Women might want to think twice before working for Bill O’Reilly. According to Gabriel Sherman’s new book, The Loudest Voice in the Room, the top Fox News anchor grew so enraged at a female producer after a botched segment in 2003 that, in order to defuse the situation, “a senior Fox executive” intervened and escorted the crying producer out of News Corp’s Midtown headquarters.“
After one taping, he stormed toward his staff’s cubicles and tore into a young female producer, whom he blamed for botching a segment,” Sherman writes in Loudest Voice, which until today had been under a strict press embargo. “Staffers watched in shock as O’Reilly, easily a foot taller than the woman, started yelling and slamming his fist down on a shelf.”
“He got really close and in her face,” an onlooker told Sherman; “She was scared he was going to hit her,” said another. (The name of the producer is not revealed.)
Eventually O’Reilly vanished, after which “a senior Fox executive was called in and escorted the woman, in tears, out of the building to calm her down.” The famously vindictive anchor never apologized.
You may remember that O'Reilly has a history of losing his temper, and producer Andrea Mackris accused him of sexual harassment (the now famous falafel incident) he threatened to have Roger Ailes destroy her.
I don't think that it comes as any surprise that O'Reilly is a bully, and on a cable network that habitually presents women as blonde bimbos, and hires the likes of Sarah Palin, it should come as no surprise that nobody protected this woman from this kind of abuse.
After all as CNN's Jeff Zucker recently pointed out, Fox News is just a front for the Republican party ,and we all know how THEY feel about women.
some folks seem to like to watch bullies. my otherwise normal sister loves shows like Judge Judy and O'Reilly simply because she watches people "get what they deserve". Like she can't go out and deal with the world herself, she has to sit at home and watch someone else do it for her. How else to explain why O'Reilly is still haranguing guests and staff after all these years. How else to explain why S.Palin is popular. Lazy, unsocial people need to be represented, dontcha know?
ReplyDeleteI wonder if your sister watched "someone get what they deserve" when Whoopi & Joy walked off the set during a guest segment on The View.
Delete5:23 I watch Judge Judy, but loathe O'Reilly. Gee, I wonder why his ex-wife found someone else to go to? Just like Rush, he thinks women are all sluts because they can not keep any woman around even with all their money. Both of them are gross, pompous piss poor excuses for human beings. Bullying is the only way they know to communicate with REAL people. Wouldn't it be nice to know their REAL opinions of $carah?
DeleteAiles organization projects his paranoid psychopathy out onto the political landscape and is nothing but destructive to intelligent political discourse. Ailes is an anti-American megalomaniac who does not believe in democracy (he wants to pick the President himself). To bad Fox isn't required to broadcast a "not intended to be the truth, modified to facilitate our political agenda" disclaimer at the beginning of their "news" shows. Canada has the right approach when it comes to media outlets like Fox.
ReplyDeleteYeah, I took a peek at foxnews.com to see how they were covering the Christie scandal. I had to scroll down half the page to find any stories about it, and when I did, they ALL used this format: "Christy is a standup guy who took responsibility and fired those responsible UNLIKE OBAMA BENGHAZIBENGHAZIBENGHAZI!!!"
DeleteSeriously, I'm not kidding. All the stories I looked at did this. They used the item as a vehicle to contrast Christie's supposed "great leadership qualities" with Obama's "failures as commander in chief".
The only exception was one where they contrasted Christie with Hillary instead. Transparent much? Seriously. Oh, and now Fox is pushing the "New York Times runs the Democratic party" meme.
LOL Master projectionists, those Republican'ts...
One newspaper printed "President Obama sees a problem and says "I will fix it". Christie looks around for someone to put the blame on. Glad his true "character" is showing before he starts campaigning for the WH.
DeleteBill O'Reilly is a horrible human being.
ReplyDeleteHe's hardly "human."
Deletecuckold, bully, & republican. There is a reason we force conservatives to identify by political party.
DeleteThe "men" of "Fox" are cut from the same cloth. I can't, for the life of me, understand why somewhat educated women (Meghan Kelly) allow themselves to be ogled and used as sex objects and toys for these mad men to abuse at will.
ReplyDeleteIt doesn't surprise me one bit, Billo is and always has been an insecure, ignorant bully.
It also doesn't surprise me that FOX allows this type of harassment in the workplace to go unpunished. Can anyone imagine someone like Billo trying to bully a female MSNBC employee to the point of tears? They'd wipe the floor with him and bounce him onto the curb, followed by his toupee.
Rachel Maddow (MSNBC) would clean his clock - she is so much smarter and far better educated than he. Plus, she has a terrific sense of humor!
DeleteO/T: Chris Christie picked the wrong guy to call a liar
ReplyDeleteBret Schundler, the man New Jersey's governor insulted and fired, is fighting back -- and he's got e-mails
http://www.salon.com/2010/09/02/chris_christie_schundler/
Old story anon... 2010.
DeleteSo he's the bully on the playground that's all about shock and awe....until proof of HIS own words come to light. Here's hoping they pull the emails leading up the meeting held one week prior to the traffic fiasco. That will definitely serve as the videotape proof that Shundler had.
DeleteChristie doesn't come off as the Palin type to bite the dangling carrot and run. He's not that "pretty" and my guess is that he does not "ooze sexuality" that riles up the 60 & up crew. Rachel Maddow's theory about the judges makes sense and I believe that is part of the motive. However, I hear there is a land development deal that Christie may have been trying to tank from the traffic deal. My guess is that he also wanted the investors to cave and count their losses so his Koch backers could take over the billion dollar redevelopment initiative and have a bigger stake in Fort Lee. Just follow the money....
Losing a massive amount of weight is the least of Christie's problems!!
DeleteFixed News refuses to report hardly anything about Christie at all on TV and their pundits tell the viewers that the news should ignore this little non-news "traffic jam" and stay focused only on Benghazi and the IRS. They've ordered their lemmings to "go google it". Basically they've loosened their believers out on social media to fight it out with everyone who doesn't agree with Roger Ailes. The Benghazombies just repeat what they've been brainwashed with from the 24/7 Obama Hate Channel - they can't help it and that's why they refuse to stay on topic - to deflect from the issue.
ReplyDeletethese Old white guys are all a Losers.
ReplyDeleteand they know it too.
He must go through production staff very quickly. Man or woman, I can't imagine enough money to put up with him in settings where he doesn't even have to summon the minimal pretense civility his on-air self manages. And as terrible as it must be in the Fox building, imagine his live-in, hired house staff who get the real Bill without cameras or work colleague witnesses around. Jesus.
ReplyDeleteWomen that have had experience w/men that have bad tempers know that Bill O'Reilly is a ticking time bomb! Complaints about him should be sent to the heads of FOX. He's an asshole!
ReplyDeleteThe heads of FOX are also assholes, so sending them complaints might not do much good.
DeleteHe's their big money maker so won't be going anywhere any time soon.
DeleteSending letters to the heads of FOX still should be done....let them know he is not respected or enjoyed as much as they think he is. Remember, the numbers that watch him are high on FOX, but if you look at the viewership vs the adult population, it isn't that good!!!
DeleteThe guys is an asshole!
Just wait until Hillary wins the next general election by a landslide. His head will explode on air. Just try and bully HER, "Bill-O," you fucking psycho.
ReplyDeleteOT - The lying liar Palin, in full drama mode, told Access Hollywood that she paid Willow's hair school tuition.
ReplyDeleteDidn't Sarah make a big deal of how Willow was a model for other kids, putting herself through school debt-free.

What a dysfunctional interview. I couldn't hear the questioner, and the glare from Scarah's glasses was completely distracting. O.M.G.
Deleteo?t
ReplyDeleteIs she high or what?
http://watch.accesshollywood.com/video/sarah-palin-talks-hosting-amazing-america-with-sarah-palin/3045803210001
She is so out of it. Turn the volume way down. It is literally painful.
Holy cow, is she ever!
DeleteIn that clip she looks high or drunk, and has the intonation and facial gestures of a nine year old little girl.
DeleteShe purposely changes her tone of voice to sound like a squeaky blonde bimbo beauty contestant.
WHAT IS WRONG WITH HER BRAIN??? :)
Totally O/T,
ReplyDeleteI am wondering what kind of leash they have Palin on this go round. Not a peep during Gabby's anniversary. Not much of a peep during this Christie deal. She's been quite vocal this time of year as the Tea Party's fearless Facebook cheerleader but, for the most part this year. . . nothing. Then again, no one's really asking for her. Out of sight, out of mind perhaps?
How strange when there was so much news happening over the past week. The weather (climate change), the evolution debate (creationism), the bridge scandal (victimization opportunity), Obama laying down the gauntlet for 2014 (anti-Christ), Gabby's anniversary (blood libel), etc...How is it possible she stayed as relatively quiet as she did? Perhaps she is focusing all her energy on truly building a following on her new sports/hunting channel. Maybe she bought stock in the channel or became a partner of some sort so she has to bust a move to make it work. After all, they did get the idiotrad (sp?).
I don't like to see anyone fail, but if she's really working honestly and earnestly, then.....I can respect that. If not, her resume is going to suck big time -- going from U.S. VP Candidate (big global voice) to tv host of a small hunting cable channel (duck calls in a swamp) Guess we'll soon see how she can turn this around.
Working honestly and earnestly?!? ooookaaaaay
DeleteSarah Palin doesn't draw the numbers anymore - thereby we are not seeing her! Love it - it's waaaay past time!
DeleteShe's never worked honestly or earnestly a day in her life.
DeleteHonesty is not in her DNA. Her miniscule brain continues to lose gray matter as she spews more stupidity and lies. Truth is non-existent in her "vibrant" life while her double-digit IQ is dropping.
DeleteShe is unaware that she is becoming even more ridiculous. However, in some dark space in that little brain, she has inklings of just how desperate and pathetic she has become.
I don't know if its possible to see any of the OLD episodes of O'Reilly's shows.
ReplyDeleteI remember actually WATCHING him for a few minutes, as I channel surfed, and finding him only slightly obnoxious.
Of course, that was when BUSH was the white White House guy...so there wasn't a constant undercurrent of hatred to be spewed--more like a sycophantic coverup for all the gaffs and foolishness Dubbya managed to come up with on a daily basis.
I remember when he hosted Inside Edition.
DeleteSlap a wig and glasses on him, you've got the twat!
ReplyDeleteRemember when one of Bill O'Reilly's segments used to be when he'd send that Jesse character out with a camera and "ambush interview" somebody?
ReplyDeleteThen O'Reilly would sit there and gleefully show the "deer in the headlights" target of their ambush and then alternate between mocking and condescending tones while viciously belittling their quarry.
Do you know why he stopped doing that?
Because the "victims" of O'Reilly's "sting" operations learned to say "Andrea Makris" as soon as the microphone was shoved into their face.
Funny, but true.
My thoughts when there is an extended silence from Mrs. Palin are that the "car is in the shop." She's likely having some body work done, sanding, primer and paint. She's probably got more Bondo on her than a chopped and channelled '53 Mercury. My guess is that she's bandaged up like Boris Karloff. " You make woman for me? Friend?"
ReplyDelete3:49 She's probably working on her new reality series.
ReplyDeleteI thought bully women was a right wing fundamentalist conservative Republican thing.
ReplyDeleteIt's the basis of all of their policies regarding women and reproductive rights.
Bill simply makes it more obvious as to the basis. Disrespect for women. Women being considered a lesser race. Unworthy of equality.
The more family life appears unappealing to the child, the greater is the tendency to find himself a substitute.Bullying is one of the most insidious of school problems, however much miseries are cause to the victims, if they are often unwilling to tell an adult about it for fear of being branded a ‘sneak. Be remind of this Let no corrupting talk come out of your mouths, but only such as is good for building up, as fits the occasion, that it may give grace to those who hear. Dont be affected no one know's you well accept your self if it’s awful being a closet bully, you can’t be coming-out.
