Morality is not determined by the church you attend nor the faith you embrace. It is determined by the quality of your character and the positive impact you have on those you meet along your journey
For a man who spends almost all of his time under constant and brutal attack by the Right Wing, President Obama has still not lost his innate goodness and ability to express compassion for others.
I gotta hand it to him. I run the other way when germy, sticky little kid hands come within two feet of me, but he actually touches them and hugs them, snot, sticky hands and all! Kudos to him. Kids don't like me and I really don't like them either, but we have a mutual agreement to not get into each others personal space and that's worked fine for me these last 49 years :-)
I work in an elementary school and kids can always tell who genuinely likes them. They are drawn to those people and shy away from those who they instinctively feel are uncomfortable around them.
Kids - babies, toddlers and big kids alike - just seem to flock to this President.
I remember when he was first elected, how he worried that not having a blackberry would "insulate" him from people. Seeing how he connects with people, especially kids looks like he's getting more out of the interaction than they are. He's a people person and it shows. Every photo I've seen of President GWBush with kids, looks forced for a photo op.
And that's what they despise and the secret meeting the night when he was elected '08. They knew, and why we're in this mess. Beats "pass me a baby, not the retarded one."
The KOCH operatives are out in force, pushing her back into the national conversation. They want more bang for their buck and they know that she's pretty much a never-been, so they're firing up their sycophants to write articles about her that get her name out into the cybersphere so she gets the most out of her book tour and her endorsements for 2014. I can't wait for the Palin Curse to take those Koch brothers down, in a big way.
I bet lots of other people were looking forward to the Obama who would not be campaigning anymore, starting some of his responses to asinine reporters' questions, with:
"Okay, look here, you dumb cracker..."
Instead, he continues to show the racists, bigots, and America haters, what having CLASS looks like.
I suppose that aspect makes the fools hate him all the more.
I suspect it's because he knows that children don't want anything from him, other than a hug or an occasional note for their teacher, excusing them from school!
It's a genuine, not-profit interaction and he undoubtedly gets very, very few of those from any adults.
I just love watching how he is with babies and I think it's because he can be himself and just enjoy the moment without wondering what their ulterior motive is.
About a week ago the "New York Times" had an article about how President Obama fails to connect with people. They compared him to former president Bill Clinton. Frankly I think that President Obama is very much a people person. It shows when he sits down at a table with ordinary people and especially when he meets with children. Why wasn't the "New York Times" worrying about George W. Bush and his "people skills"? Beaglemom
This is a man with a good heart. Kids know.
ReplyDeleteOn the other hand, I don't recall one photo of she who will not be named enjoying a child, or one who looks happy to be with her. Again. Kids know.
I am not Obama's biggest fan. But I will gotta hand it to him -- he has a real rapport with children and vice versa.
ReplyDeleteThe kids know.
ReplyDeleteI bet President Obama gives the best hugs ever!
ReplyDeleteCompare that with the dipshit. LOVE you, my President!
ReplyDeleteoh please.....the kids are obviously highly trained child actors and the whole thing is staged.
ReplyDeleteJust what I was thinking.
DeleteActors' Equity, any of 'em, all of 'em!
yup, you know the diabetic pregnant one is probably going to faint any second.... :)
DeleteKids and animals know!!! President Obama is an outstanding human being in spite of what the Republicans and Teabaggers say! Love the guy to pieces!

Amen to that. How precious, and children somehow innately know . . .

DeleteThat's my guy: the one with the kids hugging him and pronouncing 'nuclear' correctly, every single time.

OK, is it just me, or does he always look happy when he is with children? I don't think you can fake that kind of emotion. He is a great guy.

ReplyDeleteBeaglemom
The president is very in touch with the common people. Quit letting the big tabloids and so-called newspapers tell you otherwise.
