Courtesy of the Washington Post:
Views of the Republican Party’s ideological leaning are essentially the same as the tea party.
Forty percent say the tea party is too conservative — about the same number as say the Republican Party is too conservative (43 percent). While 36 percent of Americans say the views of the GOP are “about right,” 35 percent say the same of the tea party.
Views of the GOP and the tea party are virtually the same across all demographics. Fifty-five percent of moderates say the GOP is too conservative, versus 52 percent who say the same of the tea party.
In other words, if the tea party has moved the GOP to the right — and it has — it has done so to such an extent they are now viewed as ideologically very similar.
So while the establishment Republicans are locked in a pitched battle for control of their party with the Teabaggers, the rest of the country sees them as one and the same.
What was it the comic strip character Pogo once said?
This is pretty good news for the progressives moving toward 2014. Now if only we can get that damn website up and running, and manage not to shoot ourselves in the foot, we might have a real shot at gaining some seats and getting this country back on track.
Yep, Cruz and queenie are undisputed leaders.
ReplyDeleteThe pope even dissed them!!!!
DeleteIn their desperation to take control of the House and as many state legislatures and governorships as possible in 2010, the GOP married the Koch Brothers' manufactured "Tea Party." The GOP helped create the "Tea Party" by giving it credence and money; it belongs to the GOP now and is its face and soul. And we all know that no one in the 21st century GOP has the courage to bring it down. (And don't even mention Christie of New Jersey; he's as bad as the rest of them - you can ask New Jersey teachers and Democrats.)

I have been wondering for some time if there was some"hacking" of the ACA website- the problems seem just too convenient for the opposition propaganda program against it. The media just seems to run with the problems-never probes into the "why".
ReplyDeleteStill waiting for somebody to report on this.
DeleteYES! The site was DdOs and the link was given out on RW sites.
DeleteIdiots will be caught and I can't wait.
Anon @ 6:56am -- I've been thinking this since it all started, but the "librul" media will probably never report it unless there's a real, ground breaking news dump that finds its way around the corporate $pon$ors. The MSM needs reality show drama to attract the dumbed-down TP crowd, it seems.
DeleteStudent David Kernell got a year in prison for hacking, in 2008, Sarah Palin's personal email account (that she was using for state business). IMO he did it alone, as a prank, but it got him into big trouble; Sarah, of course, played her victim role to the max.
DeleteI think these ACA website hackers are deliberately trying to destroy that program (along with President Obama's legacy) and should be charged with sedition. The folks who are paying these hackers for their skills should also be charged and found guilty.

DeleteStudent David Kernell got a year in prison for hacking, in 2008, Sarah Palin's personal email account....
------------------------------------------
He did NOT hack her email account. He guessed the password of a complete moron and logged in. He did not tamper with any code, etc. He logged in. Not the same as hacking.
The retarded bitch has hit rock bottom

As usual SarahPac spent more money than they collected while only giving away $5, 000
DeleteLOL, oh, oh, someday soon there won't be enough money to hide the extra babies.
DeleteBUt there is no Tea arty, the bagger are republicans. They are in no way a certified political group, even though they think they are. They are nothing but republicans.
ReplyDeleteA very good article/opinion on the same subject. Totally agree with you, Gryph!

"Now if only we can get that damn website up and running, and manage not to shoot ourselves in the foot,"...
ReplyDeleteThe thing is, there are hacker
Not just hackers. Unscrupulous GOP members have created fake web sites to attract people that want to sign up. It's a convenient and easy scam to obtain SS #'s and other info.
ReplyDeleteThey should be punished to the fullest extent of the law and as soon as possible. The public needs to be made aware of all this particular criminal activity by the GOP before any elections in 2014.
DeleteCould I have a link for this information- I have been wondering for a long time what is really going on as the problems seem to be orchestrated
DeleteIt's an old ploy with the GOTP - pregnancy crisis centers.
ReplyDeleteI have to wonder if our fabulous group called "Anonymous" might be working behind the scenes to find out, we need them now more than ever. I was thinking...what bugs me more than anything is when that blowhole Boehner starts with "What the American people want", when poll after poll says the exact opposite. I hope the Dems come up with a video showing when they say that with the pole numbers after. Can you believe what McConnell actually said today about the nuclear option...how fair they have been since Obama was elected. OMG...Kentucky vote that asswipe out! Stewart and Colbert are gonna love this one.
