Morality is not determined by the church you attend nor the faith you embrace. It is determined by the quality of your character and the positive impact you have on those you meet along your journey

The Idiot's Guide to Smart People. Politics edition.
Okay I have a question.
Is this a smart person blog from which people steal their opinions?
OT: but appropriate. OMFG Alaska put on your big girl panties!!! ok I can't believe the whining from this? Someone from the EPA came to AK and a little girl gave her a jar of moose meat that would 'Gag a maggot" and All the idiots are up in arms!!! Put on the big girl panties! Boys! http://bit.ly/1hlYgrD And since most of it comes from roadkill.... granted the lady is a oaf, and should insert foot into mouth but still, I've really had it with the republican Whineeeeee that never stops....
Slightly o/t -- A senior at our local very selective college was interviewed about his internship at the U.S. Senate. Here's what he said: " I saw John McCain walking around. That was cool. I'm not a huge John McCain fan, but allegedly he sort of just sometimes walks around, and people will be like 'Hey, Senator, where ya going?" He'll be like 'I don't know!' Apparently, that is a recurring thing. He looked pretty lost whenever I saw him."
From the time I found you six years ago, Gryph, IM has always been my go-to blog. Face it, if you were just another dime a dozen blogger, you wouldn't be on banned lists at book signings. Why would anyone care if you were there, hmmmmm?
I send links like "Flash Mob Done Right" and "This Will Happen Sometime Today" to my children. My daughter shares them with her sorority sisters. The Wendy Davis and Susan G. Komen posts caused uproars in her house.
Since I am a conservative, all this caught them off guard.
This blog has helped open my children's eyes a bit to who I am and has earned me a lot of Brownie points.
You've found another good one. Someone in our family was in a severe car accident, she tried the same "get rich quick" frivolous lawsuit, and lost. Approximately four months after her case, she got a bill from the state for her breaking the guard rail, gas, oil and anti freeze polluting the creek, having the jaws of life cut her out an ambulance ride to "life flight", a "heelycopter" that takes people to hospitals, which spurred, you guessed it, four more frivolous lawsuits and a HUGE lien against her house.
She should have waited for God like this doorstop.
I don't really come here to steal opinions, but sometimes I actually learn something new.
Here's my RWNJ Mooslim conspiracy post for today.
Anti-Muslim bigots freak out when Texas TV station warns of oncoming haboob
"A haboob refers specifically to a wall of dust created by cool, dense air blowing away from a thunderstorm or along a cold front, said meteorologist Jerome James.
But it signaled something even more threatening to some of the station’s Facebook fans.
“Never had a haboob until we got that muslim boob for potus,” said viewer Jeff Bertrand, referring to President Barack Obama, who is believed by some of this critics to secretly be a Muslim."
It's a compliment and a crack all in the same breath. And since we're both not wealthy, let's keep writing letters, and sending passionate emails, and everything else you do to all all the smart people that visit IM with the ammunition and tools we need to FEEL LIKE we're winning elections and making a difference. Prime example of grandiose delusion of influence: McCain/Palin losing 2008 & 2012 elections. One with the sole effort of running for President, the other for the implied notion of running. He'll be tied to her as his legacy long after he's left this world.

I don't know about anyone else, but I come to this since defunct blog to learn, see how other folks opinions run, and for some great links to good information. Gryph was the first "Alaska blogger" who's work I trust and thoroughly enjoy. There were many others, Regina, Audrey, Bree, Progressive Alaska early on but that kind of faded, Some were in it as a stepping stone to book deals and radio programs, but Gryphen, by far, is the best. As are the regular comment folks and satirists.
Yes.
ReplyDeleteI’ve certainly learned from your posts and the accompanying comments. I hope people have learned from me.

ReplyDeleteRock on, dude!
Gryphen after reading your blog for a while I was inspired to start my own. Thank you!
ReplyDeleteLove your blog too, SPHASH, especially when the trolls show up. That's when you know you're onto something, chica!

So the answer to your question is yes.
And I thank you for it.
