Why the show Breaking Bad could only be based in America.

Courtesy of Salon:

Man is diagnosed with incurable lung cancer. Man, faced with crushing medical expenses that his insurance won’t cover, turns to cooking methamphetamine and builds himself a drug empire. Man buys a hat, yells at his handsome partner a lot and uses hydrofluoric acid to dissolve a bunch of dead bodies in plastic bins.

“Breaking Bad”: Only in America!

No, seriously.

By the way let me just thank all of you Breaking Bad fans for constantly pimping your show in the comments section.

After I read about a dozen or more comments telling me how great it was, and after my friend Dennis Zaki started giving me crap for not watching it,  I noticed that suddenly all five seasons were available on Netflix.

This was my tweet:
After that I spent every free moment watching the show from the first season all the way through until the fifth season.

It took me over two weeks, but I caught up. So tonight is only my SECOND night of watching a new episode on the night it is initially broadcast.

And I can hardly wait.

So thanks a lot for getting me hooked on a show that used up all of my free time, and made me late handing in work related paperwork on two different occasions. Bitches.

(Just so you know, I am NEVER late.)

  1. I am guessing by the lack of comments on this post that either, nobody shares my admiration for this show, nobody finds it interesting that due to our lack of access to affordable health care the show could only be made in America, or nobody understands why I used the word "bitches" in my post and are offended.

In my defense if you watched Breaking Bad, you would know who Jesse Pinkman was. and you would understand the "bitches" reference.

Maybe if I had put LOL at the end of the post.

No, understood. That's how the Palin's essentially end all their dialog.

The only problem with this comic is that White is labeled as a taxpayer and thereby gets what he paid for; half of Americans don't pay income taxes at all, simply because the tax code exempts them this unfair taxation among many other benefits EASILY allows someone to cheat their way through the system and become a freerider. Giving healthcare to freeriders is obviously a bad choice if you want to stay a world power, or even stay on the map. There are only two choices: make the freeriders pay taxes, or take away their healthcare. If you don't want to take their healthcare, you have to make them pay their fair share. White pays his taxes, while others decide to live on food stamps and medicaid, and not move their butts from their chairs.

I'm a very devoted fan of BB and last week shit got REAL! I also love all of the Funny of Die parodies, especially if BB was on ABC, complete with laugh track. Great show, love Brian Cranston, even more than I did on Malcom in the Middle and Aaron Paul is superb as Pinkman.(lots of great Jesse Pinkman parodies on Funny or Die as well.)

    Glad you finally watched it!

Sorry Gryph, everyone must be too busy trying to program their DVR's to record the show. I say Hank & Gomez are toast in that shoot out, and Jesse gets away. He also knows where Walter's money is....

I LOL'd at your tweet. BB couldn't be more freakin' addictive. It took me slightly over a week to binge-watch the first 4-1/2 seasons so I'm easily as hooked as you. It's much easier to watch all at once. This waiting for a new episode sucks.

Breaking Bad is easily one of the best recent shows on TV. I have most of it downloaded, and nearly every episode is a spine tingler

    GREAT STUFF!

    Glad your caught up Gryphen!

I "found" it the same way. Netflix sure knows what they're doing with the new business model! The only downside is when someone happens to tell you something you haven't gotten to yet.

OT, but found this reaction on ABC extremely funny! Look at Matthew Dowd's face!

  12. Aaaaaaahhhh...I did the same thing.
I started Season 1 Episode 1 on August 13 and had many BB marathon nights. On Saturday August 17, I watched it for 14 hours straight.
Got all caught up and now I go crazy waiting a WHOLE WEEK in between episodes.
How the fuck did people do this for 5 seasons.

28 minutes and counting until Episode 14.

I love Breaking Bad and just started watching about 4 months ago. Now my friends and I are watching the first part of season 5, 1 episode a week. We're on the 4th episode. I'm so afraid of seeing spoilers. I've already seen a visual and heard one as well. Best show ever! It's my ringtone on my phone too. Love the opening music.

This is the best show I've ever seen. I too, binged watched the first 4 seasons at my daughters request...no, actually plea is more accurate, and so glad I did. The acting is outstanding, the story line just drew me in and the dialog is superb! Also, too, the way this series is shot is superb, beautifully done.
So, am I a fan? Oh yeah, Bitch!!!
