Get ready Texas! |
Democratic state Sen. Wendy Davis declared her candidacy for governor of Texas on Thursday, promising to focus on the needs of average Texans.
In an email to supporters, Davis said she would focus on education, economic development and health care.
Wow what a surprise!
Who saw that coming?
Oh, ALL of you?
Well it is STILL great news.
Wait did she say she was going to focus on education and health care? In Texas?
Wow, she really does have an impressive set of ladyballs!
Go Wendy go!! #TeamWendy all the way! There is a lot of momentum down here. I hope we can make it happen!
ReplyDeleteScarah's resentment and jealousy of the wildly talented, smart, EDUCATED Wendy will be palpable. luv me some hate.
ReplyDeleteTexas Fundamentalists Pushing Public Schools to Teach That Garden of Eden Is Science
ReplyDeleteChristian fundamentalists on the Texas school board can force textbook publishers to rewrite entire portions of the books kids read in school.
Christian fundamentalists in Texas are out to destroy your child’s education again. The state is one of the biggest textbook buyers in the country, and because of this, they can force textbook publishers to rewrite entire portions of the books that will land not just in the hands of Texas children, but children around the country (the school board is currently deciding on new science textbooks). The state school board, which is stuffed with right-wing ideologues who cheerfully reject any science they feel is in conflict with fundamentalist Christianity, are once again trying to use that power to try to teach your kid their religion in the science classroom.
The strategy, as it has been in the past, is to force textbook publishers to teach something that is simply untrue: That there’s significant controversy in the world of science over whether or not humans and other species evolved over millions of years or whether or not a couple of people made from mud ate an apple in a mysterious garden 6,000 years ago.
The Texas Freedom Network, a group that advocates for church-state separation in Texas, obtained notes from the state school board and found that the board members even went so far as to claim that the Garden of Eden myth is “science,” and the equivalent of the theory of evolution. ...

I am totally supporting Wendy and there is quite a grassroots organization mobilized to help her get started. It's not just women, but men who love their women and want to help. Educated people who are fed up with what has happened to Texas. It will be an uphill battle, though, as Greg Abbott as the millions and the machine. But I think she'll do well, and at the least educate men and women in Texas about what Ted Cruz and the awful Rick Perry have done to us. Cecile Richards is also a wonderful women and will have an influence. Yes, Wendy
ReplyDeleteDavis is drop dead gorgeous but a lot more than that. Texas has gorgeous, smart women and its about time we begin to meet them again! When we get through this horrible shutdown and get a little extra change again, PLEASE send it to Wendy! And yes, someone in Alaska is saying, "mirror mirror on the wall - TAWD???
Brains & Beauty; Beauty & Brains. That's Wendy Davis.
ReplyDeleteWhat say you, Ol' Has-Been Half-Term Quitter "Two-Buller" of the North who stuffs a pillow up her shirt and pretends that she is pregnant.
I see from Googling that she has a Facebook site, but I do not FB. Could someone please discover a mailing address so we could send a little bit of money...a lot of us sending her a little bit just now might be very encouraging and would help her get off the ground.
ReplyDeleteThank you!
Aurora
You can go to Act Blue and donate to Wendy Davis, Texas. Very easy.
DeleteTo borrow the name of an Austin retailer, I think you mean Wendy has Brass Ovaries.
ReplyDeleteThat said, Wendy will need money, alot of money. Abbot has 25 million, Wendy has 1 million.
The anti Wendy Davis ads will start next week.
Help us turn Texas BLUE, donate if you can even a few dollars, anything.
I'll have my Justinb Boots walking door to door for Wendy and will donate cahs also. But I ask, any and all at IM to donate and ask your liberal friends to donate
Wow, looks like someone "grew a pair" some time ago, as the Fraud from Wasilla keeps admonishing selected politicians to do...
ReplyDeleteI just liked Wendy's FB page and FB gave me a couple of suggestions of other pages I might like - Ted Cruz and Rick Perry!!! FB has facial recognition, you would think it would know that if I like Wendy Davis I'm not going to like Cruz or Perry!!
ReplyDeleteGo Wendy go, please get us away from the likes of Rick Perry and Greg Abbott. Abbot is Perry on steroids. Please beat his ass into the ground and turn Texas around.

Go Wendy! She's not only beautiful and smart but she has the stamina and will to get things done! Love, love, love her!!!
ReplyDeleteGo Wendy!!
ReplyDeleteFinally, Texas has a chance to turn blue! Wendy is a great choice and I support her.
ReplyDeleteWendy Davis has no chance of becoming governor of Texas
ReplyDeleteShe will never have the title of governor like Sarah has
I can't wait to say...Governor Wendy Davis. I loved Ann Richards, 45th Governor of TX and I think Wendy Davis would make Ann and the women of TX proud.
ReplyDeleteAny of you in the Houston area who want to get together to work for Wendy, let me know. I have never hit the pavement hard before but I will go all out for this woman because she has hardly a chance against antichrist Abbott. We have close to the worst minority voter turnout in Texas. If we could get all of us out, she would whoop his ass but good. Whatever - even if she doesn't win this time, she's still young and this gives me hope. Even knowing this will be hard and probably un-winnable, she jumped in. Ms. Palin, her balls put you to shame. You are not fit to wipe her boots.
