Ron Reagan's new FFRF advertisement.

Apparently this ad will be run on Comedy Central during the Daily Show and Colbert Show on May 22nd.

It is the video version of a radio ad that started playing back in November of last year.

Here is an interesting quote from Reagan that I had never heard before:

Famously asked by The New York Times three weeks after President Reagan died whether he’d like to be president, Ron replied: “I’m unelectable. I’m an atheist. As well all know, that I something people won’t accept.”

Hopefully with more ads like this, and more people coming out as Atheists, the religious litmus test for political office will no longer be relevant for much longer.

Personally I can hardly wait.

Another poster started their comment with....I "think" I am still a Christian... Rightfully so. As a born and raised Southern Baptist, the more I learned about other religions the more I learned to look at what they had in common instead of how they acknowledged their commonality (via their rituals). The two questions that took me over the edge, however, in questioning everything about religion was....

How did God see before he created light? How did he know when the days started and ended before he created the sun on the fourth day?

The image that comes to mind is Zak Galifianakis with a flash light stumbling around in the dark trying to organize stuff.

    Isn't that a funny thought?

That ought to make Palin's head explode! What's she gonna do, go after the son of her political messiah? Not if she's smart (but then again, look who we're talking about...)

Wonderful ad. I've always admired Ron for holding to his beliefs. It can't have been easy, growing up surrounded by the GOP. (His father, President Reagan, was originally a Democrat, however.)

I suspect that over the years, quite a few Presidents, Senators and Reps, plus elected state officials were not the "believers" they claimed to be.

I've always like our former president's son. He's not like his Dad (at least, what we truthfully know of him!) in that he is straight forward and does not believe in god!

Many Americans have a difficult time w/that! They are mainly the ones on the right that say they are Christians, following the teachings of the Bible - which is proven bull pucky! Look at Sarah Palin, Ted Cruz, Boehner, McCain, etc.

They could care less about helping others throughout our nation. I find them to be more heathens than religious!

Huge fan of Ron's over the years. His Parents and Siblings? Not so much. Imagine, if you will, First Lady Obama inviting Psychics to the White House for political "advise", All heck would break loose! It's amazing Ron was raised by the same people and turned out so damn smart and honest.

Ron Regan could never measure up to his father....All those Regal children were messed up real bad....bad gene-pool from their Mom?...
While the Regans were in the White House, those kids did most everything to take their parents down....
All their children were terrible.....trying anything to get famous on the tails of their parents.....Misfits...
