Once again Sarah Palin's ghostwriter fails to do her research and writes a Facebook post that makes her employer look like a fool. (To be fair there really IS no way to keep her from looking like a fool. At least not for long.)

So Nancy French, or Ram, or however is looking up hard words for Palin these days put up a post on Facebook yesterday:

Here's why in almost every one of my speeches or interviews I use the term "Orwellian”.

Palin's ghostwriter then links to an article over at Townhall,  a terrible place full of Obama hatred and little actual journalism, that I try to avoid at all cost

In the Townhall article the author claims that under President Obama we have now entered the world warned about in George Orwell's "1984." You know because it was the Democrats who stole national elections, and started unnecessary wars while lying to the American people,  and of course it was Obama who started the domestic spying program that so many find troubling today.

The ghostwriter, channeling the Wasilla Wendigo,  however did not seem to care about hypocrisy:

As I sit the bleachers today at middle school sports tournaments, I look out at our future and confirm the necessity to get America back on the right road, soon, before it's too late. Please explain this article to your children, as many have been, unfortunately, shielded from reading the staples “Nineteen Eight-Four” and “Animal Farm” in school. (And exactly which groups work to ban these books in public schools Sarah?) Then encourage them by your actions to be engaged and NOT LET IT HAPPEN.

Remembering when Palin actually visited an Animal Farm.
I can assure you right now that Palin most likely has never read a book by George Orwell, and if by some miracle she has, I would bet my house she did not comprehend what she was reading.

And as for the idea that any of her supporters have the mental capacity to explain the TV Guide, much less this article on "1984," to one of their children, well you know how dimwitted they must be, don't you.

Fortunately for me the great folks over at Wonkette got their teeth in this story ahead of me and dismantled the Townhall article point by point.

However it was the last bit where they decided to spike the ball:

Victor (Author Victor Davis Hanson) wraps up with what should have been a big finish, but actually falls flat after all the BLAARRRGGGGHHH about how Bamz is Big Brother: both left and right make shit up, but Orwell was more concerned with the left ipso facto ergo Obama bad. Whut? Victor, Victor, Victor. You really do not get this Orwell guy at all: he hated Stalinist communism, but mostly because he hated what it had done to pervert and ruin socialism. In “Why I Write” (1946), he makes it clear that he did not see the glorious free market as the cure for communism:

The Spanish war and other events in 1936-37 turned the scale and thereafter I knew where I stood. Every line of serious work that I have written since 1936 has been written, directly or indirectly, against totalitarianism and for democratic socialism, as I understand it.

Got it? George Orwell is not on your side, Victor.

You see Orwell was not warning about a President using his executive powers to help the country make progress in the face of an obstruction for obstructionism's sake Congress. He was warning against a party that keeps its citizens constantly in fear, attempts to repress their sexuality, and bans access to information that would undermine their control.

None of that sounds like President Obama or the Democratic party.

But I do know which party it DOES sound like and it rhymes with Perublicans.

Of course somehow I think that Palin did NOT want parents to explain the book to their children quite that well.

Not only is Sarah Palin ignorant and out of touch, she is the worst parent of modern times. Wonkette linked to her facebook where Sarah Pac minions posted a reminder of how bad that Palins parent. There were several pictures of Piper. If Track, Bristol or Willow can't understand Palin parent's confusion about George Orwell, Piper is not going to understand. Leave the props out of your ignorant paid help's diatribes.

Why won't anyone associated with the Palin Brand do their homework and get up to date with what they write or say?

Don't get me wrong, I have hung around with folks like Palin and Angle but it was not for conversation. You have to learn how to unhook a bra with one hand somewhere.

Is Sarah just now learning about books written by George Orwell? Doubtful that she ever read a book by Orwell, or any book (including the bible) for that matter.

Anyone that is educated has already read Animal Farm and 1984. Some of us read the books more than once because we were first exposed to Orwell as required reading in the FIFTH GRADE.

This from a woman who thought (and perhaps still thinks) that Africa is a country. This woman did not know the cause of WWI or WWII (and probably still doesn't).

No need to listen to this one kids. A third grader knows more than she does.

Most students read 1984 and Animal Farm in high school or at the latest, in college. Since Sarah had never heard of these books or of Orwell until recently, she seems to think that she has discovered something new. She missed learning anything of value during high school and college and particularly, missed learning critical thinking skills. Sarah is beaming with pride that she now has found out about this guy, George Orwell. She refers to him in many speeches and FB posts because she thinks it makes her look like an intellectual or a thinker. It would if she was in 9th grade.

"she seems to think that she has discovered something new"
You nailed it totally. She is so wrapped up in herself that when she discovers something or something is revealed to her, she assumes it is new for everyone. I have a relative like that.
We get a lot of laughs out of it. Did you hear, Nancy, discovered the news? Did you hear, Nancy discovered theater? Did you hear, Nancy discovered public broadcasting? Did you hear, Nancy discovered organic food. We have to listen to her drone on and on about things she should have learned in junior high school, when all she thought about was clothes and boys and herself, of course.

Perhaps (?) I'm in an unusual position, having read all of Orwell's fiction, non-fiction, letters and diary. Plus two biographies. At least I can say with a certainty that I know more about Geo. Orwell (original name Eric Blair, Sarah), than does Ms. Palin or her ghostwriters.
I concur with those above who state that Palin hasn't a clue about Orwell's subtle, erudite, experienced view of world politics.
She always makes me chuckle when she says "Orwellian," and I can imagine what Orwell himself would think of a democracy that has sunk so low that Sarah Palin could spout her banalities and have anyone take her seriously.

Another "perhaps" here---I've read them all too, except for his diary. Now, if Sarah were to reference, oh, let's see, "The Road To Wigan Pier", or "Down And Out In Paris And London", I might think (might) that she actually had something to say about Orwell's views on politics and economics.

Todd was the shadow governor, he did much of the job for Palin to appear as if she was governing a state. Is he the one that hires all the incompetent help?

In a previous post a poor staff person wrote a letter and did not correct it. Causing problems for others. Now hired help is causing another set of problems.

I don't know where Palin heard "Orwellian". She may have even asked questions about it. Whoever is her trainer should be fired. They add to the proof of how stupid she is. She may not be the one deciding who SarahPac will hire. Todd may be her shadow SarahPac mistake. If she had any sense she would fire him. In any event I don't think it is Sarah alone that is making all these bad decisions. She is only going to be able to mimic what her trainers have her repeat. Who hires those people? Going back to when she worked for the State of Alaska and Wasilla city. Who hires her staff?

Sarah needs a serious image makeover and a new ghost writer. I might be available but I am afraid she couldn't afford my postage.

    ReplyDelete
  36. Anonymous10:45 PM

Well known RWNJ Brent Bozell caught with using a secret ghostwriter! That column he writes with his name on it? Not really.

    http://jimromenesko.com/2014/02/13/brent-bozell-urges-liberal-media-to-tell-the-truth-while-he-fibs-about-writing-a-column/

So maybe it wasn't Brent Bozell who wrote such classics as "HBO's Palin Pollution" (pissing and moaning about that Game Change movie)?

"Sarah Palin's top aides held a conference call to denounce the forthcoming HBO movie "Game Change," which like any ultraliberal media production, knocks Palin as a mentally imbalanced moron. Reporters are already underlining the Palin aides haven't seen the movie." http://www.creators.com/opinion/brent-bozell/hbo-s-palin-pollution.html

Of course this ghostwriting scandal may derail Bozell's recently announced plans for a RWNJ overthrow of the Republican House and Senate leadership. Bozell was planning on using his own ForAmerica to do this.

"After Paul Ryan hashed out a bipartisan budget deal late last year, Bozell predicted that the conservative base would "stampede away from a party that has lost its principles and bearings.”

"Time and again, year after year, the Republican leadership in the House and Senate has come to grassroots conservatives, and Tea Party supporters pleading for our money, our volunteers, our time, our energy and our votes," Bozell told CNN in a statement.

Bozell said the group will use digital ads between now and November to target House Speaker John Boehner (R-OH), House Majority Leader Eric Cantor (R-VA), House Majority Whip Kevin McCarthy (R-CA), Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) and Senate Minority Whip John Cornyn (R-TX)." http://talkingpointsmemo.com/livewire/brent-bozell-republican-leadership-for-america

Hey that's a real coincidence of timing, isn't it? Has anyone seen KKKarl Rove or Roger "The BowWow BBQ" Stone lately? Because I'm wondering if someone got some payback.

Oh and ForAmerica? Well just you betcha:

    "Palin May Make Presidential Run

If you read "Animal Farm" as an adult, without some dimwitted English or Civics teacher distorting it for you, its a real eye opener.

It was introduced to me as Orwell's expose of the horrors of Socialism. How the liberated farm animals, free of an evil dictator, instead became the pawns of new Communist dictators from their own ranks, the pigs.

Free of the evil misdirection of a deluded educator, I was able to see it was an attack on the evils of CAPITALISM.

The pigs didn't become Che Gueveras, they hogged up everything for themselves like George Westinghouse and the other robber barons of America, destroying the concept of "equality" which the new farm was to have as its foundation.

If Sarah ever actually tries to read an entire book like that one, her head will explode.

Of course the Grifter's Ghostie missed an important parallel to "Animal Farm." Sister Sarry and her poor babe Bristol are more like Mollie the white mare. I have always found Karl Rove to be very like the Machiavellian pig, Napoleon. And, I am Muriel. Many thanks to GradeSaver for the quickie profiles. I remembered the characters, but not the names.

Bill Maher showed Sarah Palin on his show last night and it wasn't in a good light! He assuredly is not impressed w/her!

Oh yes they do care what others think about them. But when faced with any criticism, they put cross hairs on the heads of them haters. They reload. They rearrange the stage so that they will always be the "star."

I know. My sister is an extreme narcissist. They have an arsenal of dirty tricks to turn the table on anyone who dares to question them.

Sarah needs a serious image makeover

Isn't that why Sarah sent high school dropout Willow to hair school and the world's most famous single struggling mother Bristol to makeup school?

This knuckleheaded broad just turned 50 on Tuesday, and she is just as ignorant and lacking in self-awareness as ever. Her use of the word "Orwellian" was just another excuse to bad-mouth the very president who was on the winning team during 2008's presidential election. She has never gotten over being defeated, and she has revealed herself as an extremely sore loser.

Being born in 1973 my hippie liberal tree hugging mother handed me "Animal Farm" in 1982. She told me to ask her about any words I might not understand. Right there is where my love of books and an educated mind developed. I have that same copy in front of me right now.

The preface states: "He hated totalitarianism, and served in the Loyalist forces in the Spanish Civil War. He was critical of Communism but was himself a Socialist. ....He hated lying and cruelty in life."

George Orwell would have detested Sarah Palin and in fact would be the perfect example of what he wrote about in a foreboding tone.

I remember that preface, I was a teenager too in the late 1960s and early ‘70s. The Orwellian concepts are simply too hard for people like Palin and the religious right to understand. They ignore entirely the historical context these books were reflecting. The country had barely survived the injustices of the McCarthy era, the Eisenhower presidency and was heading into the Vietnam War. The military-industrial complex was seriously entrenched in Southern California and beginning to master the puppet strings of our economy. And Palin thinks the Obama presidency is Orwellian? Her (or her ghostwriter’s) ignorance is astounding and clearly willful. Shameful
