Gun dropped in Wal-Mart barely misses newborn, wings mother. Just another example of the 2nd Amendment keeping us safe.

Courtesy of WBIW:

A Clifford woman was hit by a bullet Saturday night while shopping at the westside Walmart in Columbus. That's according to a report from The Republic.

Columbus Police Chief Jon Rohde was at the store at about 8 p.m. Saturday night when he heard a gunshot. Rohde told The Republic that 56-year-old Tony E. Ward of Columbus had been carrying a .22 pistol in a holster on his waistband. The gun fell from his waist and discharged.

The bullet went through a soda bottle in a cart and struck the right arm of 26-year-old Virginia Thompson, who was pushing her newborn baby when the gun went off. The bullet hit the outside of Thompson's arm and after treatment by paramedics she declined to be taken to the hospital.

Of course the man had a permit for his gun so there was no arrest.

After all this is the price for living in America. Every once in a while you have to avoid incoming gunfire.

And remember kids, guns don't kill people, they only barely miss their child and wound them in the arm when dropped.

Gun Fanatics Express Their Support For a Mass Murderer’s Second Amendment Rights

...The notorious response from gun fanatics after each mass murder using firearms informs why this country will continue suffering firearm tragedies; “guns don’t kill people, people with guns kill people.” The response from the NRA, open-carry advocates, and 2nd Amendment devotees to this country’s predilection to shooting-sprees and mass murders informs that they share a common worldview with the people who go on shooting rampages; “my right to own weapons of mass destruction (guns) trumps your right to live.” As gun zealots are inclined to parrot ad nauseum, guns are not the problem, crazy people are, but there is no difference between crazed mass shooters and gun fanatics.

Gun advocates revealed their solidarity with the Santa Barbara shooter immediately following the tragedy when open-carry advocates in Texas strapped assault rifles across their backs and went into family restaurants terrifying patrons. Without provocation or solicitation, Joe “the plumber” Wurzelbacher penned an angry “open letter” in response to the bereaved man whose 20-year-old son was indiscriminately gunned down to inform him that “your dead child doesn’t trump my Constitutional rights” as if he is the victim in the horrific Santa Barbara mass murders. Of course, the National Rifle Association followed its regular tactic of lying low for a week or two before emerging with a new round of calls to put more guns in the hands of more people for no other purpose than equipping them to kill other people.

The NRA will never reveal that the only purpose of a firearm is to terminate life. It does not matter if it is ending the life of a wild creature or a human being, a gun’s only purpose is to kill. However, without a human behind the gun, it is just an inanimate object devised, manufactured, and utilized by humans to end life with immediacy and extreme prejudice; likely from a distance. It is a common occurrence after a mass shooting for gun zealots to rise up and defend the shooter’s right to own and use firearms, including publicly displaying guns to show their solidarity with the mass murderer’s 2nd Amendment right to end life. Make no mistake, shotguns, long rifles, automatic handguns, and assault rifles are manufactured to end life; primarily human life. Except for a dwindling number of hunting enthusiasts, the preponderance of Americans who purchase firearms have them to kill other Americans; even if kept for home security. For gun maniacs, the NRA, and open-carry advocates who immediately terrify the public with assault-style weapons strapped across their backs and automatic handguns holstered on their hip, the reason for displaying their guns or supporting unrestricted gun ownership is publicly announcing that, like mass shooters, they own firearms with the intent to kill people. The reason the Santa Barbara, Columbine, Aurora, and Sandy Hook, among many others, shooters had possession of firearms is precisely the same as gun fanatics; to kill other Americans.

I agree, just post the link with a brief explanation. Most of us go to these other sites anyway and are bound to have seen this in our daily travels thru the inter webs.

Then again, most of us ignore TLDR comments.

O/T but oh so satifying. Even the rabid viewers at Fox have had it with all the spun up outrage and bullshit narrative that they've been pushing nonstop.

Fox Fail: Benghazi 'Scandal' is Destroying Fox News as Ratings Plunge 27% in May

Viewers are fleeing Fox News as their attempt to turn Benghazi into a real scandal has led to ratings dropping by 27% in May.

Fox News was down 27% in total day viewers and 25% in younger viewers compared to May 2013. Fox News was also down 26% in total viewers and 28% with younger viewers in primetime. In both daytime and primetime, Fox News delivered their lowest ratings with younger viewers since August 2001.

TVNewser has the ugly primetime details, “All the network’s primetime shows are down double-digits year-over-year. “The O’Reilly Factor” is down -28% in total viewers and -30% in the A25-54 demo. “The Kelly File” is down -17% in total viewers and -27% in the demo compared to the 9pmET hour last year and “Hannity” is down -30% and -23%, respectively, compared to the 10pmET hour last year.”

Since Fox went all in on Benghazi, their ratings have taken a hit. Younger viewers who were already turning off Fox in droves are completely uninterested in the conspiracy theory, and it appears that a sizable segment of the average Fox audience isn’t captivated by the effort to turn a convoluted fantasy into a legitimate news story.

The struggles at Fox News should be scaring the Republican Party because they are betting everything on Benghazi. If Fox News can’t get their hardcore Republican audience interested in the scandal, that doesn’t bode well for the Republican hopes that it will motivate GOP voters to the polls in November.

Benghazi was supposed to replace Obamacare as the new rallying cry for Republicans in 2014, but so far, the effort to profit off of the deaths of four Americans has not fired up the Republican base for November. Benghazi maybe the first fake scandal in Republican history to be hurting Fox News.

When even the oldest most Republican audience on television isn’t interested, Fox News has a real loser on their hands. The House Benghazi Select Committee isn’t fooling anyone. Even conservatives are turning off Fox News.

Too bad if you want to read it here. The article is the intellectual property of the author and is copyrighted to that author or possibly whoever they are contracted to write for. Their work on their blog deserves clicks and links from their blog to other blogs, which is what generates income to that author.

It is wrong to post whole entire articles without permission from the author and it is wrong to allow those articles to be posted in their entirety here without permission from the author.

And no, it is not enough to include a link at the bottom. Copying the entire article goes beyond fair use.

You won't see whole posts from Stonekettle Station here. Wonder why? Read this: http://www.stonekettle.com/p/sharing-reposting-and-linking-to.html

What a good thing there wasn't a good guy with a gun around to spray a barrage of covering fire before it was established that 56-year-old Tony E. Ward of Columbus is merely a clumsy moron and not a terrorist trying to start a war in the Columbus, Ind. Walmart.

Wiki says Columbus is currently ranked 11th in the US on the list of safest cities per population. But Mr. Tony E. Ward probably just moved there.

Derpitude: Open Carry Group in Texas sues because they can’t approach motorists while fully armed

Two weeks ago, Open Carry Tarrant County in Texas threatened legal action and now they’re following through by suing over an ordinance they feel is directed at their group after they have approached vehicles on the street with rifles strapped across their backs. You see, scaring the living shit out of someone is their winning strategy.

Their ‘look at me’ protest with vehicles is to hand out copies of the Constitution, because they must think the public has no idea where to get one of those.

...Let’s play out this scenario since obviously the brainless brigade has not. The driver of the vehicle is me. I have been brutally mugged in the past, that’s a fact. So, I’m naturally cautious of morons approaching me. Let’s say I’m in Texas, a stand your ground state, and have a gun with me, when one of these jerk-offs approaches my car with a loaded rifle. Do I ‘Stand My Ground’? Because car jacking is an actual thing.

Never mind all that fact-y stuff.

The complaint states, “Open Carry Tarrant County conducts multiple walks a week throughout Tarrant County, particularly on weekends when they can interact with large numbers of people and exercise their First Amendment right to share the United States Constitution. However, they have been told and reasonably fear citation and arrest because they have been told that they will be cited and arrested for these activities by police and city council members. This has caused a chilling effect on members of Open Carry’s willingness to participate as they had in the past, as no one wants to be harassed and threatened with time in jail for doing nothing more than handing out the United States Constitution to those who have stated that they wish to receive it.”

Again, the complaint states they fear harassment. Isn’t that adorbs? Their disdain for law enforcement has been well documented (by them), yet they’re complaining that while harassing commuters, they will be harassed.

Kory, Google: You reap what you sow.

    The complaint:

    2. Yes, of course. If you need something right now, whether it is diapers or formula or a necessity for someone else in the household and no one else available to do it, and you don't have a sitter, then yes you will go out and do what needs to be done. And for many people, Walmart might be the only available store.

Newborns, and really any child under age 4-5, belong with their nannies, not out shopping. That's what nannies are for so that Mom's can actually get their work, shopping and recreating/entertainment time done without having to worry about a squalling baby.

No babies in restaurants, no babies in stores, no babies in the theatre and no babies in movies. How hard is it folks just to leave it with the nanny or sitter?

How can anyone make this the fault of the mother shopping with her newborn? Lots of moms have to get formula, diapers, all sorts of things for the baby as well as food for the rest of the family and lots of moms don't have anyone with whom they can leave the baby while off on these chores. And I bet there were lots of other moms there with toddlers and young children doing their shopping. The blame, here, is squarely on the idiot who thought he needed to show off his manliness by wearing a loaded gun while strutting along the aisles of a store. He should have been charged with reckless endangerment at least.

Hillary Clinton will be sitting down with Fox News on June 17.

Greta Van Susteren and Bret Baier will do a joint interview with the former Secretary of State, whose memoir is coming out soon. TV Newser reported Thursday that the interview will last half an hour, and air on Baier's "Special Report" at 6 p.m. and Van Susteren's "On the Record" at 7 p.m.

I'd not been in a Walmart for at least a decade but had the dubious pleasure of shopping in one today and for fuck's sake, the People of Walmart are a real thing! I had to purchase a hose connector that all the other box stores were out of, but damn, I'm just going to use my Amazon Prime from now on and never, ever step foot in a WallieWorld again. It smells of desperation and sadness and really cheap awful stuff that people buy but don't really need.

Another responsible gun owner has a tragic accident that no one could have imagined. The gun owner is quick to point out that it's not his 6 year old nephew's fault . . . well it kind of is, but it's certainly not the drinking, coke snorting, laying down a loaded AK-47 at a family barbecue uncle's fault - that's for sure.

Low Pay, Poor Work Conditions, Crap Merchandise, Mistreated workers, food drives for co workers who can't afford food, and a mother pushing a newborn gets hit by a bullet. Guess it's a reflection on their customer service as well. Someone shoots me, I don't care what store it is, but I'm getting checked out by a doctor as well as my newborn. This woman refused treatment? What could possibly be on sale worth risking a possible infection?
