiful wife that never exposed if he hit or beat her.

I think he's lost a ton of weight since the trial. It has been suggested he gained wait to look less threatening.

ReplyDeleteI don't know what she was thinking when she lied to a judge, but she got off pretty easy. I'm not buying anything with her name on it, look who she married in the first place. I just don't trust her judgment. If she lied to a judge, who's to say she won't lie in a book?
