Fox News host dismisses New York Times report on Benghazi because it "goes against much of Fox News own reporting." Gee, imagine that.

Courtesy of Mediaite:

On Saturday, though, Fox News anchor Harris Faulkner laid down a marker by telling viewers, and Rep. Peter King (R-NY) that the Times report contradicts much of the reporting that has shaped the debate over the tragedy.

Faulkner called the NYT piece “an exhaustive report on what happened in Benghazi, Libya in September of 2012,” and said that “The Times is suggesting that they couldn’t find any evidence that al Qaeda or other terrorist groups had any role in that assault, and suggests the deadly attack was in part due to anger at an American-made video seen as anti-Islam. This goes against much of Fox News’ own reporting.” Faulkner then repeated the assessment while introducing guest Rep. Peter King. “Congressman King,” she said, “not only against our reporting, but everything else we knew up until this point. Why?”

As a matter of fact, though, even in the days following the attack, Foreign Policy Magazine reported that “there are no known formal or operational links” between al Qaeda and Ansar al Sharia, and the day after the attack, Ansar al- Sharia put out a statement blaming the attack on the anti-Islam video.

King said that he disagreed with the “premise” of the report, and while he admitted that Ansar al Sharia is “not officially linked to al Qaeda,” King pointed out that “I consider that to be an al Qaeda affiliate,” and that “this is an al Qaeda-supporting organization and there are links between the two.”

Yeah forget that actual news organizations could not find an al-Qaeda link, or that al-Qaeda themselves have never bragged about killing the ambassador, if Fox News says there's a link, and the Republicans who are desperate to smear this President and Hillary Clinton, say there's a link, who are we to think otherwise?

Oh yeah, we are people who realize that Fox News has an obvious agenda and do not take anything they say as actual journalism.

Truth has a well known liberal bias. I like Petey better when he's bashing Ted Cruz & Rand Paul.

Like they sent a reporting team to Libya! Fox News employees don't talk to brown people, unless they have to, and they sure as sugar don't travel to places where they LIVE!

Also, I may sound like a conspiracy theorist, but I think the insanity over this story and the right wing's obsession with ignoring the facts have more to do with the truth of the story than with hurting the president -- although hurting the president is certainly a goal of theirs. I'm telling you, someone with heavy pockets and political connections was behind that video and they're probably terrified of the connection coming out. Because -- AGAIN! -- the guy behind the video originally told the media that he was Israeli…why the frack would he do that?

      Oops…i wasn't very clear!

I mean, the guy who's PUBLICLY behind it originally told people he was Israeli even though he's a Coptic Christian…But there's definitely, definitely, DEFINITELY someone -- or someones -- behind this guy, someone who's probably funneling money to that LAME Media for Christ group. That's where the story is -- where's the money for that non-profit or…"non-profit" because as far as I can tell, it's a fake organization and it's not like they're feeding the hungry or anything…coming from.

This video, I read the story about it in vanity fair and it was pretty low budget but the actors were getting paid a few hundred dollars a day. There were camera crews and professional equipment. There was a marketing campaign promoting the video in Arabic countries. Someone had to pay for all of that. That loser who took credit for the story couldn't pay for all this. I know people think Romney -- or maybe Mormons? -- paid for this but I feel like that little prick was so arrogant that he wouldn't have thought that he would have needed any kind of special help.

I feel, instead, like it was probably some kind of apocalyptic Christian group with ties to the Republican Party. I think their hope was to spark a war in the Middle East, because 1, they were hoping to get rid of Obama. 2, they want to bring about the apocalypse and these nuts think a war is needed to do that.

We all know that these people really believe in Armageddon -- Gryphen posts videos and articles about it all the time. I just don't any other explanation as to why the guy would have lied about his nationality. Lying about being Israeli and affiliated with such an inflammatory anti-Muslim video serves no purpose other than to spark tensions between the two groups, tensions that could probably lead to war. And then there's the fact that the video was ignored so they started marketing it -- in Arabic countries. Again -- why? Why do that?

Benghazi WAS a terrorist attack -- but the REAL terrorists are the people who created that video. They did it in order to create an incident -- possibly even a war -- and no one's talking about that and they should because it just goes to show what everyone here at the Immoral Minority already knows -- the real threat is from inside and it's from extremist Christians, not Muslims.

Here is a good article on the people involved in the video:

      http://www.talk2action.org/story/2012/9/14/05433/1020

There are a lot of rightwing hangerson mentioned as being connected to the people who produced it.

Another interesting thing to note about this video -- they took out the permit under a fake name -- why? Why do that?

Hmmm….let's see….could it be that they were worried that their families would be killed if the true authors were found out?

WHY AREN'T PEOPLE TALKING ABOUT THIS???????

Also also…the article in that link is interesting because of the group's budget. According to the IRS filings, its funding went from a paltry few thousand in 2006 to a MILLION DOLLARS in 2011!!!!

WHERE THE FREAK DID ALL OF THAT MONEY COME FROM??????

All these protestations from an organization that presents Palin as a sagacious 'pundint'. Fox is a 'data feed' created to fool poor dumb folks into doing the bidding of plutocrats and corporatists at the ballot box. It's a form of Orwell's newspeak.

    Help

I don't want to write anything here thst will flag these crazy people again becuz they are 10 X worse thsn the pee crowd and more bold and dangerous because rhey are paid to disinform thru their own blogs and deadbart and others, and have a source of $ to splash around to O kee fe type wannabes. When I asked questions on mediaite and a few other mainstream sites after the attack last fall before the election, this crew of losers tracked me down via discus and other social media and made my life hell at work and personally, just as they've done to many others. I found some tracks back to them promoting the "up coming movie", all within a day or two of one another. Most of it was scrubbed. I'm not quitting the effort but it took me about 6 months to get off their list to harrass. If I had a network of flunkies to run interference for me like they have with their crack addicts with throwaway phones, free air/train tix, and lots of unlimited freetime, I wouldn't have to lay so low.

I'm not necessarily endorsing this website because I don't know this guy and just scanning his website, I see some obvious BS already on a couple of posts at a glance, but he might be working an angle with psyops in order to provoke a response, so I'm not going to point out that stuff. He's got the right enemies, a good sign, but still caveat emptor.

On this story, he's got most of it right, or maybe all of it and I've been fooled on some details that I didnt source well enough.

If anyone has sourced more than this PI has come up with re spen cer, ge ller, h o f t, tr eac her/me dl ock, and the lo es ch teabag couple of grifters from sai nt lo uis, please post a link, preferably on a different post. However, cryptic. I will find it. Please do not use a handle that you use on facebook, IM, twitter, etc. Maybe initials or something u will recog. I'm a longtime reg here and don't want anyone here to go thru the shit I've had to endure. Maybe chuckjr, but not even him really, since he's nothing more than a harmless lurker mostly and has to dumb down his troll posts to stay anon. That's enough humiliation for anyone.

Of course Fox can't believe the NYT. They actually practice this thing called "journalism" and do it with "integrity". Having King explain anything is a riot. He sounds like he's on a caffeine high with marshmallows in his mouth and his tongue can't keep up with the bullshit his brain is trying to pump out.
