Sarah Palin shamelessly uses the tragic events of 9-11 to fund raise.

Image borrowed from Sarah Palin's Facebook page.
Courtesy of shameless attention whore's Facebook page:

Never forget.

Never forget what? To send money to your PAC so that you can buy more botox or ugly ass wigs?

You know I have to admit that when I first saw this image I thought, just maybe, that Palin had skipped putting the SarahPAC logo on it.

But then I saw it hidden in the corner at the bottom, blended in so it would not be so obvious, but there nonetheless.

3,000 Americans dies that day, and over 5,000 have died in the two wars that the attacks inspired.

Those people did NOT die so that Sarah Palin could use the heartbreaking event to line her own pockets!

      It's NOT a free image:

Fundraising is definitely not an editorial use. Use without permission + no copyright notice + an infringer with deep pockets = nice copyright infringement lawsuit. Which happens in Federal court if the infringing party is dumb enough not to settle. Somebody might want to notify The Record and Getty (*wink* *wink*).

It doesn't just blend in, it is tiny as shit! like, "oh, if i make it small enough, no one will notice but I'll still feel self-righteous enough by having it on there."

I will never forget that in 2001, I had never heard of a Palin, and life was so much better! Yes, 9-11 was a tragedy, but seriously, are we going to drag these families through public remembrances until all the survivors are dead? And when the GOP uses it for gain, that is just sick. Plenty of people die every single day, and all are tragic.

I'm with you. I'm so fucking sick and tired of the yearly remembrance of America being caught with our pants down. Can we just move on now?

Now if we were commemorating the shitty treatment of all the first responders and the denial of health benefits, I could get into some rallies about that.

Exactly. Instead of moaning about the attacks, let's help the first responders and the soldiers who have come home maimed for life, physically and mentally. Instead of beating more war drums, let's work for peace around the world.

While the clips from some of the news programs may be fair game, I am willing to bet that The Colbert Report (and Comedy Central/Viacom) did not authorize her to use the clip in her video and hopefully he/they will sue the pants off of her.

12:43 -- now we know you read IM, little troll. We brought up the concept of copyrighted photos, and, lo and behold, now you claim it's fair to use a public-domain picture for fundraising. You're learning.

But you miss the whole concept, tiny troll. It's not that she *can* use it, but that she's *is* using a photo that evokes many different and deep memories in order to RAISE MONEY for herself. She's pimping out the sacrifice made by the civilians, first responders and military who died that day in order to line her own pockets. That's despicable.

Do we know of any other politician so shameless? Aside from Rudy Guiliani, Mr. noun-verb-9-11. Even he's learned to tone it down, and is, thankfully, fading from view.

Our country was in wars for almost twelve years in order to respond to that horrific day. There will continue to be great debate about how and why and whether we should have been. Thousands of our military and civilian contractors lost their lives, or were permanently maimed, in those wars. Hundreds of thousands of civilians in Iraq and Afghanistan have died in that time.

We do not need Sarah Palin's shameless exploitation of these tragedies. We want her to return to what she is -- an unemployed sociopath who has nothing to remember about Sept. ll, other than that her parents flew from Alaska to New York to make money catching rats at the landfill where the World Trade Center debris was taken. That's an image I'll never forget!

the picture might be public domain (if the photographer signed away his rights) but that doesn't negate any rights the people pictured in it have. Columbia records was successfully sued by a policeman who was working concert security decades ago...a photo that showed him by the stage was included in the artist's CD booklet. Despite the permission given by the photographer to use the photo, the policeman was not consulted, and he got the $$$.

Please please please people, don't let Sarah Palin trample over your rights.

To the troll at 12:43 It's too bad that you write something that stupid to defend Sarah without knowing the truth of the matter. Here is the story behind the photo: http://blog.onemodelplace.com/2011/09/08/story-behind-iconic-image-of-firemen-raising-flag-during-911/

And this is what the Bergen, NJ Record decided to do with that iconic image:
The Record itself received 30,000 requests to reprint the photograph, which the paper initially granted if they were not for profit. Among the requests from commercial concerns were to reprint it on shirts and three-dimensional music boxes.

The periodical stopped the gratis distribution and instead asked for donations to its disaster fund. The money was distributed to charities selected by McWilliams, Johnson and Eisengrein. She is not allow to use that image for fundraising for her PAC. It would have been nice if Sarah just honored the day and the remembrance without adding her PAC logo. But, it's always about the money for her. And, no, it's not a free country, and Sarah can't just appropriate anything that she wants. It's time for her to shut up.

Dear 2:37 -- It'll be interesting to know if the copyright holders of this picture think no one cares about who owns the image. Sarah stole it -- plain and simple. She's using it for commercial purposes and has no right to do so.

If we took a photo of you, troll, and put it out to raise money for ourselves, you could rightly sue. if we used one of Sarah's crazy facebook pictures, on Lake Powell, or in her new camo outfit, in order to show the world how nuts she is -- and ask for money to combat her nuttiness, we'd be violating the law.

We're smarter and more connected than you, little troll, and the few Palin bots who'd follow her off the edge of a cliff. You may not care about the legalities of Sarah's actions, but the outside world does -- outside your Wasilla compound.

3:10 There is a bit of clarification needed. If the troll is at a public event and are captured as the crowd, there would be some possibility for using it as there is no expectation of privacy if they are at a public event or in a public place.

Also, if the troll is Sarah or other Palin, one could argue that since they are public people and "celebrities" their images could be used. Similar to the way politicians use "the other guy's" videos in their campaign if it makes the other person look bad, etc.

Best idea--run any fundraising materials past an attorney--especially if you are someone who might be "sue-able" like the Palins.

But wait, with all the cutbacks, they probably don't have the attorneys on auto dial anymore.

Child-abusing Christian cult screams ‘persecution’ after police rescue 40 German childen

AN OUTFIT called the The Twelve Tribes, which has a history of beating Jesus into children, has expressed outrage over a police raid in Bavaria that resulted in the removal of 40 children from parents who are members of the cult.

    According to the cult’s website:

On 5 September 2013 at 6 am in the morning, 40 children were taken away from the loving and nurturing parents of the Community of Believers in Wornitz and Klosterzimmern. Under allegations of abuse, custody was taken away from the parents. The believers in the Community do not practice abuse, but rather deeply and affectionately love their children, as the word of God, good sense, and love itself would command.

This is how “deeply and affectionately” they love their children:

The little blond-haired boy is about four years old. He simpers as a middle aged woman drags him downstairs into a dimly-lit cellar and orders the child to bend over and touch the stone floor with his hands. Another little boy watches as the woman pulls down the first boy’s pants and then draws out a willow cane.

‘Say you are tired!’ commands the woman in an emotionless voice. The swoosh of the willow cane is audible as it strikes the screaming child’s bottom three times. The little boy refuses to say he is tired so he is hit again and again – a total of ten times – until, in floods of tears, he finally says ‘I am tired’.

Within the space of a few hours, six adults are filmed in the cellar and in an underground school central heating room beating six children with a total of 83 strokes of the cane.

The extract above is from a report in the Independent a day after the horrific scenes were shown on Germany’s RTL television. The footage was filmed by Wolfram Kuhnigk, an RTL journalist equipped with hidden video cameras and microphones, who infiltrated a 100-strong religious community run by the fundamentalist sect in Bavaria earlier this year.

...Because of its beliefs, the sect refuses to put any of its children through the public school system as it works against the leader’s teachings. As a result, Twelve Tribes has come under attack by the local authorities, who revoked its education license, because the Bavarian ministry for education found the Twelve Tribes at Klosterzimmern to be unfit to teach, thus forcing some of the children to attend state school by law.

One former member, who wishes to remain nameless, offered 89 reasons why he left Twelve Tribes. His 26th points out that while many parents punish their children as a last resort, the Twelve Tribes tend to do it as a first resort.

The parents strike their children on outstretched palms or bare buttocks with long thin flexible sticks. Foolishness, joke telling, laughing or making faces often results in ‘discipline’ for these young children.

Another father, who was reportedly made to watch his daughter being beaten for seven hours, eventually left the cult with his wife.

Spriggs’ views are set out in Execution of Justice Teaching, a book in which he suggests that one who does not spare the rod must hate their child:

Unless your son had blue wounds, by this standard, you know what kind of a standard is in you – it is the spirit that hates your son. If one is overly concerned about his son receiving blue marks you know that he hates his son and hates the word of God.

Members of the sect are claiming that they are descended from early Christians. They also produce their own food and electricity and the females of the sect are subservient to the males.

This picture has become iconic because it echoes the famous photo of the flag being raised by Marines at Iwo Jima. (That was in World War II, Sarah. Can you tell us where Iwo Jima is on a map, and why its recapture was an important event?)

But our wounds are too raw, the event is too close, for a shameless politician to be making money from the terrible loss our country felt that day, and continues to feel for the soldiers and civilians who've died in response to that terrorist attack.

I worked on Wall Street and used to go over on my lunch hour to watch the Trade Center being built. One of my best friends was working in the south tower. Another friend had an office there, but was uptown at a breakfast meeting and was scheduled to get in late on that Tuesday morning. Another woman, whose wedding I'd attended the month before, was just back at work from her honeymoon. She escaped down the stairs, but one of her co-workers went back for her pocketbook, and was never seen again.
Another friend lived nearby, and went out of his building only to realize that there were bodies of people jumping from the towers, landing in front of him. I can remember the eerie calm that overtook us when there were no airplanes in the sky for several days. When the dust clouds choked us, even miles away.
The brother of someone I know is the designer of the lights that mimic the towers, and have again been lit up at ground zero.
We can only quietly contemplate that day, and all the days that have followed.
It is and was an event very specific, for those who experienced it, and, generally, for all those in this country and abroad who realized our vulnerability. There were bombings in London and Madrid in later years. There will continue to be threats, here and abroad.

But that's for us all to acknowledge. It's our day, not Sarah Palin's, no matter how much she thrusts herself into a solemn remembrance with her begging bowl out, to make money for herself.

The definition of a sociopath includes a total inability to feel shame. For that reason, as demonstrated today, and for all the other instances that define Sarah Palin, we know that she's a dangerous person. She's a terrorist on her own -- she doesn't hesitate to attack verbally, and to flash around her guns, in order to show the rest of us how dangerous she is. She is perfectly happy to talk violence, and incite it in others.

In reality, she's not worthy of any participation in today's events, and has no legitimate place in the national dialogue on this or any other matter.

That's a beautiful statement, ans some of the words ring true, so true. Sarah is a terrorist on her own, not hesitating to attack verbally and to flash around her guns. She inflames the fringe who follow her. Yes, she is very dangerous.

Palin never spent one moment expressing sorrow for the innocent victims of Syria's poison gas attack. There are other people in the news who suffered terrible attacks, for example, Malala Yousafzai, the Pakistani teenager who was shot in the head last year for advocating education for girls like herself. Not a word from Palin, but she did make sure that a child with cystic fibrosis went to the head of the transplant line, ahead of adults and children who had been waiting and following rules. (The child had two transplants, not just one). We haven't seen Palin donate her services to DS organizations. Why bother? To quote Todd Palin, "What's in it for us?" I'll tell you what's in it for Palin. Sticking her logo on any photo to beg for money. That's the only thing that does touch her heart.

No, that's not in the spirit of the photo and its intended use. Sarah says that she will keep on doing sh*t until the courts tell her to stop. It's time for the court of public opinion to tell Sarah to stop using other images for her PAC fund raising. It's time for Sarah to shut up and get back in the truck.

    Found this on goodreads.

An excerpt from the book The Grifters:

“How to make her run? No problem there. For a fearful shadow lies constantly over the residents of Uneasy Street. It casts itself through the ostensibly friendly handshake, or the gorgeously wrapped package. It beams out from the baby's carriage, the barber's chair, the beauty parlor. Every neighbor is suspect, every outsider, every period; even one's own husband or wife of sweetheart. There is no ease on Uneasy Street. The longer one's tenancy, the more untenable it becomes.”

      ---------------
No, Anonymous 2:33, it is not acceptable to do so without permission. Even without the copyright logo, an original work is in fact, copyrighted. Unless it is explicitly in the public domain, you must get permission to use it. How do you know if it is free to use? You research the issue.

If in doubt, find something else to use.

The exception is fair use (limited use for the purpose of critiquing, teaching, etc.). Using someone else's work without permission to make money does not fall under fair use.

In the case of this picture, its provenance and ownership was readily available.

Palin could easily have obtained permission and acknowledged it on the picture. If she was not granted permission, then she stole someone else's work for her own purposes.

It is a clear demonstration of her lack of morals and ethics.

I work in a university and academic integrity, intellectual property, copyright, and plagiarism issues are taken very seriously.

On this sad day, while we take time to remember the 300 New Yorkers who died, the 5000 plus US troops killed, and the over one million Iraqis and Afghans killed in two senseless wars, we should also take the time to re-examine the evidence as to how the events of 12 years ago occurred, and who was and was not responsible.

Let’s take a minute to re-acquaint ourselves with the official explanation, which is not regarded as a conspiracy theory despite the fact that it comprises an amazing conspiracy. The official truth is that a handful of young Muslim Arabs who could not fly airplanes, mainly Saudi Arabians who came neither from Iraq nor from Afghanistan, outwitted not only the CIA and the FBI, but all 16 US intelligence agencies and all intelligence agencies of US allies, including Israel’s Mossad, which is believed to have penetrated every terrorist organization and which carries out assassinations of those whom Mossad marks as terrorists.

In addition to outwitting every intelligence agency of the United States and its allies, the handful of young Saudi Arabians outwitted the National Security Council, the State Department, NORAD, airport security four times in the same hour on the same morning, air traffic control, caused the US Air Force to be unable to launch interceptor aircraft, and caused three well-built steel-structured buildings, including one not hit by an airplane, to fail suddenly in a few seconds as a result of limited structural damage and small, short-lived, low-temperature fires that burned on a few floors.

The Saudi terrorists were even able to confound the laws of physics and cause WTC building 7 to collapse at free fall speed for several seconds, a physical impossibility in the absence of explosives used in controlled demolition.

Most of the time those who question the Official Conspiracy Theory are they themselves labeled "conspiracy theorists" and thereby dismissed often by labeling as "tin foil hatters," despite the fact that the OCT is the most improbable theory of all. David Ray Griffin addresses the failure of progressives to challenge the OCT in this well reasoned and exhaustively footnoted article: http://globalresearch.ca/index.php?context=va&aid=20039

    Or check out these sites:

    http://www.journalof911studies.com/volume/2010/ChandlerDownwardAccelerationOfWTC1.pdf
    and
    http://www.journalof911studies.com/volume/200609/WhyIndeedDidtheWorldTradeCenter BuildingsCompletelyCollapse.pdf

The Official story on the damage to the Pentagon does not stand up to close scrutiny either. There is great debate about what happened there, but much of the available evidence does not support a large jetliner crashing into the building. There are no photographs of any large jetplane from any source, which is quite strange considering the Pentagon is one of the most highly defended structures in the world. The damage to the building is inconsistent with the kind of damage one would expect from that type of impact.
    See:
    http://physics911.net/pdf/honegger.pdf and http://www.physics911.net/missingwings and http://www.physics911.net/omholt

There simply is no credible evidence to support the official story. It is a myth which has led us to endless wars, huge profits for the war industry, curtailing of our civil liberties, NSA spying, the Patriot Act, and many, many needless deaths of US soldiers, Afghans, and Iraqis. People need to wake up. Read David Ray Griffin's books The New Pearl Harbor, or Debunking 9-11 Debunkers, or his book on WTC 7, and/or research numerous areas available to all with a computer or a library nearby.

Only by understanding the past can we be prepared for the future.

Yes, Like AT&T, Sarah Palin Branded Her 9/11 Remembrance Photo

by DAVID BADASH on SEPTEMBER 11, 2013

Well, Sarah Palin isn’t getting much heat for her disgusting branding of her 9/11 “advermorial,” but she should be.

Take a look at the image. In the lower right hand corner, Palin put a SarahPAC logo.

Really? Not even just her name, but her fundraising super PAC. There should be outrage.“Those people did NOT die so that Sarah Palin could use the heartbreaking event to line her own pockets!,” the Immoral Minority writes.

If companies, celebrities, and politicians want to tastefully commemorate the September 11 attacks, of course there’s nothing wrong with that. (Comedian Joe Mande is retweeting many of them today on Twitter — take a look.)

But product placement or branding your “commemoration” makes it an ad — and that means you’re trying to make money off the deaths of the 9/11 victims and their families. And that’s disgusting.AT&T apologized, by the way. Palin, well, don’t expect one from “Mama Grizzly.”

Here are a few more examples, including one from defeated Republican politician Mia Love’s.

(Oh, and by the way, Palin used a photograph that’s copyrighted, so, there’s that.)

if someone wanted to give money to alleviate suffering, they could give it to Doctors Without Borders or the Red Cross: Two organizations that really do give almost all their donations to help reduce suffering. You can specify that your donation goes to Syrian refugee camps, if that's your main focus.

Putting aside all the crass political fights here -- there are children and families dying there of cholera, thyphus, and dirty water that's filled with sewage. That's where all of us can help -- and where a donation to SarahPac does not.

If you want more of your money to go to actual relief of those suffering, do not give to Samaritan's Purse, either, which has a terribly high record of administration costs. You want to be funding vital medical and food care for the indigent -- not private jets and fancy hotels for those "Christians."

It's time to be secular. It's time to help.

SarahPac has repetitive high administration costs too but they hide it by paying their employees under the category of consultants. Don't believe me? Look at at their FEC reports. That's a pretty shady way of hiding it.

Did Crawford, Mansour and all the rest of their SarahPac's regulars make more money (or close to it) than what SarahPac took in donations during their last filing? That's not a smart way to run a business, making enough money to make payroll. Sarah must be scrambling to come uo with a new scheme to make money? Is that why Sarah posted the 9/11 poster with her SarahPac name?

MAY DAY MAY DAY this is the SarahPac we are taking on water and sinking fast. Send donations ASAP. We have to meet payroll.

SarahPac spent more money than the loot they took in.

      Total Receipts $460,538
      Total Spent $496,506

Correction @8:24, if you take in their "REGULAR" monthly consultants (your Mansours, Crawfords and all their "REGULAR" LLCs (who shall remain nameless) and all their other expenses then it looks like SarahPac took a loss.

We will be contacting her and I thank you for bringing it to my attention.
