Former Marine who was harassed by Open Carry activists forced to change his phone number after it is revealed in video posted on YouTube.

I am sure that most of you remember the video of Marine veteran James Henry being followed back to his car by Open Carry demonstrators after he started filming them.

Well this is what happened afterward:

After the confrontation, the activist posted a video to YouTube of Henry returning to his SUV, which had his company name and phone number printed on the side. Soon after that, he started receiving harassing phone calls.

“One said you’re going to wish you had a gun boy when I fill you with holes,” he said.

Open Carry Tarrant County spokesperson Kory Watkins, however, insisted to KDFW that the group had filmed Henry for their own protection. He said that women and children were participating in the firearms rally, and the group felt threatened.

But in the end, it was Henry who was forced to change his phone number. He has also started carrying his pistol for protection.

Gee, you know these Open Carry guys might actually succeed in their goal of increasing the number of Americans who are carrying weapons around in public.  Of course the reason will be to protect ourselves from lunatics like them.

I am surprised that nobody has been shot yet, but I think it is only a matter of time before there is an exchange of gunfire. And when that happens this will move from simply being an annoyance, to a serious public safety concern.

Good article on the NRA trying to tone down the Texas Open Carry bunch: http://www.motherjones.com/politics/2014/06/nra-open-carry-guns-backlash-texas

Love the item on the New Black Panthers!

I think we know who the bad guys with guns are.
Many years ago, I wrote a letter to the paper when our state was debating concealed carry. I made the statement that while I know some people do have a reason to carry a gun, I didn't understand why the average person felt they needed one. I wondered why these people were so afraid that they needed a gun. I go all over day and night and never once felt I needed a gun because I wasn't a fearful person.
I learned later that the paper didn't print any of the mail they got in response to my letter because it was threatening. I also found a short article in a online gunfucker magazine where they quoted me. The author of the story and responders didn't answer my question but every one threatened to find me and show me what I had to be afraid of. These people are all fucking nuts.

    1. A part of me wants the veterans to show up, facially disguised, jerk the pants down on these little boy cowards, and give them a probe with their own weapons. I’m that angry.

Utterly disgusting.. http://bobcesca.thedailybanter.com/blog-archives/2014/06/disgusting-and-disrespectful-indeed.html. The Westboro Gun and Ammo Club need to get the treatment!

This guy actually served in the military, supposedly something that these faux-patriot types respect, yet they harass him and threaten him with death.

This GOPTea Party fringe doesn't have a united doctrine; they are all over the place emotionally as well as regarding an agenda. They prattle on about this vague notion of "our freedoms" but seem to not understand what they are.

From the NRA's point of view this is all "hijinx".

As a result of these hijinx, two popular fast food outlets have recently requested patrons to keep guns off the premises (more information can be found here and here).

Where is Sarah? He's a vet, why isn't she defending him? She's all about freedoms isn't she?. Oh yeah, that's right, she doesn't give a shit. It's all just talking points for her. These guys have a bully mentality when carrying their guns and rifles. They think they can intimidate anyone. If anything should happen where an innocent person gets shot either by accident or by intent I hope to God they get and the state get sued for their stupid, stupid law.

  7. So a bunch of guys with guns felt threatened by an unarmed man.

That says something about these guys. I am not clear what.

He wasn't unarmed. He had a big, scary video camera that would suck their souls out of their bodies. As I am every time I see these yahoos running around with their guns, whether in Texas or Nevada, I wonder how many ever served in the military and came under fire?

As if they didn't do enough to get their point across. What a bunch of insecure ninnies, ganging up on a Veteran then making his private information public. Gee, I hear there's these real savvy computer guys who can find out and publish lists and lists of people's names and phone numbers, even the serial numbers on their extenders!
One of these days, they're going to pick on the wrong person, It's hard to tell a regular enlisted from a swat or special ops veteran when they're in their civilian clothes, just sayin.

What a great idea! We should start a fund to hire a saavy tech person. Uncle G could be the treasurer.

  9. I hope they keep it up and expand to other states.

Probably the only way we'll get effective firearm and ammo regulation laws passed.

I've noticed that almost none of these long gun toting demonstrators know how to carry a rifle with a sling. They drape them over their necks like a necklace or across their back just for show. If they ever had to deploy their weapons quickly they wouldn't stand a chance. These idiots have obviously had no military or even proper civilian training in how to deploy their weapons from a sling carry.
