Ten questions that every Liberal should ask every Republican.

Courtesy of Forward Progressives:

1) If Republicans are so fiscally responsible, why was President Eisenhower (in the 1950′s) the last Republican president to balance the budget?

2) If President Reagan was such a fiscally conservative hero, why did he quadruple our national debt during his eight years in the White House?

3) If tax breaks are the main driving force behind job creation, how would we create jobs once tax rates were reduced to practically zero?

4) If socialized health care is so awful, why does every country that leads the world in life expectancy have socialized health care?

5) If you support the freedom of religion (as per our Constitution), and my church recognizes gay marriage, isn’t your support for the banning of same-sex marriage an attack on my religion’s First Amendment rights?

6) What’s more realistic? 1) That an entire region of the United States that supported slavery in the late-1800′s and support segregation in the 1950′s and 60′s suddenly stopped being racist, or 2) The racist southern Democrats in the south became Republicans during the 50′s and 60′s when the Republican party shifted toward an idea called the “Southern Strategy,” where the GOP appealed to the racism in southern whites who didn’t like African Americans voting for Democrats.

7) If taxes are at some of their lowest levels in history, and the wealthiest in this country are richer than ever, why hasn’t the growth in the wealth of the middle class matched that of the top 2%?

8) If our Founding Fathers wanted this nation to be based on Christianity, why don’t the words “Christian” or “Christianity” appear even once in our Constitution?

9) If a Republican president reduced massive job losses in the midst of the worst recession in nearly a century by more than 50% in his first 4 months in office; presided over 44 consecutive months of private-sector job growth creating nearly 8 million jobs; killed Osama bin Ladin; saw stock markets reach all-time highs; saved the American auto industry; increased domestic oil production to highs not seen since the late-90′s and championed the largest year-to-year deficit reductions since World War II, would your party not be calling him a hero and a legend?

And finally my favorite:

10) If Jesus spent his life helping the poor and the needy, how does it make sense that a party which claims to be for “Christian values” continues to cut funding for programs that help the poor and the needy?

These are EXACTLY the questions that we should ask, and we should ask them until they provide a reasonable answer or until it suddenly dawns on them that their entire life is a lie.

Also why didn't they impeach the last Republican president for lying to the American public but had no problem impeaching a Democrat one?

    1. But he was lying about A BLOW JOB! And, he kept lobbing missiles at a poor innocent guy named Osama bin Ladin to distract us from the important and juicy details! Wag the Dog! Wag the Dog!

Right on Gryphen! Excellent questions that concisely point out the "discrepancies" in the Republican point of view. Wish some of the GOP leaders would actually address their BS!

    Totally O/T Uncle Gryph,

First Greta brings up Glen Rice to Mike Tyson. Then Greta brings up Tri-G's birth fiasco. Now Glen Beck and all his cray-cray is brought out of retirement. Is FOX that desperate for viewers and ratings now?

Sunlight sure has been the absolute best way to brings out the truth behind whatever has been lurking in the dark at that network. Ever since Rupert went on trial across the pond, everything has been going downhill for his conglomerate. From Clint Eastwood, to Mitt Romney, to Karl Rove losing his shit, to Palin's ridiculous book tour, to Elisabeth Hasselbeck's disastrous Fox & Friends performance, to this.

Anywho, HuffPo posted this article today: Posted: 11/26/2013 8:52 am EST

Glenn Beck's recent interview on Fox News saw the host pulling out a rifle and showing off a piece of Abraham Lincoln's bedsheet.

Nothing too surprising, we guess! On Monday night, Beck spoke to Bill O'Reilly about his new book "Miracles and Massacres" via satellite — and offered up his take on the untold stories of American history.

Beck went on about how much he "hates" Thomas Edison, who he called a "dirtbag." At one point, he pulled out a rifle that he said was taken from the Wounded Knee Massacre, which he called a "buried" historical event.

The pièce de résistance, however, may have been Lincoln's bedsheet. Beck pulled it out at the end of the interview, telling O'Reilly, “You may have the book, I have the bed sheet."

I don't suppose Glenn mentioned the Mountain Meadow Massacre...

Sorry, but that is way too many sentences, words and syllables for conservatives, particularly tea baggers to read. Plus all the correct spelling and punctuation makes it impossible to hold their attention. And finally, the logic involved knocks it completely out of their ability to comprehend.

    1. I agree with Olivia. Big words make their heads hurt. They need snappy sound bites that rhyme.

If America were a Christian nation:
    1. We would have respect for the elderly and ensure they lived their lives out in peace, sheltered, fed, and cared for.
    2. We would never have a military budget triple our domestic budget. In fact, we'd be neutral like Switzerland.
    3. No one who calls themselves Christian would go on the radio or TV or internet and use derogatory language about another person or idea. We are all in this together.
    4. We would value our families and children above all else, and make sure they were healthy, happy, and educated.
    5. People fortunate enough to accumulate wealth woud turn around and share it with those in need (no tax deduction needed or desired.)
    6. Churches would not seek to take over government. God has no use for government.
    7. People who break several of the 10 commandments would never be held up as role models to others.
    8. Corporations would never be seen as 'people.'
    9. Elections would be fair because people had faith in their fellow citizens to vote responsibly. No corporate or dirty money allowed.
    10. Sarah Palin would actually go to church and take her family with her. They might learn some moral values there that they aren't learning at home.
    11. People would accept our elected President and support him, even if they disliked him personally. No one would want him dead.
    12. We would never start a war.
    13. We would make sure everyone had a roof over their head, a job they could do, and enough money to feed their families.

See GOP...it isn't hard. Get your heads out of your bank accounts and your hearts back to thinking about the rest of Americans who aren't earning $200,000 a year for doing nothing but making things up, whining, and posturing. WWJD? He would not approve of this party for one second.

The ONLY way to get the attention of conservatives is to break a question down to bumper sticker size. Even Twitter 140 characters is usually too long for them to understand. However, with that said, the above questions are terrific and should be repeated over and over just as you say in your last paragraph "These are EXACTLY the questions that we should ask, and we should ask them until they provide a reasonable answer or until it suddenly dawns on them that their entire life is a lie".

A corollary to 8) ...in the Declaration, it doesn't say
    OUR Creator, or
    THE Creator...

    it says

"... all men are created equal, that they are endowed by THEIR Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness..."

    A corollary to 10)

Ask your Conservative Republican friend/relative to read Matthew 25:31-40 out loud, and then explain how cutting food stamps - or ANY social program - fits with the Word of God.

I simply smile knowingly at my conservatard relatives and say nothing. Then again, I only see them every two years and they no longer know my email address so it's pretty easy to forget and forgive.

I generally refuse to discuss these types of things with the so-called adults in my family. The are all too locked into their brainwashed ideas.

On the other hand, I don't NEED to talk with the younger ones. They already figured it out for themselves and also don't talk about it.

But in the event they are forced into it (like when one of the "adults" gets drunk), they generally are quite capable of mopping the floor with their idiot parents.

(I once asked them about how they squared their religious beliefs with getting drunk. They looked at me like I was nuts, so I had to point blank ask them about the line that says "Take unto thyself food and drink BUT NOT UNTO EXCESS."

One of them tried to take a swing at me, but he was so damned drunk that all I had to do was side step and he fell flat on his face. Broke his nose! (Poor baby!)

When the so-called "adults" tried to blame it on me, the younger set stood up and jeered at their parents!)

THAT makes me have hope for the future.

Now. Can anyone figure out a biological agent that will kill of the STUPID adults more quickly? Just the stupid, mind you.
