New book by former Florida Governor Charlie Crist labels Sarah Palin as "different." Can't argue with that.

Courtesy of the Tampa Bay Times:

Crist also recalls the 2008 presidential campaign, his friendship with Republican John McCain and Crist's near-selection as McCain's running mate.

Crist writes that he and aides spent three days filling out a detailed questionnaire before McCain officials arranged an official meeting. The group, led by McCain confidant A.B. Culvahouse, met Crist at his parents' house on Snell Isle in St. Petersburg. "We set up in the living room and stayed there all day," Crist writes, saying questions included how far he would go to get Osama bin Laden and if Crist believed in torture.

"Anything legal," and "No," Crist answered. Weeks went by before Crist was told he wouldn't be McCain's running mate, he writes. McCain made the call to Crist personally, about 45 minutes before the world knew Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin would be the choice.

Crist describes Palin as "different."

"She was definitely different from anyone I'd ever campaigned with. … She gave the speeches she was asked to. She spoke with Sean Hannity of Fox News and Elisabeth Hasselbeck from The View. … But other than that, she talked to almost no one," Crist writes.

"She was campaigning in a vital swing state, and still never asked me: 'What's going on in Florida? What are the local issues here? What are people thinking about?' Even if she didn't care, why not make idle conversation?"

Well that is pretty easy to answer, she did not care.

Unless information about Florida had directly affected her, Sarah Palin simply could not be bothered to ask about the state. The woman is simply not known to be curious about anything. Ever.

As for Palin talking to "almost no one" that may have been a directive from the McCain campaign to not allow others to see just how ignorant she was, or simply a feature of her lack of intellectual curiosity and arrogance.

She was allowed to talk to Hannity of Fox and Hasselback of the View. Palin was under strict orders not to talk to anyone but those her keepers had on a list. She was a good little tool and obeying the big guys that were to control her. Crist was a moderate and she was told not to talk with him.

The GOP "Donor Class" are trying to step away from the TeaTardlicans but once they romanced and unleashed the Palin and her ilk they are going to have a very difficult time shutting them up. They got very needed votes from "the base" in the recent congressional races but now that those people are in office and doing stupid shit like shutting down the government the power brokers are taking a step back from the crazy. Unfortunately, the crazy is going to haunt the GOP for a long time. Kind of like getting an STD from a one night stand....

Palin is intellectually incurious and has absolutely no interest in politics. She never has, she never will. She has her talking points, but if asked how she came to believe such things would make a hard right and deflect the question. I have seen her in action; she is absolutely incapable of understanding the underpinnings of anything political.

Rilly. Who can forget when $creech was 'governor' and whenever she had any kind of press opportunity, she surrounded herself with crowds of agency heads, commissioners, etc. so $he would not have to answer questions, she would always defer to them.

I can remember many times being in the Capital building and in her office as a media person and wondering 'why is Todd always here.' He was called the "shadow governor' by Alaskans after $he had been in office for awhile.

And who can forget all the Where's Sarah? buttons in Juneau because $he was so often missing in action.

Nothing wrong with anyone being gay, it's not a choice. Everything wrong with being someone like a Palin, cause greed and avarice ARE a choice right along with the thinking of those clods who somehow think being gay is something to titter about.

If Charlie is gay and prefers to keep it a 'secret', it might be because hordes of heterosexuals make their life a hell on wheels for something beyond their control.

Florida was a crucial state which was responsible for "electing" (selecting ) George W. Bush as president. And, Palin didn't have any questions about the politics in that state? How's it going? How's it trending? What excites the voters? What are you hot button issues? Sarah is going to make a great host of that hunting and fishing show if she can't talk to people. (The extent of Sarah's conversation is "Hi, what's you name? Where are you from? What do you do? Oh, that's great." He was awful to women and in the service. The mafia launched him into Arizona politics. He was a crook and knew how to get out of his crimes. He has never been anything but a fraud himself.

He made a rotten decision with his little head when it came to picking a running mate. I don't think that was unusual for John McCain. He just doesn't show the public that side of his personality. He wanted to believe the fantasy and he tossed all sanity and reason out. He let horn-dog McCain take over and he is more than a marriage committed to the Palin/McCain ticket for life.

    1. The RNC picked Palin, not McCain. McCain wanted Joe Lieberman but the GOP mainstays floated that possibility out there and got a resounding "no" from focus groups. Palin was elevated to the VP slot quickly to accomplish several objectives: give a boost to the McCain candidacy now that Obama was the democratic victor in the primaries, attempt to bring in disaffected Hillary supporters and steal the thunder from the Dem convention. It did give the McCain campaign a big bump and propelled him ahead of Obama momentarily and it did steal the thunder, again momentarily from the Dem convention. It didnt take Obama long to take back the lead.
    2. Palin's behavior and major fumbles certainly cost McCain support but he would have lost no matter who his running mate was because of his own behavior and gaffs concerning the economy. Any chance he might have surged to a hair thin win was removed when he announced he was suspending his campaign to take care of the economy.

AND the Obama campaign team brilliantly used technology and social media which augmented the already solid portrait of competency and family cohesiveness of the Obamas. It was truly Obama's to lose at that point.

She hasn't been lied about. Her lies haven't been told by the MSM. She hasn't been trashed, she has been protected because the MSM hasn't exposed her lies. Her entire public persona is a lie.

McCain was an idiot for picking Palin.

Palin is just a plain idiot.

Two idiots on one ticket makes for a losing ticket.

A beauty pageant contestant for vp? What the hell were the Republicans thinking? Eventually this losing beauty pageant contestant was bound to have answer one question.

And that one question revealed the mentality of McCain's pick.

    "What do you read"

COURIC: And when it comes to establishing your world view, I was curious, what newspapers and magazines did you regularly read before you were tapped for this — to stay informed and to understand the world?

PALIN: I’ve read most of them again with a great appreciation for the press, for the media —

COURIC: But what ones specifically? I’m curious.

PALIN: Um, all of them, any of them that have been in front of me over all these years.

COURIC: Can you name any of them?

PALIN: I have a vast variety of sources where we get our news.

(McCain and the whole Republican Party was probably pulling their hair thinking just say anything ya retard! How hard is that question ya ignoramus? )

I wonder if the puddle is from the water that she broke while wearing her camo faux pregnancy belly.

Sarah Palin attended more than five colleges.

Didn't Sarah also attend the University of Alaska even though it was only a few hours? I believe it had to do something with Interracial Intercourse 101?

    Crist describes Palin as "different."

"She was definitely different from anyone I'd ever campaigned with. … She gave the speeches she was asked to.

Yes Crist, Sarah Palin is different. I don't believe anyone campaigned like Sarah Palin. A wink here, a wink there, a cutesy comment here, a cutesy comment there and that was it.

    That's all she wrote.

Sarah's game plan was wink, wink, cute country remarks, talking points and if all else fails, wear a towel to answer the door. That should work. Wink, wink.

And remember, she LOST the Ms. Alaska Beauty Pageant too, also in 1984. Ms lovely Marilyn Blackburn, beat the dumb out of her ass back then too, also. The creature from Wasilla finished 3rd to the Black Lady. Oh the horror, the pain, the agony of DEFEAT.

Crist writes that he and aides spent three days filling out a detailed questionnaire before McCain officials arranged an official meeting.

How many minutes did Sarah Palin spend filling out the questionnaire?

Did Sarah ask to phone a friend?

I'm an Alaskan and didn't vote for Palin after watching her w/Halcro in the debate.
The state is majority Republican as sad as that is to say. We have a horrible governor currently (Parnell - friend of Palin's who still covers and supports her!) - didn't vote for him either!

Palin was found to be unethical by the Alaska Legislature all those years ago, although she denied it while on the campaign trail w/McCain. She's a liar and fraud and it's been proven time and time again.

She is no longer favored by Alaskans! She's embarrassed the state and herself so many times we cannot keep track of her dastardly deeds! What an idiot!

LOL "Different", in "southern speak", has a similar connotation as the word "retarded". OF course Sarah was incurious about a state she's never been in before, she was too focused on her polls in her adopted state of Alaska.
What a slap in the face to MR Crist! 45 minutes after being told he wasn't picked, McCornteeth picks The thrilla from wasilla as running mate. And we all see how good that worked out!

McCain was vetting with the wrong head, and picked someone with less brains than the average wrong head. The rest, as they say, is a joke. And not a good one!

    1. Same with Pawlenty.

To keep his pick of Sarah a secret, they jacked TPaw around and he thought as late as the day before the announcement that he was on the ticket. I'm not a Pawlenty supporter, but I hated to see anybody used the way he was as a diversionary tactic.
