Lexington County deputies say a 5-year old accidentally shot and killed a 7-year old and injured a 5-year old at a birthday party in Gaston Saturday.
Investigators say the child accidentally grabbed a loaded rifle when he was looking to grab a toy gun stored in the trunk of a car.
Deputies say the bullet struck the 7 year old girl in the chest and a 5 year old boy on the arm.
Investigators are not sure if anybody will be charged or not, you know because accidents happen.
Of course accidents like this happen only in places where people believe that owning a gun is a God given right, and where children's toys are modeled after deadly weapons.
After all the only difference between a child's toy gun in America and an adult's gun toy in America, is that one only LOOKS dangerous.
And I recently glanced past the headline of an article, didn't read the whole thing.....but now in urban areas, the guns are being painted/disguised to look like the toys!
ReplyDeleteThat should really help!
Yup. They got pink guns now for little girls (or little girl wanna-bes). Remember just the other day, Gryphen posted the picture of the guy holding his ten week old daughter, with a pink Glock starpped to her tiny butt.
DeleteJust type in 'pink guns' into google search... :(
Why the hell was a loaded gun being kept in the trunk of a car?
ReplyDeleteAnd why the hell isn't someone going to jail for being reckless enough to KEEP a loaded gun in the trunk of a car???
Exactly! I thought you are supposed to keep your guns in a gun safe - there are specific ones made for cars
DeleteWhy would anyone have a toy gun in a trunk with a real one? I suspect the parent had taken the child with him to also play guns when the parent had his gun. It seems a likely scenario the kid wanted to shoot and show a gun also. At least the child did not also start the car, kill another kid, shoot another and also r
DeleteEvery single time someone is shot "accidentally" by a gun left unsecured by yet another "responsible" gun owner, charges should be filed. There is no excuse. It demonstrates a reckless disregard for life and should be treated as such, no differently than using your automobile with a reckless disregard for safety.
ReplyDeleteEspecially if it is a parent. None of this "Oh, they've suffered enough" bullshit. No. They haven't. Their one job was to protect their child and they were too lazy or stupid or irresponsible to do so.
This is why gun control efforts should not just be on the mentally ill (although it should certainly be one of the criteria).
Too many deaths are caused by stupid, lazy, irresponsible, or angry people, who most certainly are not mentally ill. How do we keep guns out of their hands?

Gun range aims to be the first with a liquor license in Oklahoma
ReplyDeletehttp://www.okcfox.com/story/25226507/gun-range-aims-to-be-the-first-with-a-liquor-license-in-oklahoma
Yeah, what could possibly go wrong???
Your typical gun-humper will just shrug at this news. Hey, it wasn't HIS kid. And don't you dare try to control HIS precious dick... er, assault weapons. If one of his kids gets it out of the trunk and kills another kid with it, or hey, gets killed by it himself, that's just unfortunate collateral damage that can't be helped. Gun freedumbz is more important than human life to these cretins, because their guns represent what they desperately want you to think are their huge dicks.
ReplyDeleteIsn't it crazy that this shit always seems to happen in those states where the pro-lifers bang the drums loudly?
ReplyDeleteHow many "accidents" does it take before someone gets arrested for stupidity? Would anyone take offense at selling at minimum a trigger lock with each gun? I'm sure they're cheap enough for those who want guns but can't afford a gun safe, cabinet, or a trunk lock for their car?
ReplyDeleteI think the gun lovers must love their children as much as everyone else. This was easily avoidable.
