A federal judge has upheld the gun-control law in the District of Columbia, which bans assault weapons and large-capacity magazines while imposing registration requirements for handguns and long guns.
In a ruling Thursday, U.S. District Judge James Boasberg said the city seeks to combat gun violence and promote public safety and that the current law does so in a constitutionally permissible manner.
You know just yesterday I made the statement that I did not think that anybody would pass any serious gun control legislation.
Let me just say that I have never enjoyed eating crow quite so much.
Now hopefully this will lead to even more common sense gun control legislation.
And just in time for the low hanging fruit to march on D.C. to try to get the President and the house and senate leaders kicked out of government and try to install Cruz (a Canadian) Allen West (a radio talk show host) Steve King (a racist nut) Ben Carson (ex-surgeon and political idiot) because they don't understand what VOTING is.
ReplyDeleteDoes this mean the Operation American Spring yahoos will be arrested if they bring their big guns to DC today? I hope so! Glad to see this law upheld.
ReplyDeleteOkay, now comes the moment where Sarah, or Mike Huckabee or Ted Cruz calls for the impeachment of this "activist judge" who is obviously a closeted fascist, socialist commie, who is trying to keep our citizens under the thumb of the government by not allowing them to be armed to the teeth.
ReplyDelete'A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed.'
ReplyDeleteIt's there, right there for all to see in the 2nd amendment that they constantly crow about.
'well regulate miltia...'
Were those ass clowns at the bundy rance part of a well regulate militia?
A perfect example of a well regulated milita is the National Guard.
I can't stand stupid fucks, especially stupid fucks with guns.
They are two separate parts.
DeleteAs a well regulated militia is necessary to the security of a free state....
the right of people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed....
Shall not be infringed.
infringe:
-act so as to limit or undermine (something); encroach on.
- to wrongly limit or restrict (something, such as another person's rights).
I'll keep my rights, you can give up yours at your will if you like.

DeleteYou seem to want to forget that the Supreme Court, in the ruling stipulating the 2nd does defend the individual's right to keep and bear arms, also said that right is NOT unlimited and does NOT prohibit all regulation of either firearms or similar devices.
No one is trying to take your guns, little boy. We just want some intelligence applied to who CAN own them.
Those of us with a little common sense see the murders and crap all over this country and would prefer to have the (known) wackos and crazies and the criminals banned from their ownership.
Get this through that thick skull: Over 80% of the population WANTS the tightening of ownership background checks and better ones, as well. And if you aren't a wacko or one of the other persons described as questionable in their background, you have nothing to worry about.
As the national guard is the army - under the control of the government - not the people, your arguement doesn't stand up, at all. What part of 'the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed' do you not get? . Ohhhh.... you must be one of those liberals that would rather have the perception of safety at the expense of freedom. Maybe you are one of those stupid fucks?
ReplyDeleteIt is so easy for clowns like you to skip right over the phrase "well regulated", It's there even if you refuse to see or comprehend it.

DeleteA WELL REGULATED militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed. Well regulated. Who is doing the regulating? What does the regulating entail. A bunch of wanna-bes running around in camo, pointing guns at Federal agents, does not seem to be a well regulated militia. The National Guard primarily falls under the control of the state, which is why they get called out by the governor for disasters in that state. And it can be federalized. But delving into the US Code it can be seen that the NG is also considered the militia for that state. This is why the symbol of the Guard is the Minute Man. And anyway what does it matter if anyone has as many assault weapons as they want. Won't the government just take them out with their drones?
DeleteHave you lost any freedom ?
DeleteI suspect you simply are afraid, of what I realy can't say.
And calling me someone liberal is not an insult, but I don't think you can comprehend that either.
Stupid fuck.
Why aren't you in DC arresting the president?
DeleteMommy needed the car?
Awwww did all you liberals get your panties in a bunch?
DeleteThey only have those laws in DC because all the idiots that are refusing to help control gun violence throuhout the US are assembled there in what we still call 'Congress'... They KNOW they would be targets BIG TIME if they were not protected by that law.
ReplyDelete(I understand that sometimes they do go home, and could be targets there, but then they are just single targets, not a mass of hundreds of a$$holes...)
Now this is something worth noting. Seems Sister Sarry has some kindred spirits in those duck call boys.

I wondered when this would come up. Gun rights people are so jumpy about any perceived threat to their ownership. Except in Washington DC where a largely black city has restricted gun laws.
ReplyDeleteGood to hear! Promoting Public Safety counts as something in this judge's eyes.
