So Senator Sanders remembered that David Koch ran for Vice President on the Libertarian party ticket. This was the party platform under which he ran:
Here are just a few excerpts of the Libertarian Party platform that David Koch ran on in 1980:
“We urge the repeal of federal campaign finance laws, and the immediate abolition of the despotic Federal Election Commission.”
“We favor the abolition of Medicare and Medicaid programs.”
“We oppose any compulsory insurance or tax-supported plan to provide health services, including those which finance abortion services.”
“We also favor the deregulation of the medical insurance industry.”
“We favor the repeal of the fraudulent, virtually bankrupt, and increasingly oppressive Social Security system. Pending that repeal, participation in Social Security should be made voluntary.”
“We propose the abolition of the governmental Postal Service. The present system, in addition to being inefficient, encourages governmental surveillance of private correspondence. Pending abolition, we call for an end to the monopoly system and for allowing free competition in all aspects of postal service.”
“We oppose all personal and corporate income taxation, including capital gains taxes.”
“We support the eventual repeal of all taxation.”
“As an interim measure, all criminal and civil sanctions against tax evasion should be terminated immediately.”
“We support repeal of all law which impede the ability of any person to find employment, such as minimum wage laws.”
“We advocate the complete separation of education and State. Government schools lead to the indoctrination of children and interfere with the free choice of individuals. Government ownership, operation, regulation, and subsidy of schools and colleges should be ended.”
“We condemn compulsory education laws … and we call for the immediate repeal of such laws.”
“We support the repeal of all taxes on the income or property of private schools, whether profit or non-profit.”
“We support the abolition of the Environmental Protection Agency.”
“We support abolition of the Department of Energy.”
“We call for the dissolution of all government agencies concerned with transportation, including the Department of Transportation.”
“We demand the return of America's railroad system to private ownership. We call for the privatization of the public roads and national highway system.”
“We specifically oppose laws requiring an individual to buy or use so-called "self-protection" equipment such as safety belts, air bags, or crash helmets.”
“We advocate the abolition of the Federal Aviation Administration.”
“We advocate the abolition of the Food and Drug Administration.”
“We support an end to all subsidies for child-bearing built into our present laws, including all welfare plans and the provision of tax-supported services for children.”
“We oppose all government welfare, relief projects, and ‘aid to the poor’ programs. All these government programs are privacy-invading, paternalistic, demeaning, and inefficient. The proper source of help for such persons is the voluntary efforts of private groups and individuals.”
“We call for the privatization of the inland waterways, and of the distribution system that brings water to industry, agriculture and households.”
“We call for the repeal of the Occupational Safety and Health Act.”
“We call for the abolition of the Consumer Product Safety Commission.”
“We support the repeal of all state usury laws.”
Just for a second imagine if the Koch brothers were able to implement even a handful of these changes.
No taxes whatsoever would make retaining a military impossible.
Abolishing Medicaid and Medicare would leave millions without health care. Not exactly a problem for billionaires but a substantial one for many of us.
No FEC, no U.S. Post Office, no public education, no Department of Transportation, no FAA, no FDA, essentially no government oversight of business whatsoever.
In other words a country that does not have any checks and balances on businesses, collects no taxes, does not educate its children, and has no military to protect it.
Somehow none of that sounds like a particularly attractive place to live.
And just take a moment to remind yourselves of how closely that parallels the same things being advocated by the Tea Party, by Rand Paul, and by Joe Miller.
This is clearly the ideal that drives the Koch brother's political agenda, and it is what they are spending their money to achieve.
Some conservatives have come to their defense asking "What harm have they done." I think the answer is that they have done substantial harm, but not nearly as much as they intend.
Fred Koch is one of the founders of the John Birch Society:
ReplyDeletehttp://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Birch_Society
These assholes need to be investigated, watched and reviewed as to everything they touch! What friggin' jerks! Obviously all out for themselves and their hopeful ruling of the poor, minorities and the middle class (that will be no more under their rule!). Oh, I forgot the uneducated!
ReplyDeleteCreepy guys!!!
Those desired outcomes reminds me of a snake eating its own tail. If all that were successful, the snake would consume itself. The same would be true of the Koch's and all they own. With no one other than their band of elites to buy their goods and services, eventually their turn would come.
ReplyDeleteThey are plainly dangerous men. Hopefully their time on earth will come to an end sooner rather than later.
Agreed. They are monsters. Aren’t they lucky Daddy handed them a bunch of money? Please spread this far and wide.
DeleteDarlene -
DeleteIsn't it ironic that they're leaders of the party that constantly preaches about earning what you get and not being takers? Wonder where they would be if Daddy didn't start them off with a fortune.
Sure they've multiplied it many times over, but you have to start somewhere and they had a nice little inheritance to build on.
Rent or watch GASLAND and Gasland II! They want to drill on BLM lands and THAT is the reason we are seeing Wild Mustangs being rounded up and Bison. Now the Cattleman are getting bent out of shape b/c they can't graze their cattle on BLM lands! Would you want your beef to drink this?

This is what Sarah wants for ANWAR and Kock bros want for everywhere also too! I don't know where they live but we must VOTE BLUE and demand a end to FRACKING, drilling and develop sun energy, wind energy, geothermal and hydro-electric.
We are becoming the republic of Kock.
No that wasn't a typo. :(
So basically they want us to become Somalia.
ReplyDeleteCool. When the Kochs are out on their yachts we can send
our uneducated pirate children to kidnap them and hold their
asses for ransom for a few years.
"So basically they want us to become Somalia."
DeleteYup. Except without the 'blah' people.
YUP.
Delete"WE SUPPORT THE WINNER TAKING ALL!"
ReplyDelete"We plan on being the winners."
So essentially they want to dismantle the government to lord over... what?
ReplyDeleteBy the time they completely destroy everything, they'll be dead and leave a decimated society for someone else to clean up. Or they'll just take all the money they stole from the 99% and move somewhere else.
DeleteMeanwhile, the US will be looking like a remake of Mad Max.
...Lord over...enslaved Africans, Native Americans, Asians, all women, and white indentured servants.

there are four brothers:
ReplyDeleteFred C. Koch (1900–1967), American chemical engineer and entrepreneur who founded the oil refinery firm that later became Koch Industries and was one of the founding members of the John Birch Society [6][7][8][9]
Mary Robinson Koch (October 17, 1907 – December 21, 1990),[10] wife of Fred C. and namesake of the company tanker vessel Mary R. Koch
Four sons of Fred C. and Mary Robinson Koch:[10]
Frederick R. Koch (born 1933), collector
Charles G. Koch (born 1935), Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer of Koch Industries
David H. Koch (born 1940), Executive Vice President of Koch Industries
William Koch (born 1940), businessman, sailor, and collector
So Fred and Bill are collectors. Would that be like the guys in The Godfather that went around um.. collecting outstanding debt?
DeleteYou know these people are filthy rich when two of the children can list "collector" as their "job" description.
DeleteOne of those "other brothers" owns a collection of tanks.
DeleteYes, military tanks.
All old enough to die at any time.
DeleteHere's praying God calls them all home soon, if only passing by to a warmer, more deserving eternity.
Papa Fred was quite a trickster. When he got shut out of the US oil industry in the 1920's, he went off to Stalin's Russa to make his fortune and to build Russia'a oil industry. And he succeeded and stayed there until Stalin started with his purges in the 1930's. (Maybe Papa Koch was afraid of being "purged" himself.) Then he took his money and ran - back to the US where he eventually transformed himself into Mr. Anti-Communist, busy accusing all sorts of Americans, who had never abandoned their country to make a mint in Communist lands, of being Communist sympathizers. The John Birch Society was his perfect cover. So, Charles and David are, among many things, sons of a super-jerk. I wish some enterprising investigative reporter would look into the background of these two fascist corporatists who are out to destroy this country and publish the truth of how they got their wealth.

it's simple, those two treasonous piece of shit anti american brothers want to have ultimate privatized control over all the above and then some - the ultimate oligarchy ..
ReplyDelete- amazing that the mouth droolers that support these asshats and their paid political parrots don't recognize that simple fact ...
This took my breath away with the horrific outcome they want. This is a chilling and frightening look at what could be.
ReplyDeleteWhile much of what they propose is the dismantling of anything now overseen by Government, one goal is especially chilling and would not be killing a government program or agency -- They want to have private owners of all inland water and water distribution? OMG, no one could afford whatever price they would put on it. No one can own this natural resource, and yet I know many are trying to get this done.
Nothing but total chaos would ensue if they get control of our government. This would be as bad as, if not worse than the Middle Ages.
The movie 'Idiocracy' describes the world of Koch fairly well. If you have not seen it or seen it lately, please watch (especially the intro).
Deletedowl
Worse. As bad as we think it was, the landed aristocracy of the Middle Ages had a sense of chivalry, noblesse oblige (noble obligation) to their people. They were taught to care for their people even if it was like a parent and child or an owner and possessions. There were feast days and festivals and they made sure the church was there to take care of the poor. Todays 1%ers have never been taught the obligation of their position relative to the poor. They have no sense of "doing the right thing". The elites of the middle ages didn't steal their subjects blind and give nothing back, which is exactly what the Kochs would like nothing better than to happen. The Koch brothers want to own and control everything down to the air and water and give NOTHING back to the people. Have NOTHING as a safety net.
DeleteI'm surprised I didn't see repeal child labor laws on there so that we can send our 5 year olds to work in the mines. I guess they missed that one. Or maybe that is a natural outcome of the destruction of public education and all of the other government regulations and agencies.
This is fascism. Fascism is what the Kochs want. Only the elite have democracy and the rest of us live under a tyrannical dictatorship. The only reason the Kochs support this is because they'll be on top. If they lost everything and were just one of us, you'd see how fast they changed their philosophy to exactly the opposite of what it is now.
I only hope they didn't breed and if they did, their offspring are completely disgusted by the actions of their parents and rebel in the completely opposite direction.
Wow! If all of the party platform items came to fruition as David Koch wished when running for Vice President of the Libertarian Party why would there be a need for a President, VP, Senate or House? We would have a dictator! Not a place where I WANT to live and raise my children and grandchildren. If Democrats don't get off our asses and vote next November then we are giving these assholes permission to screw us all!!
ReplyDeleteThose armed maniacs who showed up IN NV are one of the many groups secretly supported by the Koch brothers.
ReplyDeleteThese two are evil. They desire the total meltdown of all the accomplishments that made America a great and powerful nation. They and their ilk seek not to build, but to destroy. They want the masses ignorant and in poverty so they can rule.
ReplyDeleteSCARY SH*T!!!
ReplyDeleteGryphen, you're all a bunch of whiny crybaby libtards!
ReplyDeleteFINALLY, these two men - probably sent by Jeebus Hisoownself to save us - have the PERFECT prescription for what ails us and I applaud their patriotism!
(I did notice that they failed to mention the obligation of every Amercian to openly carry weapons, beginning at conception, but I will assume it was an oversight of your fellow libtard Bernie Sanders. After all, universal deployment of lethal weapons from pre-cradle to early grave is a severe conservative's wet dream.)
Now that the Cock Bros' agenda is clearly out in the open and thus much much closer to total implementation, I have my own announcement to make to you and the last few remaining librul deadenders still visiting this sad-faced defunct blog: In light of the imminent return of the United States to a natural survival-of-the-fittest, might-makes-right, if-I-can-see-you-I-can-kill-you-and-your-little-dog-also-too, every-man-woman-and-child-for-himself state, I am canceling my planned emigration to Somalia to live freely with the violent warlords, heavily armed pirates, illiterates, the impoverished, the diseased and the religious zealots.
Gryphen, I have much much more to say on this topic and have already sent you a lengthy diatribe by US Postal Service. My heartfelt prayer is that before that envelope is delivered to you, every insane demand of these two wealthy douchebags is met, including the dissolution of the US Postal service. (Which is, by the way, a government service explicitly mandated in the US Constitution. Apparently, as long as the 2nd Amendment remains sacrosanct, everything else is negotiable....)
Thanks Beldar, especially well done Koch-bashing!

It is all coming back to me. In the 60's I wrote a school paper on the John Birch Society. Their slogan was: "This is a Republic, not a democracy; Let's keep it that way!"
ReplyDeleteI wish the Democrats would let Bernie come up with their national strategy. He's the only one who's not afraid to attack the Republicans back.
ReplyDeleteSenator Sanders has been at the top of my most trusted and most important politicians for years. Sadly, it's a shorter list than it should be. How sad that the majority has succumbed to their individual power and money trips. Doubt that's fixable in any near future with the likes of this century's edition of leading robber barons like the Kochs and Waltons at the helm of the pirate ship.
ReplyDeleteI fear what is ahead for my children and grandchildren at their hands. Saddest, most of them, and so many others, have never heard of the mega billionaire John Birch trust fund babies and stare blankly when one tries to explain their goals and the impact of their treasonous deeds already in place.
My wonderful, liberal, educated daughter is married to a very nice man who has an abundance of good qualities. What worries me is his stated libertarian philosophy. Guess I could have more respect for his political leaning if he were a bit more educated about the true party platform. He lives in some sort of sound bite bumper sticker concept of the ism rather than the stark reality resulting from actually dismantling the majority of government agencies. This from a man who retired from the military and returned to that exact military job as a highly paid civilian after his 20 year retirement. Very cushy double dipping he would likely lose if he and his 'party' had their way.
Most distressing to me is watching my child slowly accepting some of his political reasoning over the years. I believe she was on the verge of voting Romney last time around due to his fear of the 'creeping socialism' of President Obama. We had a long overdue mom/daughter chat over the meaning of socialism. She later said she voted PBO but let him think she went along with his advice. I hope reminding her that her job in the mental healthcare industry which is highly subsidized by Medicaid would no longer exist gave her better food for thought. Would she rather these endless lines of abused children be at the mercy of charity and churches rather than a government mandate that ALL American citizens deserve to be protected and removed from harm regardless of age or economic standing?
Thanks Unc G for posting your very concisely distilled synopsis of Senator Sanders Koch Industries exposure so I could share it.
And I imagine that any charitible agency providing tratment for the mentally and emotionally afflicted would be of coursre required to be "baptised" in their faith as part of their "treatment program".
DeleteAnd I imagine that any charitable agency or church providing treatment for the mentally and emotionally afflicted would be, of course, required to be "baptized" in their faith as part of their "treatment program".
DeleteYeah, rich people should be able to own the water supply. That would be the Kochs' wet dream.
ReplyDeleteQuit your tiresome belly-aching, folks, or else Charlie Koch will be forced to write yet another Wall Street Journal op-ed piece denouncing your slanderous criticisms, and explaining how his family's activities are all benignly directed toward making the world a much better place.
ReplyDeleteWhy don't they just move to Somalia?
ReplyDeleteWith their money, they could set themselves up quite nicely among the rival warlords.
In other words: let the 1% control everything?
ReplyDelete...didn't we fight a revolution a couple of hundred years ago to get away from that very thing?
Yes, but those were British 1%ers.
DeleteApparently, when they're home grown American 1%ers, it's OK.
A country like that exists, it's called Somalia. I encourage the Kochs to move there at their earliest convenience.
ReplyDeleteDid anyone get that he laid out a plan to successfully exterminate the poor populations so that they could free up the resources that only the remaining rich and the poor souls they carefully deemed worthy to serve as suitable slaves could enjoy? It all makes sense now!
ReplyDeleteThe Tea Party was designed to incite race riots and civil wars to begin self destruction of the unwashed masses. The War On Women was to increase white birth populations and eliminate women from the workforce. If the womenfolk are at home, there is no need for children and family service programs -- especially since they are planning to annihilate other remaining and competing minority races. The Farm Bill was to have free reign to control the food distribution channels. Citizens United was to do away with all tax laws (i.e. vote idiots into Congress that are easily bribed and do not understand law so they vote against the Country's best interest). Repeal Obamacare was to have free reign to eliminate Medicaid, Medicare and all relief/service projects. Eliminating the FDA, EPA and DOT would eliminate travel options of the people they have marked for extermination so that when they restrict food and water access to them, they die within their own communities/locales. You know, to keep things neat! No Dept of Education and only home and church schools because they DON'T indoctrinate the kids lucky enough to pay for school. And church school should be treated just like a church - no taxes on income. Oh, and screw the FAA -- so only people that own planes can fly out when they release their plans of US annihilation. Lastly, after they bomb us with nuclear energy, they can return to build their new condos over the vast wasteland and re-create their version of a lily-white rich man's heaven.
So, as they gain momentum in their quest, they are gunning for:
No water access
No food access
No access to education
No access to communications
No governmental accountability
No taxes
No ability to travel
No social service programs to "help those in need" - slaves don't need money
NOTE: All children had by slaves will only work as slaves and will never be educated
People, share this list with your Tea Party friends and then politely remind them that they are not a part of the winning team. They too are predestined to die alongside the rest of us.
Hope this gets you motivated to get out and vote these idiots out of office.
Hopefully these nasty Koch brothers die off before Hillary Clinton is elected President!!! They are not going to like having her in office especially after President Obama served two terms!
ReplyDeleteScrew them and the things they rode in on!
Give Koch brothers and their relatives seats on the first rocket heading for Mars. They want to rule something let it be another planet, not ours. They do not deserve to live here.
ReplyDelete
