We set this time aside to honor the men and women who for generations have ensured our safety and our ability to spend a day like this in freedom and peace. They are more than just names on gravestones in national cemeteries and battlefields. They were someone’s child, sibling, spouse, parent, and friend. As President Reagan said, on Memorial Day we remember “those who were loved and who, in return, loved their countrymen enough to die for them.”
Thank you, God, for instilling the passion for freedom in these patriots. Thank you for equipping America with the resources to defend the liberty You have given us. (Did she just thank God for the Military Industrial Complex? You know, the people who donate millions of dollars to politicians so that they will keep starting wars that allow them to sell their murderous products to the government.)
Please remember our active veterans today as well as those who have fallen. Every American should feel outrage at any injustice done to our veterans seeking what was promised them when they volunteered to defend the homeland. They are owed the health care they have already paid for. Friends, be determined to right the wrongs our vets face today. (Ah, gotta twist that knife buried in President Obama's back, don't you nasty?)

She didn't come back from war and suffer the angst and sometimes post-traumatic hallucinations. She glorifies and romanticizes war, it's a figment in her imagination. The ugly and lonely truth that every veteran goes through during their active duty overseas comes with many times of doubt, confusion, depression, loneliness, and hopelessness, along with the pros and benefits. It's not all a glorious walk in the park. They may or may not see corpses, slaughter, limbs blown off, or watch their peers go into rapid trauma, who have experienced near death. The parts that are concealed over there, are not shown here. Yes, they are heroes, and brave and they sacrifice so much and for that they need our appreciation and should be the primary focus when they come back and Congress should have no problem being united and bi-partisan in providing any monies to help them adjust and get health treatments, restoration of medical facilities, and put every else off the table until the returned home ones get all the help they need.
Sarah Palin uses this day, Memorial Day, again, to bring honorable remembrance, and yet, in that same written sentiment, somewhere hiding, lurking, ready to pop out is her nasty vindictive jab. It was hiding, waiting to pounce and while she's giving a warm and emotional sentiment, she does a complete 180, and becomes a rabid dog making a political statement at their expense. Today isn't a day to hate, and seek revenge, it's a day to pay respect. Sarah can't do that........she uses the day to express and strike her narcissistic poison at the Commander-in-Chief.
Thank you, O God, that the world was saved from harm in the US presidential elections, in November, 2008.

This Country has a history of mistreating its veterans since the Revolutionary War. Once of the most egregious examples was the burning of the WWI vets from their encampment in Washington DC. They had been promised a bonus and marched on Washington to get it. President Hoover, a Republican, ordered General MacArthur, another Republican to burn them out. MacArthur complied.

Both of Sarah Palin's sons are undocumented and she makes up outlandish stories and lies about them.
Chuck Heath, Sr, Chuch Heath, Jr and Todd Palin were not in the military. Sarah makes it look like Track is merely another fraud and his so called service is just another Palin hoax. A good mother would clear things up for her sons, if she could prove Track did go to Iraq or Afghanistan to serve his country in some capacity.
To me, Sarah Palin uses the military for her financial gain and her mythology about being a politician. That is an ongoing crime that needs to be investigated.

DeleteBefore the military came down on the troops, and posting to social media, soldiers were taking pictures of their beer parties in remote parts of Afghanistan. The Army furnished the beer and boy did they party. We saw all kinds of documentation of what they did when out on these patrols. Drinking beer and playing with fire. We knew Deryk Schessinger and his company. He got yanked out and went dark after he posted his Afghan pictures. But his friends went on and showed their party lives after he left. Smoking that great Afghan weed was fun and his friends had quiet a photo album. The marijuana plants were gigantic and what red blooded American boy wouldn't have a pipe and light up? You could almost get high from the photos and the excitement they protrayed.
You betcha, if Track was anyplace out of country in the military there are more photos of him than Carter has liver pills. Sarah would have all the nice ones where it looks like he would be serving his country. Most mothers are very proud of their sons and daughters and glad to show and tell. Why not Sarah? ReplyDeleteWhen we gather with our family and friends to remember the those who have served in the U.S military there are a few politicians who should be remembered as well. Last February Senator Bernie Sanders (I) Vermont, Chairman of the Senate Committee on Veteran’s Affairs introduced a bill that would provide $21 Billion dollars in benefits to veterans. The Comprehensive Veterans Health and Benefits and Military Retirement Pay Restoration Act of 2014 (S-1982) was supported by every major veteran’s organization. The bill was blocked 56-41 with all but two Republicans voting against it. S-1982 would have provided much needed funding for medical care, jobs training, and education for veterans. The major reason Republicans cited for blocking the bill was because they did not want to add to the deficit. That seems odd, as most of the the 21 billion dollars to fund the bill came from money unspent from Afghanistan and Iraq troop withdrawal.

ReplyDeleteThe Vietnam Vets of Rolling Thunder ride away from my neighborhood at the end of another Memorial Day weekend, It seems like a good time to check up on that famous Rolling Thunder rider Sarah Palin. Three years ago she parked that ridiculous Palin bus next to the Lincoln Memorial, then showed up in the Pentagon parking lot on the back of a motorcycle sporting a form-fitting black leather jacket. She and Todd jumped to the head of the line. A line of thousands of Vietnam vets who come here every year to ride across Memorial Bridge for one purpose only: to make sure the sacrifices of Vietnam vets are never forgotten. Palin had not informed Rolling Thunder organizers she was coming, and they were rightfully infuriated that she politicized their sacred event as she strutted around the Pentagon parking lot. Her "remarks" indicated an utter lack of knowledge of Vietnam, the veterans of that war, and the Vietnam Memorial. It was the lowest behavior I have ever seen from anyone in public life.
And so we now ask, what has this waste of human flesh DONE for Vietnam veterans, their families, or Rolling Thunder since that day three years ago when she used them to get attention for herself? Oh right, she has done NOTHING for them. Of course.
An idiot, as a veteran called her on her most recent visit to our fair capital? Of course. Also uneducated, vicious, hate-filled, insecure,dishonest, unbalanced, and supremely selfish.
Thank goodness she stays away from here on Memorial Day these days. She has no business here in any capacity.

DeleteFor some reason Todd married Sarah, even when she was pregnant with another man's child. Todd had lots of girlfriends but somehow Sarah roped him in while knocked up. Perhaps he didn't know until Track was born that he wasn't his kid. Todd's not great at math.
I tried squinting my eyes and looking through a fuzzy filter and I still could not see a smidgid of Todd Palin in the picture of Track. He looks like a Menard even when you smear Vaseline over the images.

ReplyDeleteSo what did Sarah and family do, specifically, for the veterans this weekend? Clean weeds from gravesites, put flags and flowers on vet's graves? Visit monuments? Visit VA Hospitals? We always do at least the first three as a family, locally before the bbq.

Our courageous First Lady, Michelle Obama, is taking on school meals. That will get the pop-sickle bribe mother and Nancy off their lazy butts. Sarah Palin needs her back up, she will certainly want all the support she can get to help the food corporations and marketers. I know who showed respect to those who gave their all as well as those still serving this Memorial Day, and it wasn't traitor Palin.
