Uh oh, somebody's crusty panties are in a wad!
The post links to a Breitbart article which essentially blames opposition research for finding some old story, which of course they claim is completely false, to smear a guy who the National Review once identified in a cover story as "Obamacare's Nebraska Nemesis."
Well according to Politico that is exactly what happened:
Sasse provided early “strategic advice” to former Health and Human Services Secretary Mike Leavitt’s health care consulting firm while the firm pitched itself to clients in early 2010 to help implement the Affordable Care Act. Sasse is listed, along with his photograph and biography, as a “senior advisor” under the heading “Leavitt Partners team” in PowerPoint presentations from April and May 2010 in which Leavitt’s firm sold its Obamacare expertise.
Titled “A Framework for Health Reform,” the presentations sought to explain various aspects of the law. One page lists the “funding sources” and “benefits” of the Affordable Care Act. Other pages detail the “10-year implementation process” and describe “structural shifts” in the health care industry as a result of the law.
Of course the Sasse campaign claims he was never paid by this company, has no affiliation with this program, and has no real memory of 2010 at all. (Okay I made up that last part.)
Personally I don't think that this story is going to make much difference one way or the other.
I mean come on! This guy was endorsed by Sarah "Albatross" Palin!
What could be more damaging to the campaign than that?
Of course, this cannot possibly be. Didn't Sarah Palin say that anyone she endorses would be carefully vetted by her personally? We all know how diligent and thorough she is. Never mind those pesky facts and verifiable history.
ReplyDeleteBut her PAC pays consultants hundreds of thousands of dollars per year to "consult" and presumably do things like vet those that she lends her support to. However, Palin is only where she is because of sloppy vetting, so perhaps all of her candidates of choice are subject to the same level of scrutiny, meaning little or none.

That's the problem in a nutshell. Sarah is always right. Anyone who has the temerity to say anything negative about their idol immediately has their name added to the enemies of Sarah list; and the list grows longer with each passing day. There are many who were once thought of by her fans as being top notch and on Sarah's side but once they say utter a disparaging word about her they then become the scum of the earth.
According to those who hang on her every word and action, Sarah, and any member of her family, can do no wrong. There is a positive spin put on everything. I wonder if they will ever admit to the fact that she has them completely bamboozled.

Mrs. Palin may still have a residual state healthcare plan from her time as Governor, however she only enjoyed the native healthcare while she was pregnant. Only direct descendants from the actual native person, Todd, are allowed full coverage, and any woman that is carrying the native persons baby.

DeleteThey should be. We should have single payer medical that covers every man, woman and child in these United States. However, the Federal Government extends health benefits to American Natives through the Indian Health Service (IHS) as part of reparations for relocation and repatriation of Native Americans onto Reservations and our inhabiting lands which were not ours.
Its simply a program to assuage "white people conqueror's guilt".

ReplyDelete...This is pretty much what the President has been saying, and is a far cry from McCain’s recent “the President needs to be stronger against Russia” rhetoric.
It’s also a big reversal from his Vice Presidential pick’s announcement that the only way to stop a bad guy with a nuke is with a good guy with a nuke. (And here Sarah Palin promised us she was keepin’ an eye on Putin.)

Instead he goes all Palin and calls them
" desperation " and " not the Nebraska way. "
However, the paper reports that there is evidence to support that Sasse worked with
the firm promoting Obamacare.
