Hand gun found in toy aisle at Target. Really just a matter of time wasn't it? Update!

Open Carry advocates buying cookies at Target.
Courtesy of WMBF News:

A real gun was found in the toy aisle of Target on Seaboard Street. The police report states a loss prevention worker stumbled upon the gun Friday night.

The gun was in plain view on top of a superhero Playskool toy box when the worker found it; he thought it was a toy. He realized it was real after seeing it was loaded with live ammo.

The fact that it was found in an aisle geared toward children makes some shoppers feel this was no accident.

"I don't think someone would accidentally drop off a gun. I think he purposely left it there for a child to pick up and think, 'Oh it's a toy gun,' and accidentally point it at somebody and it goes off," says Kennedy McClain.

Yeah or maybe it was just some dumbshit who treats real guns as if they are toys and carelessly left it behind after removing it to get to the phone in his pocket.

After all if you have guys wandering up and down the aisles staggering under the weight of all their uber manly guns and rifles, eventually some of them are bound to get left behind.

After all this is the new normal.

That is, unless we start doing something to change it.

Update: Apparently when it comes to guns and accidents, Target is the place to be.

This from NBCDFW:

An employee at a North Texas Target accidentally shot himself in the hand with a gun dropped by a customer on Wednesday afternoon, police say.

Hurst Police Assistant Chief Steve Niekamp said a shopper with a concealed handgun license brought the .22 caliber revolver into the store at 1400 Precinct Line Road. As he was leaving, the small gun fell out of his pocket without his knowledge.

A store employee who found the gun thought it was a lighter and tested the trigger, shooting himself in the hand, Niekamp said.

I am guessing that working at Target does not require an IQ test of any kind.

Well at least in both of these instances there were no children injured.

This time.

What's also really pathetic is I've read enough comments elsewhere about the gun found at Target.

Ammosexuals are blaming the Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America for planting the gun at Target to further their cause.

Just when I think the ammosexuals won't sink to a new low, they do. Now enough of them are off on some blame Moms Demand Action for doing it conspiracy theory rather than facing up to the fact that not all gun owners are responsible and some gun owner or carrier did leave a loaded gun in the toy section of a Target.

The Ammosexuals are barking up the wrong tree on this one. NBC news just showed a picture of the gun owner who left the gun in the child's dept. It definitely wasn't "planted".

Honestly 4:41 it does sound like a planted gun. These guys are walking around with long guns, not hand guns. Not saying it is 'Mom's demand action', but it doesn't really add up. It could easily have been an armed security guard or cop who accidentally left it there too. Could be the loss prevention worker is lying too. Expand your minds for the truth, not for your agendas.

Is the guy in the picture wearing an Obama t-shirt? I'm confused.

I just found out, it's legal to carry rifles and shotguns (long guns) into Minnesota's Target stores. Oh joy. I think it's time to rethink shopping at local Target stores.

If i saw anyone walking around in a Target store or any store for that matter i would leave and let it be known to the management the reason i was leaving and if i have to leave a cart of items in an aisle or at a register so be it. This is the way to stop the stupid because money talks, note those idiots in the photo are buying cookies and that's it let's face it who spends the most money at Target men with guns or women with children? it's an easy choice for Target to make when their profits take a dive. And why is it always men? where are the women? all the photos i have seen at these demonstrations are always of men.Hmm..

I'm hoping that the novelty of carrying long guns into Targets etc. wears off fast!

Jon Stewart Shows How Incredibly Stupid 'Open Carry' Is

It's what Jon Stewart calls "Gunfight at the Golden Corral" as open-carry gun advocates try to enter popular restaurants while armed with large weapons.

The NRA briefly condemned the practice as "weird" and "scary" before reversing course and supporting it.

But as Stewart pointed out on Thursday's "Daily Show," the NRA also supports "stand your ground" laws which allow people to use deadly force when they feel threatened.

When might they feel threatened? Perhaps when being faced with a group of people armed to the teeth entering a popular restaurant.

"It's a perpetual violence machine!" Stewart declares.

    2. Yes, the OCT demonstrations get noticed and are sometimes over the top. Now, did you condemn the demonstrations for black or gay civil rights? This is no difference, it is a fight for civil rights.

  11. Please call Target Guest Relations at 612-696-3400(option #4) and register your objections about Target allowing weapons to be carried in their stores. They can enact a "no weapons" policy in all of their stores. I have already let them know will no longer shop at Target until they announce, and enforce, a "no guns" policy.

Cookies or no fucking cookies, these ass clowns will have to reckon--that is, if they posses the mental capacity to do so--with the prospect that some "superhero" will take them out not realizing that they are the "good guys." They will get what they most certainly deserve for their stupidity in the fashion of a proverbial "circular firing squad."

People are assuming that it was an adult who left the gun in the toy department, but what if it was an actual child? A lot of these gun rights people like arming their children as well, and you know kids being short on attention--they just might have left their own gun behind while looking at the latest toys.

Unfortunately, I HAVE SEEN lighters in the shape of a gun. That employee is lucky that he or she did not look into the barrel...

Also: they are looking for a BLACK guy who had been seen 'suspiciously wandering' the toy aisles...

Insane video of shootout with man armed with rifle, bombs trying to takeover Georgia courthouse

Authorities shot and killed a sovereign citizen Friday morning outside a Georgia courthouse after he brought weapons and explosives in an attempt to take over the building.

Investigators said Dennis Marx arrived at the Forsyth County Administration Building with an assault rifle, bulletproof vest, smoke grenades, and a gas mask.

Marx also brought water and other supplies, ammunition, zip-tie restraints, and buckets of homemade explosives to the courthouse, said Sheriff Duane Piper.

“He came here with the purpose of occupying the courthouse,” Piper said.

He deployed stop sticks at the courthouse entrance to prevent other vehicles from driving closer and opened fire from his vehicle.

  18. Allowing guns in stores is going to make Black Friday and the other Christmas busy shopping days really interesting. I think that I will stay home unless this madness is stopped.

I was sitting in one of those public spaces where you can't escape the crazy channel. People were calling in, applauding the choice of "oreo cookies" because they represent President Obama, black on the outside, white on the inside. Ahem, Really? They don't see a bunch of stupid men open carrying in a store with unarmed men, women, children and employess. The gun fetishists are so paranoid of getting caught, they're leaving loaded weapons within children's reach, and the asshats calling in are guffawing and giggling about President Obama's Race? And Rush is laughing along, making fun of unarmed people who are too stoopid to buy guns and open carry, as mandated by the constitution. Mandated? There's a law that we all need guns?
For once, I felt comfortable in the oral surgeon's chair, hell I almost asked for no anesthesia!

That second item, well it kind of reflects the type of people Target is hiring. Did he really NEED to check if it was real inside the store? Shopping is one of my favorite things to do, but if this keeps up, I'll go through withdrawl and start shopping on the net.

  20. So from the picture shown are we to believe that guys and a girl carrying rifles that range in price from $700 to probably around $1500 (conservatively) decided to drop off a High Point pistol that can easily be had for under $200. The author must not know much about guns and the "gun culture" to think that these guys would be dropping off High Point pistols just for fun. Most AR and AK guys are gun snobs and would rather use a pointed stick than to use a junk gun. I know because I am one of those snobs.

  21. As for the gun left in the toy section story, maybe the author of this "article" could have actually spent the time to read up on the story instead of just using the story as a shallow base to build the anti-gun propaganda upon. Instead of tossing blame on the open carry guys (which is more a political statement than for self-defense) the author could place it back where it belongs, on Chavonne Tere Moore, the last known owner of the gun and the unidentified Black male who actually left the firearm in Target.

This gun was NOT left behind by accident, as some have claimed. I read the original reports, and the target employee who found it said it was placed "in a toy box." That is NOT accidental. The picture of the last gun owner (she could have sold it since then) is not the person who left it in the store. The suspicious person that police want to question is a man who was acting strangely in that aisle just before the gun was found. There is a lot of misinformation in these comments. It was definitely planted, since it was placed in a toy box. Someone was deliberately trying to get people hurt, but it remains to be seen if there are any other motives for this deliberate action of planting a firearm the toy aisle.

  23. It appears that there is no reason to believe that it was not "placed" at the scene. It also seem obvious that the gun is not owned by any person that considers themselves gun knowledgeable. So, there seem to be only 2 alternatives, one is that someone in the anti-gun hate groups left the gun or someone who wants to "terrorize" for the fun of the crime.
