President Obama on Monday honored all the Americans who have given their lives for their country, from the Civil War of a century-and-a-half ago to the Afghanistan war that is wrapping up this year. In Memorial Day remarks delivered a day after a surprise visit to Afghanistan, Obama said the U.S. troops there “are coming home” from the conflict that began a month after the attacks of Sept. 11, 2001. “By the end of this year, our war in Afghanistan will finally come to an end,” Obama said during the annual Memorial Day ceremony at Arlington National Cemetery. During his speech, Obama praised veterans from all the nation’s wars. “Everything that we hold precious in this country was made possible by Americans who gave their all,” Obama said.
Though there is much to criticize, the President took no cheap political shots.
Because it would be disrespectful to their memories to do so, and a REAL leader recognizes that.
And of course last night President Obama went to honor the troops still with us and tell them that he is going to get them out of harm's way as soon as possible.
But where's his,flight suit? Where's his rifle? Where's his chest pounding?

I admire and respect our wonderful President Obama and First Lady Michelle. Many times he's had his hands tied by the obstructionist GOP, but he still continues to do the best he can and prove himself a real leader of all the people.

Veterans Groups Slam Unpatriotic GOP Senator for Questioning Their Priorities

In the letter dated May 23 and posted on the Senator’s web site, the ranking member of the Senate Committee on Veterans Affairs scolds several of the VSOs for not being critical enough of Veterans Affairs Secretary Eric Shinseki.

In looking at those pictures, you get the sense that he is really connecting with those soldiers, not just posing for photo ops.
DeleteI love how they greet him like a rock star and that he made sure to shake the hand of every soldier who came to see him. The man's a class act, all the way.
I so respect, and truly like, President Obama. Just watch, the man is going to go down as one of our best POTUS in spite of the Republicans giving him such a difficult time since the day he was elected.
