Holy crap! Can you just imagine how much crazy would be packed into that room with Sarah Palin, her Palin-bots, AND Rafael Cruz? I swear it boggles the mind.
You may remember the elder Cruz as the the man who wants to send President Obama back to Kenya, who says black people are uninformed, and that his son Ted Cruz is the "Anointed one."
So clearly he is one of Palin's kind of people. Perhaps even crazier than the usual suspects even.

And if that were not enough outrage for one day it is now being reported that Palin has just cancelled her sit down with Matt Lauer over the remarks by Martin Bashir.

The former Alaska governor and Fox News contributor was scheduled to sit down with Matt Lauer for a Christmas season interview. That's now toast.
Palin has now canceled Lauer's scheduled trip to Wasilla, a source close to her tells me. It's not because Palin is upset with Lauer or the "Today" show, but as a protest against NBC for not taking action against Bashir. In fact, Palin once sat in as a "Today"co-host.
Uh huh. Okay does anybody else think that this might just be a convenient excuse to get out of an interview that she is now dreading because her book sales have dropped off so precipitously? (Which are now down to 275 at the time of this post.)
Because I kind of do.

DeleteWhen it was announced that Matt Lauer was going to AK to interview Mrs. Todd Palin it struck me as odd. She is under contract with FOX as a "Contributor." But the Book Tour seemed to have different ground rules. Today did that interview in NYC several days ago. Seemed like the book publisher, Palin, FOX and lawyers had negotiated terms that allowed her to run around and give interviews about the Tree Killer that is "Good Tidings..."

It feels like something got cancelled that didn't really exist.
I don't think she has any contract with Fox, but Lauer wasn't going to AK to sniff her ass, he was going to toss away all hope of respect he ever had and all-out lick it. She's going to be sorry she blew him off, she could have used some genuine AK publicity instead of just lying on FB.

If that book was doing well, then we might have seen Sarah pretending to mix up a mess of moose stew (or the chili recipe where she buys a packet of seasoning). Better yet, she could have made Rice Krispie Treats with Matt. It would have meant decking the halls and trimming the tree because you can't promote a Christmas book without a house full of Christmas decorations. And, then there's the problem of putting Trig on TV. To repeat that question that Jake Tapper asked (and Sarah never asked), "How IS Trig doing?"

DeleteNo, bad hygiene is not a characteristic of NPD. however it is of bipolar in either phase. In bipolar, the person is either too busy to attend to hygiene, or when depressed, to unengaged to care.
NPD people are usuallly very put together. For example, my NPD mother would spend hours looking at herself in the mirror,playing with makeup. She took long luxiorious hot baths, leaving no hot water for her kids to bath. She outdid each of her daughters on their wedding day.
I think Sarah's hygiene problem is more related to bipolar and her NPD at least gets her dressed and out there on the "stage"

DeleteAnyone that saw the Lauer interview knew there was no way that Palin would allow him to come to Alaska after that. He didn't let her answer questions like she wanted to and he asked her what church she attended. She rambled on and never answered any direct questions. Also, I doubt too that her alleged FOX contract would allow her to have an interview in Alaska. The interview she did, where she royally screwed up, was supposedly for pushing her lame book. This was a convenient out for her at the expense of Bashir.

DeleteLet's say it very clearly. Rafael Cruz so loved the United State of America that he became a citizen in 2005, when his son began his political ambitions. Cruz arrived here in 1957. He became a Canadian citizen during the few years that he and the 2nd Mrs. Cruz lived in Calgary, where Ted was born. At the time of Ted's birth, Rafael was still a Cuban citizen, and Cuba could claim Ted as a citizen if they chose to.

ReplyDeleteMartin Bashir was brilliant in calling her out. He didn't come right out and say what should happen in 'her' mouth. He suggested that she get the Thistlewood dose, so she could understand the severity and cruel bondage of slavery.
She isn't even concerned about the story itself. I had never heard of this until Martin spoke of it, and it still haunts my heart and mind. I would never ever use the term 'slavery' in comparing political maneuverings, and how Sarah Palin can be so insensitive to those 3rd generation African-Americans who still feel the pain their grandparents and great-grandparents endured, is beyond cruel and uncaring.
Her cruelty knows no bounds; but she doesn't have sway in the lower 48 like she did in Alaska and she can't just fire anyone who calls out her vileness.

Years ago, there was an excellent TV series, based on the book written by Alex Haley, "Roots." There was no question about the abuse and terrible treatment of slaves, captured in Africa, put in chains and shipped to the US. Many did not even make that horrible voyage. They were sold on an auction block, usually near the harbor. They were treated as something less than human. Slavery is nothing like owing people money as a result of running up our national debt.

Sarah used the most vulgar comparison, slavery and owing someone money. All that Martin Bashir did was read from a historical document which described the horrors of slavery, and wished that the same bad treatment was measured out for Palin so she could understand how she abused that word. He did it cleverly, but Palin is too dumb to realize the difference between someone owning another human being, and someone owing some money. Sarah says thinks that are intended to shock people. Martin returned the favor, and she can't take the heat.

Sarah Palin is mad because Martin Bashir called out her racism, so she is canceling Christmas with Matt Lauer.
What will Lauer do now that he doesn’t have to go the whole way to Wasilla in December? This move hurts Palin more than NBC, but it is the next logical step in her desperate attempt to milk the Bashir thing for all it is worth in order to sell books.
Bashir did something that few people in the mainstream media have the guts to do. He called out her racism. Sister Sarah is offended because she got called out. As the governor, Palin was sued because she refused to sign the Juneteenth proclamation.
Since losing the 2008 election, Sarah Palin has spent years lobbing racist attacks at President Obama. Palin has accused the president of everything from shucking and jiving to being lackadaisical.
Sarah Palin deals in racism. Her constant references to slavery aren’t an accident.
NBC has already given way too much airtime to Palin. Sarah Palin is the one with the crappy Christmas book to push. It is the height of delusional arrogance for Palin to think that NBC will be hurt by her “protest.”
It isn’t 2008 anymore, Sarah. It’s over, and you need all the free airtime that you can get. After all, those ghostwritten books don’t sell themselves.
Martin Bashir’s comments were ugly, but he was talking about a person who embraces and glorifies all of the ugly things that divide our country. Bashir shouldn’t be punished. He should be praised and promoted for having the courage to speak the truth about Sarah Palin.
