Just a reminder to all the Christians as to what Jesus had to say about homosexuality in the New Testament.

My understanding is that if your homophobia is strong enough you can see entire paragraphs trashing the gays.

The 'christians' are idiots - they prove it time and time again!

Now see, Jesse, this is why the RW is rewriting the Bible, because people like King James and the monks and whoever else wrote the translations hid things that they disagreed with. Like women preaching, for example. Or women being equal to men. And heaven knows the RW doesn't follow Jesus, so expect the new and improved Messiah to talk and act just like Santorum or Limbaugh. It will sell millions, no doubt.

    Nothing!
Interesting, Gryphen, that there aren't any comments since you posted an hour ago.
Nice to know that none of the usual suspects are willing to try to bait you.

There is one passage that is sometimes cited as supporting the anti gay position but it is taken out of context. The whole passage says the opposite - you should not judge a long list of actions up to and including homosexuality. In fact the theme of the New Testament over and over again is do not judge.

So much in the OT admonishes the actions of "Straight Marriage" and lays down the law on what's right and wrong with it, yet the NT is mum on the subject, I wonder why that is? Are homosexuals more trustworthy?

NTTAWWT, but considering that by their own account, the God of the Christian bible created an entire universe including a very special planet called Earth which he populated with a whole array of creatures along with a very, very special perfect place on his special planet - the Garden of Eden. And just what did the lord God almighty, creator of the entire universe and all that's in it see fit to place in that perfect place? A boy toy. That's it. Just God and his boy toy in the perfect place for all eternity, bbff just hangin' out together. Buuuuuuuuuuuuuut noooooooooo! Turns out hangin' with a male diety for eternity didn't do it for Adam. Nope. He insisted that he get what all the critters were getting.... and Man got his Woman.

Fast forward through a whole bunch of smoting, brimestone, flood, fire, etc. etc. more smoting, sun standing still aided major smotings, more etc. etc. and the lord God almighty, creator of the universe and all that's in it decided that it was time to send himself as his own son to save the people of the earth....and instead of stepping up and doing the deed with a woman to plant his seed, he resorts to a miracle and bails out of doing the deed with the ol' immaculate conception routine. Apparently, not interested in the least bit in getting it on with the flesh of a woman.

In brief: creates an entire universe and populates his perfect place in it with a boy toy, then later on punts to the miracle bailout of immaculate conception to impregnate a woman. Seriously, how is this deity not gay? nttawwt.

As a transgendered American who was told I had no civil rights, I place the blame on Christian Conservative politicians. Any time Christians can be hammered at their knees over using the bible as a weapon against people like me brings a smile to my face. When all 50 states have marriage equality and discrimination ends against LGBT Americans, I along with my brothers and sisters will be true Americans regardless of what a certian section of humanity thinks of us.

I would like to sell my daughter into slavery, as sanctioned in Exodus 21:7. In this day and age, what do you think would be a fair price for her?

Biblical passages from the book of Romans 1; the operative scriptures beginning at verse 24:

22 Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools,

23 And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things.

24 Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves:

25 Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen.

26 For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature:

27 And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet.

    28 And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient;

29 Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers,

30 Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents,

31 Without understanding, covenantbreakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful:

32 Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them.

    For it is written . . .

    1. For it is written by the misogynist Paul, who never met Jesus and was never a disciple.

Jesus never said any of that.

I'd like to see the New Testament rewritten to eliminate EVERYTHING that Jesus never said and everything that wasn't written by a true disciple.

That would mean everything that SAUL wrote is GONE.

BTW Jesus said that he basically voided the old testament and all the commandments. His only two commandments were to love God and to love they neighbor as thyself.

      Love.

Not hate. Not punishment. And certainly not judgement of thy fellow man.

The moderator for Bristol's Facebook must be sleeping because she is getting bashed for supporting Phil Robertson's homophobic rant. Quick, before someone takes them down.

Dear Bristol, you really have no place at speaking out on this issue, complaining about the LGBTQ community. According to the bible, you should have been stoned to death back in 2008. But, do you see anyone speaking out about you? You guys think you can pick and choose what parts of the bible to live by, while expecting everyone else to live by the parts of the bible that you see fit for them. Then, when we stand up in defense if ourselves, you claim that we are attacking your faith and your freedom of speech. At first, I thought that you may be a little different from your mom. But, I see now that you are heading down that same little path of stupidity.

Was Bristol yelling free speech with Martin Bashir made those comments about her mother

This jerk can say whatever he wants. The government cannot restrict his speech but his employer can certainly hold him responsible for what he says.

While I believe you think your views on this matter are well intentioned, and quite possibly, they are.....I think it's rather odd, that both you and your mother claim to be such advocates of free speech...without the rights of others to quiet them...and yet on both yours and your mother's FaceBook pages, dissent is completely not allowed. Generally, unless the "poster" fully agrees or compliments either one of you, they are banned from further posting.

This is it in a nutshell. He has the right to freedom of speech, his comments have caused the network to also express their freedom of speech and say they don't want people like him on their network. And as far as the bible goes...and what it says about sin....if you're a woman you seriously need to learn to not speak, bear children, and offer your husband up to as many concubines as he sees fit. The bible clearly states that women are the less of all less, just having an opinion as a woman is a sin...so be careful about throwing the bible around. Also, having sex outside of marriage, by biblical law, says you should be banned and sent out away from all civilization, if not put to death under certain circumstances. It was less than 100 years ago that women actually started getting rights, because humanity saw it as wrong, which it is. Throwing around that being gay will lead to bestiality is as absurd as saying that if women have rights God will smite them down. HELLO OUT THERE.

Ms. Palin, the next time you want to defend the free speech rights of the guy from Duck Dynasty it would be a really good idea if you also had the honesty to defend the free speech rights of Martin Bashir. Because it would be a really good idea for you to show your ethics by demanding that your own political side also hold to the standards that you're demanding that liberals do.'

Why is it that so many bad things happen to nice, innocent, caring, humble people, but people like you are left to spew your ignorance and hate in public?

I did not realize the government suspended Phil. That would be an infringement of his first amendment. Oh wait, the government didn't suspend Phil. A private corporation did.

I have never heard the Charlatans say anything that Jesus said, like help the poor, feed the hungry, house the homeless, visit the sick and those in prison. But I have heard many Democrats say these things every day of their lives.......................

    God Bless the Democrats.
