I am not sure how it happened but somehow Pat Robertson actually figured out that George Bush lied about the Iraq War.

"I can't believe he lied to us."
Courtesy of Crooks and Liars:

Televangelist Pat Robertson on Monday blasted former President George W. Bush for selling Americans a "bill of goods" before the Iraq invasion, which led to the violence that is currently sweeping across the country.

During his Monday broadcast, a viewer asked Robertson if there was a solution to the ongoing violence caused by an al Qaeda splinter group, ISIS, threatening to take over Iraq.

"Right now, what we did -- and it was a great mistake to go in there," Robertson explained, pointing out that Saddam Hussein's "bomb maker" had said that the then-dictator "doesn't know how to make an atomic bomb."

"And so to sell the American people on weapons of mass destruction, he had WMD and was getting [concentrated uranium] yellowcake out of Africa and all of that, it was a lot of nonsense," the TV preacher said. "We were sold a bill of goods, we should never have gone into that country!"

"As bad as Saddam Hussein was, he held those warring factions in check, and he contained those radical Islamists," he continued. "Fix it, no? It's too late to fix it. It's unfixable. Those simmering animosities have been there for centuries."

Holy crap!  If that is not a sign of the Apocalypse I don't know what is.

However if Robertson wants to lay the blame where it really belongs he might want to start with God. Because THAT is who George Bush claimed told him to invade Iraq:

A 2005 story in The Guardian pulls back the curtain and reveals the sniveling little man behind Bush’s Great and Powerful OZ persona: God. The story quotes Nabil Shaath, the Palestinian Foreign Minister at the time, detailing a meeting with Bush at a Israeli-Palestinian summit in Egypt after the start of the Iraq invasion:

“President Bush said to all of us: ‘I am driven with a mission from God’. God would tell me, ‘George go and fight these terrorists in Afghanistan’. And I did. And then God would tell me ‘George, go and end the tyranny in Iraq’. And I did.”

Mr. Bush went on: “And now, again, I feel God’s words coming to me, ‘Go get the Palestinians their state and get the Israelis their security, and get peace in the Middle East’. And, by God, I’m gonna do it.”

So yes Pat Robertson, you old fossil, George Bush lied to get us into a war. However the real problem is that he claims he was listening to the voices in his head which he believed were coming from God.

And people who make claims like that, should NEVER be taken seriously.

Right Televangelist Pat Robertson?

Holy smoke and mirrors! My head spins when I pay attention to these idiots. I can assure you Pat Robertson did not come forward with this as we were invading Iraq and like you, I am wondering what is up with him. The snake oil people like Robertson and Palin, you have to remember, will only do what benefits them. They are entirely of the opinion that they are “just human and deeply flawed” but God in heaven has and will forgive them if they accept Jesus. WTF?????? So, as long as their greedy and imperious ways get them where they wish to be they will continue down their sinful path. Who knows, maybe Robertson is sensing the end of his life and he is attempting to speak the truth while hedging his bets he will be welcomed at the early gates. Like I said, they make me friggin’ crazy.

  2. He has moments of clarity, but I think he mostly knows he's spent a lifetime lying and collecting ill-gotten cash from rubes, and now he wants to square some debts before the Grim Reaper calls. I hope the Grim Reaper is harsh. I hate these people.

You know what, Darlene? I was not raised to hate anyone, but when this all came down I could see what was behind it and knew how many innocent lives were going to be lost, whether through death or permanent mental/physical disability. For WHAT? I want to pinch his face off, as well as Queen Heifer for fanning the flames to this day while licking her lips.

Those voices in his head were drug induced. He only said they were God to impress the dominionists. I am totally dumbfounded how all an scammer needs to say is that God told him to do something and the sheeple all bow their heads and bleat in accordance and believe every word that comes after that.

Olivia, in 2002, when he was coming under criticism, Dubya claimed we andand partner countries had thwarted an Al-Qaeda plot to fly a hijacked airplane into the tallest building in Los Angeles. I looked at my husband and said, "that is utter CRAP." Anything to get us into war.....and he did.

God did NOT tell Dubya to go to war! Who does he think he is, King David? We all know why he got us into that war. I'm telling you, these people are SO stuck in the Old Testament and want to take us right back there ASAP. I am SO darn sick of it, while Dubya paints as he slaps himself on the back.

I'm not one to post long texts from other sites as some do here, but this is how sick these types are. Cut and paste on your own:

  11. Saddam held the different factions together just as Tito did in Yugoslavia. When Tito died, it all fell apart and thousands were killed when rivals fought for supremacy. Now, Iraq.

  12. I think this is another example of conservatives realizing years later something that liberals saw pretty quickly.
