Shoeghazi! Conservatives convinced that Hillary Clinton planned the shoe throwing incident to, "make her seem presidential."

Courtesy of TPM:

Call them the shoe truthers.

Some conservative media figures are openly wondering if Hillary Clinton staged an incident during a speech in Las Vegas on Thursday in which a woman in the audience threw a shoe at her. The shoe appeared to miss the rumored 2016 presidential hopeful, who ducked and made light of it, while the reported thrower, Alison Michelle Ernst, was booked by the authorities.

A blog post published Monday at the website of Fox News commentator Bernard Goldberg speculated that Clinton probably "calculated it beforehand," as is "almost always true" with things that happen to her.

"So it would not be stretching logic to suppose that Hillary arranged to have the shoe thrown at her," wrote Arthur Louis at Goldberg's site. "Remembering the Bush incident [when an Iraqi journalist threw two shoes at President George W. Bush], she may have calculated that this would make her seem presidential. This would explain why Ms. Ernst was not pounded to a pulp by Hillary's bodyguards, and why she seems on the verge of getting off scot free. Don’t be too surprised, the next time you visit Phoenix, if you see her sitting at a table in a downtown Hillary for President store front, stuffing and sealing envelopes."

Rush Limbaugh chimed in with much the same theory:

"I'm sorry, I'm ill-equipped to comment," Limbaugh said, adding: "Maybe it's because, in my subconscious, I think it was staged, or set up, or whatever. ... I don't know why anybody would be throwing a shoe at Hillary unless -- maybe it's an attempt to make the Benghazi people look like nuts and lunatics and wackos."

Well he's right about one thing, he is indeed "ill-equipped to comment."

Okay to start off the woman IS being charged with two criminal activities, that could see her spend a year in jail.

Second she has a history of mental problems which include believing that the Aurora theater shooter, enters her mind like Dennis Quaid from "Innerspace" and "zooms" to her heart making her care about him.

This is perhaps one of the stupidest theories I have ever heard from the Right Wing, and let's face it THAT is really saying something.

You know perhaps if Clinton had reached up and caught the shoe their skepticism might make some modicum of sense, but since she seemed completely oblivious to the incoming footwear until after it passed by her head, there is nothing suspicious in her reaction.

Gee, if only these same people would have been half as skeptical of all the bullshit shoveled out by the Bush administration.

Yes, it is rather amazing how the skepticism in the right is at a high pitch since January 2009. Somehow they missed the Patriot Act in 2001, the war in Iraq and the Afghanistan War! When I hear them go off now like they just discovered Watergate it makes me laugh.

So the woman who thought the Aurora shooter was controlling her thoughts was in league with Hilary? Really, the republican stupidity and crazy in this country has maxed out to the point that any minute a large hole is going to open up and suck the
    insane sonofabitches into the core.

I can't wait for the hole to open up! May Sarah Palin be one the first to be sucked into it.

The pseudo-christiany theocratic domionist Rapture Ready Armageddon Now crowd would call it 'The second coming of Jesus Christ' and continue to grift for gold in the name of God, with guns and the Adelson Rove Kochs (oh my).

  3. Does anyone know what happened to the "shoe thrower"? I would think she would be charged with something!

They're just getting started on Hillary. They are going to throw everything, including the kitchen sink at her.

But the beauty of Hillary is that she is fully vetted. They have spent all those years when Bill was President trying to take her down. But Hillary is still standing. And in 2017 on January 20, she will be standing in the oval office as the 45th President of the United States of America.

They give themselves away with all their conspiracy crap. They think the Dems do it because they know damn well that THEY do it and can't imagine that everyone doesn't do this sort of thing. They know they lie and just assume that is normal. Very sad commentary on the state of our country.

Projection by the right is rampant. It is a form of denial of their own nature. It reminds me of the finger in the ears and the la, la, la, la, la routine they engage in when facts are presented. They really are children.

Very simple answer: the people who lie the most have the greatest difficulty believing anyone else ever tells the truth.

That's why shameless operatives like The Donald, The Ted "Ted" Cruz and The Screechy Wretch(tm) are routinely accusing others of lying.

Notice how, for example, as evidence mounts that the number of Obamacare insurance subscribers is significantly higher than first estimated, the Angry Right Wing Professional Prevaricators go on the offensive insisting that the actual number is far less than first estimated due to massive, rampant (and thoroughly unproven claims of) corruption and lying at every level of the Obama administration.

Oh yes, she planned the whole thing so she could be compared to BUSH. Contrasted to him, yes, compared to him, no.

Indeed! If you follow the logic behind this nonsense, it's hilarious at every turn. "Hillary wanted to look like Bush so she colluded with a crazy woman."

Sorry to be off topic but yet another fundamental christian homeschooling quiverfull friends of the Duggars hot mess sex abuse lawsuit.

    http://www.rightwingwatch.org/content/religious-right-leader-sued-sexual-battery-treating-young-follower-personal-sex-object

ALLEGEDLY (after all these are christians and innocent until proven guilty)
"In a bombshell lawsuit that exposes the shocking ways women are treated in the Quiverfull movement — the patriarchal program popularized by the Duggar family and its TLC reality show 19 Kids and Counting — attorneys representing Lourdes Torres have revealed details of the abuse she received from Doug Phillips of Vision Forum.

The lawsuit [PDF], which includes counts of sexual battery and assault, details the “inappropriate, unwanted, and immoral sexual acts committed by Douglas Phillips against Ms. Torres,” noting that Phillips “methodically groomed Ms. Torres” since she was 15 years old “so that she would eventually participate in illicit sexual rendezvous with him promising that she could one day marry him” and “repeatedly told Torres that this was possible because his wife, Beall Phillips, was going to die soon.”"

Hillary Clinton had eye problems after her concussion last year.
She had double vision for awhile and had to wear special glasses.
It's idiotic for anyone to believe that
Hillary would risk permanent eye damage or a broken nose
by having a shoe thrown at her face.
What would be the point ?
Only the conspiracy tin foil hat brigade led by Limbaugh would believe such moronic garbage.
Hillary is actually brave enough to appear in public,
Limbaugh is a pussy who hides
    behind his security guards .

Don'tcha know that she FAKED that cocnussion last year also, too?! (That's what those crazies immediately suggested, just like now, where they suggest that she is the one who instigated this whole 'shoe-gazy'...)

Yeah, I ventured over to the asylum and an anus who shall remain nameless also has a theory involving her carefully chosen pants suit in Lib Dem Blue. It's sending out those magical "I'm Running" vibes to all her donors.
I'm shocked no one noticed her wiggle her nose like Samantha on "Bewitched".

The asylum is the asylum. Food Stamp Pete got a job at a coffee shop for the summer. Betcha it pays low enough wage that he keeps those food stamps living off the government while he whines about the Marxist president.

I'd like to ask the RWNJ idiots exactly how having a shoe thrown at you makes you seem "presidential"? The only famous American I've heard of who's been the "victim" of a shoe throwing incident is George W. Bush and he was never very "presidential" despite holding the office for eight years. Just imagine organizing such a hoax with a really, really crazy person! It's laughable! Oh, conservative wingnuts, just go away and let the grown ups conduct business.

What kind of idiot would even think for a moment that Hillary would WANT someone to throw a shoe at her? You could imagine her to be the worst person in the world and even then the idea that she would engineer someone to throw a shoe at her is insane.

Throwing a shoe at someone in Iraq is a great insult. Thus the Iraqi journalist was trying to insult the American President, Mr. Bush (as I call him) at that time.

So here is the irony. I can't help but wonder if this woman with "a history of mental problems" was most likely agitated by right wing fear mongering. So she wanted to insult Hillary by using the very social mores which are used by a culture that the RW abhors. Clever. Like I said, she was more likely influenced by someone on the right (in my mind) to commit this act.
What I find even more incredulous is the way these pundits gloss over the fact that the shoe throwing incident was the highest form of insult to Mr. Bush and in no way indicates anything Presidential!!
