For those who aren't completely convinced they were scammed, the pregnant diabetic lady from the President's speech today has a message.

You know Obama's Dirty Tricks Department is REALLY thorough. Imagine making up a fake Twitter account going back years JUST to fake out the public during a Presidential speech.

And she talked about being a diabetic and everything. Amazing!

You don't need to be diabetic to faint while pregnant. I did it plenty without standing for long periods. It's another absurd thing about pregnancy (like morning sickness). What a lousy system!

  2. I also fainted when pregnant; standing and teaching a four-hour class, back before my organization had maternity leave.

I'm a long time diabetic and have passed out a few times. I missed this incident, but believe me, it happens. I almost passed out Saturday out at a big local event. Too much activity, not enough sugar and you can get ill very quickly.

Every Pregnant women should be able to lay on the couch, all the time if she wants. Being fed healthy food often and even a snack once in a while. She should be exempt from laundry or any chores. Decorating the Nursery is her job. Give her credit cards and let her go wild. That's how France does it and it works well.

France has a 16-week maternity leave : 6 weeks before the presumed date of birth (so from 7 1/2 month pregnant on) and 10 weeks after. Then it's back to work, or out of the workforce.

When on maternity leave, the expectant mothers are not excused from any chores - male doctors do recommend them not to wash the windows though, as if it were the most exerting chore ever, which only goes to show that the male doctors seldom do any housechores themselves.

Of course, the second the woman is on maternity leave, society expects her to do 100% of housechores -since she's "idle at home" now. For more than half of the females this is not felt like a change, since French males seldom do any chores, despite their loud claims to the countrary.

Besides, French women don't need to be given credit cards. They own theirs.

If I didn't know better, jealous misogynist TEXASMEL would have me think that pregnant female Texans are pampered do-nothings... While no male Texan ever was a catered-for do-nothing, heh ?

I like the way European countries begin a maternity leave about six weeks before the due date. Having worked with pregnant women who were on the job until hours before the baby was born. I know women who took their briefcases to the hospital so that they could keep working. I can attest that everyone would be better off if the so-soon-to-be mom was at home instead of at the office. For some reason in this country, women have to be super performers all of the time and it's just ridiculous. No one would make such expectations of men if they were the gestational carriers.

But Sarah was able to board a transcontinental flight when she was pregnant and leaking amniotic fluid and she's much older and it was a high risk pregnancy. She even avoided the big hospital in Anchorage to go to a small local hospital that wasn't even equipped to deliver twins let alone high risk pregnancies. And she never fainted once. Now that's a real mama grizzly!

hell - grizzly's can fake giving birth anywhere! Sarah has been sterile since the day after Piper was born. She didn't want THAT child.

Some of the crazies have questioned why the president turned around toward the woman when he did. Well, when you start to feel faint, you frequently get fidgety and may whimper slightly - it's all part of just suddenly not feeling well AT ALL. I'm sure the woman was given the treatment she needed - somewhere to stretch out and some orange juice or something similar to sip until she felt better. Not an unusual event for a pregnant woman and especially for a pregnant diabetic woman.

As a diabetic who faints a bit, I can tell you I know when it is hitting me because my breathing changes, I sigh or moan a bit before going down for the count. I bet he not only saw something swaying behind him, but also heard her breathing differently.
I was diagnosed while pregnant with my first baby and they thought it was gestational. No, type 2 probably for a while before I got pregnant.
I love our presidents style, he is committed and cool. Not all hyper spaz like the teapots or the republicans that make mountains out of dust.

    Don't be smug, Gryphen.

If President Obama spent more time coding that darn healthcare website and less time juggling fainting women or plotting terrorist attacks on American diplomats (BENGHAZIIII!!!!), tea baggin' patriots like Rafael "Ted" Cruz wouldn't have to spend all of their free time figuring out innovative ways to destroy Amercia!
