CPAC in a nutshell.

Yep that is about as much as the conservatives care about minority outreach.

I am dying to see just now small the crowd is by the time that Sarah Palin finally speaks late Saturday.

Talking about waste of taxpayers money!!!
Is that the view AFTER everybody went home, or during one of their 'important' speeches??? (Giving the benefit of a doubt here, because i have NEVER seen a room THAT empty when it had that much space.)

I shit you not. This was about 10 minutes into the presentation. They really needed the projectors running on both sides of the stage, so everyone could see the speakers, huh?

    2. There's no taxpayer money supporting CPAC, but there is lots and lots of corporate and fake RW PAC dollars. A corporation or group can subsidize CPAC at certain amounts/levels of "giving."

"Rarely seen and previously unreported tax filings for the ACU and ACU Foundation, the group responsible for staging CPAC, reveal that in the 2010 tax year, the National Rifle Association provided $225,000 of the ACU Foundation’s overall revenue. In 2010 the ACU Foundation reported $288,670 in grant revenue and $1,063,103 in “program service revenue.” The NRA’s executive vice president and CEO, Wayne LaPierre, has been a regular featured speaker at past CPAC events and he again spoke at the gathering on Thursday. The 2013 CPAC included an event titled “NRA University” at which CPAC attendees could “learn more about NRA, Second Amendment, gun control debate.” It even offered participants “a FREE one-year NRA membership,” according to the conference schedule. The NRA is a “presenting sponsor” at the 2014 conference—a sponsorship level requiring a $110,000 contribution."

"In 2010 the billionaire Koch brothers’ companies contributed a total of $50,000 to the ACU and the ACU Foundation. In the same year, cigarette giant Altria contributed $25,000 to the ACU, and the conservative Anschutz Foundation contributed $25,000 to the ACU Foundation."

CPAC is a scam, just like everything else that is related to the GOP. Those who pay to attend CPAC and think they're participating in an event meant to represent "conservative" views are really supporting the interests of corporations and the very wealthy.

Once upon a time Sarah used to be the main attraction now she's become the closing act for CPAC. Second year in a row that she's last. Also, I hear she's got a booth - selling T-shirts - promoting her new reality show. I have a great idea for her - create a new perfume and call it "Moose Musk."

Hot grandma?! Sarah stopped being a hot grandma back in 2010-2011. In 2014, she's a hot mess and possibly suffering from hot flashes. That's about as hot as the grifter is these days.

Unfortunately, I bet Sarah will draw a large crowd. CPAC attendees obviously don't care anything about minorities, but they love them some Sarah Palin. They'll love her stupid schtik. What will it be this year? She has to top her big gulp moment from last year. I expect something over the top, and so will the attendees at CPAC. Maybe she really will pole dance this year. Blech

C'mon Gryphen—you know they'll be lined up against the walls as Sarah hauls in a semi-trailer of bloody red meat to throw at the droolers. She'll screech her usual litany of nastiness about President Obama (she just can't get past being his stalker), she'll rub her gristly ass up against a poster of Putin and use some kind of prop to get the easily excited teadraggers rabid. She'll mention that something she belched in 2008 end up making her still look stupid but she got press

Sarah walks on to the CPAC stage carrying a bear cub. As she reaches the podium, she smugly smiles at the crowd and hears one or two voices shouting out from the audience, "We love you, Sarah!," before she screeches her zinger into the mic, "Only a grizzly mama can handle a bear!" And then her supporters go wild at CPAC and medieval on Twitter.

    01:12 p.m. – Jim DeMint, president - Heritage Foundation

The important speakers opened the conference yesterday. Newt is a failed presidential candidate. Jim quit to cash in (just like Sarah). Sarah's style is to pose for photos with her fans, after her speech. If she was scheduled to speak on Friday or Saturday, that would take away attention from the regular speakers. Going last, she can claim that they saved the best for the last while the reason is that it gives her time to pose for photos after her speech. Her ego really needs that. Also, too, by 5:45 pm, people had to check out of their hotels at noon (to avoid extra payment), and they are more interested in getting to the airport early to avoid the line at security to catch the last plane home. If they stay to hear Palin's speech, they can't get out until well after 6, getting to the airport by 6:30 or 7 PM for the last flight out. The alternative is an extra night at the hotel.

Also speaking, Sat PM Ben Carson, Ann Coulter, and Cox the NRA Pres. And.....a panel of women discussing why women should be/vote conservative.

The NRA Pres. is going to introduce Sarah.....so I hate to disagree, but she will be rootin' & tootin' to a full house. She'll throw out some freshly shot raw moose meat....and hate filled one liners about our Pres. The crowd will roar and Grizzled Granny will do some of her fancy pageant walking while twirling an AK-something or other. And on that high note, the convention closes.

So the door opened for Sarah, and it appears to be one of those revolving ones that keeps spinning in the same direction over and over.

I had a good laugh this morning on facebook... CSPAN polled its facebook followers with the following questions.
"Progressives only: whom do you think best represents your views?" The answers were overwhelmingly and consistently Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren.

    Then CSPAN asked:
"Conservatives only: whom do you think best represents your views?"
The answers were all over the map. Those people are just a melting pot of crazy. Sarah P got quite a few votes. My god, the disorganization... the hapless, hopeless thinking of those poor backwards morons. I took special delight in noting that pretty much all the responses were rife with typos and misspellings of people's names. (It's hard to vote for Ted Cruz if you think his name is "Ned Kuriz." Just sayin'.)

Attendance was the same for every other CPAC panel discussion. Generally the big-name speakers at CPAC get the large crowds and the panel events conducted in between – in the same huge ballroom – tend to get lower attendance. It is a HUGE waste of money.

I don't see how she'll be cleaned up enough to make an appearance at CPAC considering how drugged she was on Hannity just a few days ago. If she has to stay off whatever she's on in order to deliver a speech, then how will she cope with doing without? If they drug her to calm her down, then how will she manage to give a live screech?

CPAC Presidential Straw Poll Thursday, and Rep. Rand Paul beats Sen. Ted Cruz by a hefty margin. Paul was first with 29% of the vote among the CPAC attendees; Cruz was second at 17%. They were followed by Ben Carson at 10%, Marco Rubio at 10% and Chris Christie at 10%.

Interestingly, Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker, who many think helped kill the labor union movement, came in at only 7%. Rep. Paul Ryan, believed to be the “intellectual” among Republicans—and the 2012 GOP candidate for vice president—came in at 2 percent, tied with Jeb Bush and Rick Santorum. Mike Pence got only 1%, perhaps a big shocker here, but Viguerie reports that “Sarah Palin and Bobby Jindal did not receive enough votes to remain on the leader board.”

No mention at all of Donald Trump.
