On the stand, Dr. Bao changed his testimony about key statements he'd made and said he'd changed his mind about Martin only being alive for as many as three minutes after the shooting.
"I believe he was alive one to 10 minutes after he was shot. His heart was beating until there was no blood left," Bao said.
Dr. Bao is dropping another bombshell -- his attorney is preparing a $100 million lawsuit.
Through his high-profile attorney, he claims the medical examiner, state attorney's office, and Sanford Police Department were all biased against Martin.
"He says their general attitude was that he got what he deserved," Attorney Willie Gary told Channel 9.
Gary said Dr. Bao was made to be a scapegoat and was wrongfully fired from the medical examiner's office.
He said his client was prepared to offer proof that Martin was not the aggressor.
"He was in essence told to zip his lips. 'Shut up. Don't say those things,'" Gary said.
Gary said prosecutors never asked Dr. Bao a question crucial to their case.
"He wanted a question that would have allowed him to explain to the jury with scientific evidence how there was no way Trayvon Martin could have been on top of George Zimmerman," Gary said.
"NO way that Trayvon Martin should have been on top of George Zimmerman." Holy shit!
Goddamn it I knew it!
Okay if this pans out and Dr. Bao has the evidence that he claims to have then the Marin family can sue the state of Florida for untold millions of dollars.
And I hope they do, and I also hope that George Zimmerman ends up sharing a prison cell with the biggest meanest inmate in the Florida justice system with "Trayvon Martin" tattooed on his 18 inch biceps.
(H/T to Politicususa.)
Question: Unless the Feds charge him with violation of civil rights or something, on what charge can the state of Florida arrest and convict him that might put him in jail? Just because the STATE didn't do a good job does NOT mean he can be tried again for 2nd degree murder!
ReplyDeleteAs for suing the state? Oh yeah. IF the Dr. can PROVE what he says - not to mention is ALLOWED to prove it. Whether or not he WILL BE, is another question.
Since the state of Florida did a deliberately, massively faulty job of prosecuting Z, (at least, according to the good doctor, anyway) what makes you think he will be allowed an honest chance to even bring the evidence forward?
Trayvon's family should sue Zimmerman for wrongful death, the way that Fred Goldman sued OJ and won in civil court. No, Zimmerman won't go to prison, but he will be as handcuffed as OJ was. Every penny that he makes will have to pay the Martin family. And, the burden of proof is lower in civil court, and Zimmerman will have to testify.
DeleteSeems more like the Dr. is a quack and was fired for insubordination or poor work quality, and has a chip on his shoulder... no offense, but changing a professional opinion on the stand does not bode as 'professionalism'. Dr. quack is hoping for a big retirement settlement on a high publicity case. 100 million in damages? What are his 100 mill in damages exactly?
DeleteNo federal case is coming. No civil trial will hold water- and probably will never be filed for reasons nobody here wants to believe.
the Dr. doesn't get to choose the questions he is asked. it is entirely possible his opinions and answers on certain questions asked might have been shredded by the defense entirely- and the prosecution knew this. That's why he is a Dr. and not an attorney.
Just like 6:11 said. Plus Zimmerman will probably lose his marbles just like OJ if GZ loses a civil trial.
DeleteI've thought exactly this for quite a while, but didn't want to be pegged as a conspiracy theorist. Beginning to feel vindicated.
ReplyDeleteGee, ya think?
ReplyDeleteI can believe the fix was in, because letting a concrete rock into evidence as a stand-in for the sidewalk is beyond a jaw-dropper.
ReplyDeleteSo true! The CAD generated re enactment with Trayvon throwing the first punch at Zimmerman was another fiasco.
DeleteEieeh! First I heard of that, didn't closely follow. Oh well--“If the glove doesn't fit, you must acquit!"
DeleteNoooooo the cellmate should have TRAYVON MARTIN tattooed on his 18" penis.
ReplyDeleteThat would work for me :)
-Oz
If he has an 18" penis he doesn't belong in prison; he has a job waiting with a traveling sideshow.
DeleteMaybe he could travel with the GOP clown show (who are a big bunch of pricks anyway), and still have conjugal visits with Zimmerman in the Fed Pen after Z is convicted of depriving Trayvon Martin of his civil rights.
DeleteThe fix was in when they didn't arrest Zimmerman in the beginning.
ReplyDeleteHis Daddy the retired judge made sure George was going to have it easy.
The cops all but french kissed George on the lips.
The prosecutor did such a shitty job he ought to be arrested.
No matter how corrupt they all were—double jeopardy applies, unless they do that fruit of the poison tree thing. And lets face it, even if he gets another
trial—its Florida they'll let him go free again.
There's no evidence that Zimmerman was involved in the prosecutors tanking the case. So double jeopardy would attach. Zimmerman is free.
Delete@4:28 Zimmerman was not arrested for days, not until Reverend Al Sharpton held marches, vigils and demanded that if Zimmerman killed someone that he be arrested. The police were Zimmerman's friends. He wasn't handcuffed when he walked into the station with them. This thing was a set up and a fake from the moment that they gave him a pass. "Hey, I killed someone, but even though he wasn't armed, it was all his fault."
DeleteYou are correct 4:28. Either new evidence supports new charges other than murder 2 or those related, or DOJ tries him on federal charges, as they did in the 60's in the south when no white jury would convict a killer of a black person. They usually charged them with deprivation of civil rights, not murder, which is a state crime.
DeleteSome things haven't changed at all. This news brings to mind the movie"To Kill A Mockingbird." The south has a long history of trumped up charges against blacks and there is no "justice" while white police officers and prosecutors turn a blind eye to the facts and truth. Zimmerman got away with murder and the police helped him making them an accessory. I think Karma is going to get Zimmerman in the end. Hopefully karma also gets the Sanford Police Department and they get sued big bucks for their part in obstructing justice.
ReplyDeleteHeh heh heh. (S)he said “big bucks."
DeleteOF course Trayvon was never on top after being bum rushed and assaulted by a man that outweighed him by over 80 lbs.
ReplyDeleteWhile the small guy doesn't always win a fight, once you are down and a person weighing that much more than you is on top of you ..well...you are done. Zimmerman didn't NEED to shoot him, even then, he would have been unable to fight back. Zimmerman shot him because he had fought with his wife and couldn't get to her so he shot a child in the street.
BTW even if Trayvon had been on top, he would have had every right to defend himself from Zimmerman who was the thug that attacked a child.
thats some imagination bub. you forgot the part where trayvon was heading, i mean skipping, home (ie his dads girlfriends house, where was dad again that night?) to finish working on his unicorn scrapbook.
DeleteSo basically Anon 10:03 says Martin was walking while black.
DeleteThanks you moron.
10:03, are you a paid sock puppet for Zimmy-boy? Fact is Martin was doing nothing wrong when Zimmy-boy assassinated him.
DeleteSo assault and battery = doing nothing wrong?
DeleteZimmy-boy perpetrated assault and battery on Travon Martin, yes, that's true. He also approached him after being told to stay in his vehicle. Zimmy-boy is a vicious dog and needs to be put down.
Deletethere is no such evidence zimmerman attacked martin other than in your head. witness statements on the stand support the fact that martin was on top of zimmerman throwing punches. zimmerman was not breaking the law by following a suspicious person, nor was he breaking the law by getting out of his vehicle regardless of what a 911 operator- who has no authority, said to him. imaginations love to run wild around here.
Delete@ 12:05PM
DeleteIt's sad reading your pathetic defense of GZ killing an unarmed black teenager on this thread over and over.
You are a pitiful excuse of a human being who admires a racist and probably wishes you could kill an unarmed black teenager.
Let's hope your karma is as strong as GZ's.
12:57. it is too bad that you are so angry about the evidence in this case. laying out the evidence without prejudice does not make one a GZ supporter. i admire no racists- and certainly do not wish to kill any teenager (or person or animal of any age), black, white or other. you could not possibly have said anything more ridiculous. i might be wrong, but i don't think i have ever even referred to trayvon's skin color in any of my posts.
Delete@ 1:56PM
DeleteYour pitiful defense of a known racist clouds whatever mewlings you leave here.
Keep denying the obvious, racist.
3:05 keep denying the reality of the evidence and turn to personal name calling and slander. very intelligent. that should work out well for you and it no doubt makes you feel like a big person. you would fit in well with the narrow minded c4p crowd just sayin'.
Delete@ 3:35PM
DeleteYou know all about the c4p crowd, since you are just like them, racist.
I knew it all along. Killerman gave himself his alleged"injuries" or had his cop buddies do it so he could get away with murder.
ReplyDeleteThe blood running towards Zimmermans face has always troubled me and his story just never added up.
ReplyDeleteExactly. How does the blood run up if you're on the bottom? Other things too.
DeleteTo all this I say...no kidding, duh.
ReplyDeleteThis is nothing but assbackwards state of FL, I lived there for 6 years, and have never witnessed more out right racism in my entire life. A whole bunch of right wing fundamental christian assholes, home schooling their ignorant fucking kids, has led this state to elect a convicted medicare fraud king as their governor. Out side of one family member living there, I hope the whole fucking state drops off in the ocean.
ReplyDeleteHe can't be tried again, but it would be nice to prove that the Martins were railroaded.
ReplyDeleteToo much that shouldn't have gotten in, did. The cardboard silhouettes that made zimmerman look like the pillsbury doughboy vs a nine foot tall, menacing, muscular Trayvon, the slab of concrete, the re enactment on computer.
Something's wrong with Florida's Judicial system. OJ fled there to save his assets, then Casey Anthony and Zimmerman got away with murder.
Actually he can be, by the feds if they feel it violated Trayvons civil rights and the trial was a setup.
DeleteYou're shocked, Gryphen? Trayvon had no DNA from Zimmerman on him. How could he supposedly slam Z's head repeatedly into the ground and have no DNA on him? Second, the trajectory of the bullet into his heart was obviously wrong for him to be on top of Z. This is no surprise at all.
ReplyDeleteThat's exactly what I was going to write. One of the first pieces of information to come out in the "investigation" was that there were no forensic indications on Martin's body that he had fought Zimmerman. Apparently there would have been marks on his hands and fingers. Also the trajectory of the bullet (straight through at chest height) is contrary to the story/stories subsequently told by Zimmerman. These facts do not lie and yet they somehow disappeared by the time the case went to trial. Had Zimmerman been beaten as severely as he had claimed, he would have been taken immediately to a hospital for examination. No one fools around with potential head injuries. The fact that that did not happen speaks volumes. Other important facts are that Zimmerman's phone was not taken from him immediately and that his father was invited to come to the scene. That crime scene was tainted right away. My theory is that his father or someone else provided the very minor injuries to Zimmerman to give him a self defense claim. There was simply too much mishandling of the crime scene by those who are supposed to know what they are doing.
DeleteBeaglemom
Unless Bao took the evidence with him and kept the chain of evidence, you can kiss any lawsuit goodbye.
ReplyDeleteThe prosecutor's office will make any evidence Bao didn't take with him "go away". They'll outspend the opposition, making Bao look incompetent, in it for the media attention, a chronic liar, whatever it takes to discredit him.
Yeah. We know Martin got screwed in all this and Zimmerman is a liar and a murderer. But what's done is done and Zimmerman will never pay for what he did.
I suspect he will pay for another crime he'll commit. Sorta like what happened to O.J. Just be patient. It's only a matter of time.
I would love to see what happens if they exhume the body..
