Final thought of the day.

Source
I thought that this was an important point to remember, especially with the Terrible Tundra Twat nipping at his shoelaces for the last couple of days.

Wow... Swift never could have imagined the future irony of using the word "confederacy" here.

Thank you Gryph posting this. Our President is a genius.

Nipping at his shoe-laces? Hardly even that, Gryphen. She's yapping away behind a fence while his motorcade goes past, thinking she's scared him away; meanwhile he doesn't even know she's there.

Do you think President Obama thinks for one second about Princess Dumbass of the Northwoods?

Not a chance he gives her a second thought.

Thank you. My $P fatigue has gone chronic in this 'up is down' political world. I never forget for a moment what this great man has done and wishes to do for this country nor can I forget at what cost he has served. What the hate chorus has wreaked on the Obama family's should only come back to Palin 100 fold.

That nipping thing? Ever seen President Obama swat a fly with his bare hand in one swat? I doubt her name ever crosses his lips nor the image of her continence enter his mind, nor her blathering on pollute his stream of consciousness.

He's a good man and the quote fits him perfectly.

I think you might like the opening sentence of the Swift work - Thoughts on Various Subjects - that contains that quote.

"We have just enough religion to make us hate, but not enough to make us love one another."

I'm watching the PBS showing of JFK...and it makes me sad to think how badly America has changed.

Not that everyone loved that President at the time...there were a share of bigots who hated him for being a Catholic, for being Irish, for being rich, and for being intelligent.

But that contingent was only the usual nutjob fringe, of John Birchers, and sociopaths, who only added up to maybe ten percent.

Today, thanks to rightwing propaganda and hatred, there are about HALF of the population, thinking its just swell to talk like terrorists, and bitching about "the government."

They obviously are too brainwashed to think for a minute, that the "America" they profess to love, IS the freaking government!

Thank you for putting this up, IM. I absolutely respect and support President Obama and sincerely hope he knows that so many of us throughout the nation and world are behind him 100%.
The Republicans hammer him in every way they can and it's getting to be old and boring! Example: They are obstructing another judicial appointment today!

I just finished watching a recap on the history of President Kennedy and he was obstructed horribly by the southern Republicans. He came out pro the Negroes and initiated stopping discrimination. Plus, he had many in his Administration that wanted him to go to war (Russia/Cuba) and he shunned their advice. Does that mirror current times by any chance?

He was running for his second term when assassinated (Dallas,
TX). He wasn't able to get much through Congress either due to obstruction.

I saw Senator Kennedy in our school halls in 1960 prior to hearing a speech he gave our student body. He was traveling throughout our state back then which is providing me great memories as I type this.

I urge everyone to watch their TV's on 11/22 as there is going to be much coverage on the history of President Kennedy. There are more similarities between the two presidents.

The former half-term governor of Alaska defends her favorite holiday in writing! Hear why that's probably a bad mistake on "Chelsea Lately."

I think we're winning at chess again. President Clinton goes on TV and says, "I think Americans should be able to keep their policies as President Obama told them they could." Now the right hates that, but they hate Obama mroe, so they have suddenly embraced Clinton's statements, and voila, there is a bill in the House to allow people to keep their insurance. Now, had OBAMA proposed this, the GOP would have bent over sideways to keep it from happening. Suddenly, they are all for it. Gotcha again, GOP!
