For those who say that the Republicans have no health care plan, au contraire.

I did not realize it but I have been on the Republican health care plans for years.

Really looking forward to Obamacare.

O/T - The pond of pee is gleefully reporting how well the grifter's epic tome is selling and has this thread up:-

"No bulk orders were reported as the Governor debuts in the top ten of the NY Times bestseller list for nonfiction books for the third time. No bulk orders influenced her ranking."

This is the explanation offered to a question posed in the same thread as to what constitutes bulk sales:-

Bulk sales are from the author or the book's promoter buying cases of the books for giveaways vs. individuals buying a book. The Left are the most notorious about this, esp. Billary. They were known to buy scads of their own books to A) Make them look good, saleswise; B) Give them out as promos.
At least that's my understanding of bulk sales. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong.

The other version of this right-on statement re the Republican Health Plan: "I could no longer afford to pay for insurance, so I stopped going to MDs until now, when I am so ill that here I am at the ER for taxpayer-paid help."

I think a trip to the emergency room is STILL billed to the person needing the help. Hospitals go after non payers. Medical bills are listed as a prime reason for bankruptcies, so taxpayers are certainly not being billed for the payments.

Bills for paying clients (taxpayers) are higher to balance the non-payers some, and the hospital can take a tax deduction on its "losses", so yes the taxpayers pay. I mean the 99% who actually pay significant taxes, not the 1% like Romney who pay v v little.

Could never understand the logic behind Americans accepting the fact that due to medical emergencies or ill health you could actually become bankrupt. While other countries have moved ahead with universal health care, the 'greatest country on earth' lags miles behind. Unfathomable to us on the outside why the U.S. still hasn't fixed this most basic need. (Sigh)...

And how does the hospital end up being remunerated,, when the person either flat out can't pay, or ends up filing bankruptcy? You think they just write that bill off as"charity ?"

It gets paid in much higher medical costs for all the rest of us.

I ended up in the emergency room a couple years ago, uninsured , uninsured due to denial of coverage through my employer because of my pre-existing conditions. While in my make-shift 'room' preparing for checkout, the billing lady paid a visit. When she realized I was uninsured, she said my bill will be significantly lower, if I am able to pay my bill in full TODAY. I agreed, she left and came back with a new bill, literally, 1/4 of the previous bill. What a f_cking racket !!!!!

So, bottom line, had I had insurance, the hospital would have billed 4 times as much to the insurance company, no wonder premiums are ( or were ) so high. JEEZUS !

Yes, the MD bills insurance $100, for example. Insurance pays MD less, say $75 as full payment. If you try to pay your bill in cash at the time, will they give you the $75 rate? Sometimes, and only if you ask for it. It should be even lower for the cash payer because the MD does not need to fill out the forms, mail, wait for payment, etc. But it's never lower.

I can't wait till our policy kicks in as well, we've been without insurance for 8 years.

And, for those who think the ER has to give you care, read this :http://www.texasobserver.org/a-galveston-med-student-describes-life-and-death-in-the-safety-net/

It describes the reality of life for the uninsured, that ER's only need to "stabilize", not treat you, and, of course, you WILL be billed. They also don't deal with ongoing conditions like cancer. Get those & you can just die.

    Seriously, read it. And weep.

The ER as healthcare provider for the uninsured is a particularly malicious and dangerous GOP lie, now part of their arsenal of lies to convince people they don't need to purchase health insurance.

ERs do have to attempt to stabilize an uninsured person during a medical crisis. But they don't/won't/can't provide most treatments or screenings. Got cancer...heart disease...epilepsy...diabetes...asthma...MS...on and on? Forgetaboutit.

    This is rich:

Speaker Bonehead put a help client on hold for over a half hour while on the ACA website..... and I bet there's many many more gumming up the system every way they can!
