A northern Indiana man has pleaded guilty to criminal charges after killing his fiancee’s 3-year-old son while they were playing a “gun game” in their Michigan City home.
Authorities said Zachariah Grisham, 24, frequently played a game in which he would point a real gun at the boy while child would point an imaginary gun back.
Grisham shot the boy in the head in September 2013. He told police he forgot his gun was loaded and pulled the trigger.
Grisham pleaded guilty Thursday to a felony charge of child neglect. He was originally charged with both child neglect and reckless homicide.
Authorities said the shooting wasn’t intentional.
"Wasn't intentional." Well that's good to know.
However if you do not mean to shoot somebody intentionally then why in the fuck would you pint a gun at them?
And if you are dealing with a child, then why is there a gun present at all?
Oh I forgot, it's our second amendment right.
I guess his second amendment rights trumped the toddler's right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.
ReplyDelete"felony charge of child neglect"
DeleteThe kid was only neglected, the dead part got left out of the plea deal.
For the crime of not knowing whether or not his gun was loaded, he should lose permission to own or carry a gun for a good long while.
ReplyDeleteFor playing a shooting game, with or without a loaded gun, with an impressionable child, he should lose the right to be around children until he, himself, can prove that he's grown up.
Well, according to the article, he knew the gun was loaded, but had forgotten about it when he pulled the trigger.
DeleteFor playing with a child with a loaded gun he should lose the right to be around children and guns for the rest of his life, IMO.
Well too bad he didn't point it at his OWN head and not the poor kid...
ReplyDeleteI do have a theory about these types of "accidents" it goes along with the nature shows? How the Lion will kill his new mate's offspring b/c its not his? Ya, that makes more sense that he "forgot".
He should be put in jail for ever or get the death penalty since he "played " these "games" before!
good point, how often do little kids lose their lives to a step dad or a boyfriend? pretty darn often compared to their bio dad. single moms should never ever leave their child in a sex partners care, not are all are bad, but why take the chance?
DeleteThat little boy is so precious. Bristol will go bonkers! She loves cute little boys that look like that.
ReplyDeleteYou mean "used to...."
DeleteReally 2:58? Think we'll hear from Miss Sinsitiv? Give me a break
DeleteWhat is wrong with you? The child is dead!
DeleteDid you miss the entire point of the article? It is not about adorable little children.
It is about adorable little children who are dead! Dead, you fucking, uncaring moron.
Children who are dead because of the same morons with guns that Bristol and her mother idolize.
God, you are disgusting. Run out and buy a gun to celebrate the death of this child. That is what Palin did to celebrate the slaughter of the Newtown innocents.

Who mentioned that fat whore? Does junkie play these kinds of "games" with Tripp? Is that what your trying to tell us???
Otherwise WHY bring up barstool?
2:58 she likes guns and her second amendment rights more...that's what mommy dearest taught her.
DeleteThe picture does look like one that a parent would take of their child and think it is the cutest bug. I could agree if the child didn't have a gun. The whole jump on the bandwagon and pose with guns phase is grossing me out. I found some gun photo etiquette on a Three Percenter facebook. I have not found anyone mentioning anything about playing and posing guns with children. Adults playing guns with children also grosses me out. I don't care for what is happening in our society.

"She loves little boys who look like that". Are you implying that Bristol doesn't love little boys who Don't
Deletelook like that? BTW how is it that you 'know' what Bristol loves?
Nancy French tells the world what Bristol loves and who Nancy wants others to think about Bristol.

F*** everyone of you people that man and that baby's mother loved him more than anything in this world none of you know the real story or the facts so before you run your dick beaters get the facts straight and stop running your mouth
Delete5:42 PM Fuck you and him.
DeleteSounds as if the mom should have drop-kicked this a** as soon as she found out about this stupid "game".
ReplyDeleteWhy isn't this creep being prosecuted for murder 1???
All I can say is, Jesus H Christ. The little guy is better off if this is the caliber of BF's the mother has. RIP

Just grow up already. Sounds like you need a life. And Im not even a bot saying that.
Deletehillary might be meeting up with sister karma again if she keeps this shit up...
DeleteAt the very least, this was a perfect example of "reckless homicide." So he didn't mean to kill the child, then why did he point a loaded gun at the child. And what sane adult would ever point a gun, loaded or not, at a three year-old child? I hope there are some people in Michigan City, Indiana, who are upset about how the homicide charge was dropped. This guy needs to spend years in prison thinking about what he did.
ReplyDeleteBeaglemom
I'm with all those who feel this was murder, a way to get rid of a kid who was not his and to have the mother to himself. What better way to keep her in line? How could she allow such a "game" anyway? Poor, poor child :( Stupid, idiot "man"!
ReplyDeleteI agree. Using a real gun to play I am going to shoot you is a sick and twisted game. Young children playing di not have the mental development to comprehend death or that killing means more than being out of sight.
DeleteThree years old! I am thinking the murderer deserves what he gave. Let's play his game in a prison yard, he uses his finger, then uh oh we forgot the gun was loaded!
The mom likely needs to be charged too for allowing this real man deathly game.
Damn, shopping for beach and pool toys at Target I was cautious lest some mother fucker leave a gun on a shelf.
O/T Now THIS is a whole other kind of response:
ReplyDeleteHillary Clinton: Benghazi Backlash ‘More of a Reason’ to Run in 2016
Republicans launched their latest effort at creating a Benghazi scandal with the intention of scaring Hillary Clinton out of running for president, but Clinton said the political attacks are motivating her to run.
In her interview with ABC’s Diane Sawyer, former Sec. of State Clinton said, “Actually, it’s more of a reason to run, because I do not believe our great country should be playing minor league ball. We ought to be in the majors. I view this as really apart from — even a diversion from — the hard work that the Congress should be doing about the problems facing our country and the world.”

If that mother KNEW that he played these kinds of games with a toddler, then she is EQUALLY responsible for this horrific event. Looking at the picture of that adorable little boy who left his life with his head demolished, by someone who is trusted, just breaks my heart and makes me so fucking angry at the same time. And that he won't pay a price for it? WTF???
ReplyDeleteWow, Gryphen, did you see this?
ReplyDeleteDespite Vicious Obstruction, President Obama Has Accomplished Nearly 100 Percent of His Domestic Agenda
...For the first time in history — yes, all of history — an American president has accomplished nearly 100 percent of his domestic agenda. And, as we here well know, he’s done it in spite of being saddled with the single worst, most obstructionist, most hateful, most Hell-bent-deranged body of legislators in history. Which we say speaks pretty well of Kenyan Muslim socialists everywhere.
The Right has done everything they can to cast Obama as, if not a hopelessly mediocre do-nothing whose appeal rests solely on his race, then at least an utter failure and the living embodiment of evil. They ask if it’s “too late” for him to “rescue his presidency.”
Apparently not.
Jonathan Chait of New York Magazine reports:

So sad. Why the defenseless always turn out to be the victim.
ReplyDeleteThere is a war on women. If women were equal in the workplace, women with children wouldn't be judged and trashed for HAVING JOBS.
ReplyDeleteSo fuck you liberal assholes because the hate comes from the left. Every time you judge a women with a job, you judge men by calling them inept at being a parent. Kids who see both parents work have healthy attitudes about work. Every wellknown women in the public eye who's been criticized for "abandonment" and they've all been in some way, all of them have healthy kids with good jobs or work habits.
I think the haters are just jealous or resentful.
Oh shut up Skanky
DeleteOh Sarah, are you trying to say that you have been unfairly criticized for being a lousy mother? Forgetaboutit! It's too late, the public has seen what sort of mother you are, for instance starting with your Wild Ride. Personally, I think that both Piper and Tri-G are better off in someone else's care rather than your care.
Deletesmh @4:04. Mom got her aarp card and stopped breast feeding? Is that why you're in such a pissy mood?
DeleteThis thread is about gun nuts and a war on children.
DeleteOne of the gun nuts spoke persons said for tea bags and Palin bags something about their constitutional rights to guns trumps dead children.
The war on this thread is on children.
Palin's fake pregnancy and the wild ride would be her war on children.
I have never known a liberal person who criticizes a woman who works, whether she has children or not. And I don't know a liberal who could ever be called a "hater." It seems to me that the whining about how women belong in the kitchen is coming from pseudo-christian fundamentalists and from the far right. Anon at 4:04 pm hasn't a clue what he or she is talking about.
DeleteBeaglemom
Jobs??? What job does Todd Palin work? When has Track Menard last worked a job? Willow and Bristol work??? What's that? Sarah Palin has taught them all how to QUIT.
DeleteBoth clintons famously dislike Barack Obama. No less than 3 books discuss this. The contents may be overly dramatic and reaching, but I have no doubt that the basic statement is true.
ReplyDeleteI think you posted on the wrong thread, I'm embarrassed for you!
DeleteBWAHAHAHAHA, 4:06 PM Hates the Clintons and Obamas so much that 'IT' can't remember which thread 'IT' is on.
DeleteThe shooter is 24 years old. He killed his girlfriend's 3 year old. This kind of thing seems to be a lifestyle. This is how they play and teach the child.
ReplyDeleteIf the entire culture where they live is the same then it is oops! too bad kid, didn't mean to do it. Personally, I would give him life or a max sentence. What about the girlfriend? What was she doing by allowing her child around the moron? I wouldn't let her off if she knew there was a gun around the house and anything like this went on.
http://www.wsbt.com/image/view/-/22940232/highRes/2/-/ekx5x7z/-/Lance-Wilson.jpg
I don't believe this was an accident at all. Modern man seems to be de-evolving into savages that kill children that are not their own.
ReplyDeleteZachariah Grisham probably thought if the shooting was deemed an accident he might get completely away with it. Grisham should at least be charged with 2nd degree murder. Why take Grisham's word for why he shot a 3 year old in the head?
Poor baby boy, may Lance Wilson rest in peace.
I am not buying. He must have been itching to know how it would feel like to actually pull the trigger. Oh that Poor baby..
ReplyDeleteJust another day in the "NRA States of America." Remember - guns don't kill - though I am still waiting for someone to inform us of what else guns do other than kill or threaten to kill.
ReplyDeleteThe only other thing guns do is fill the coffers of the weapons manufacturers. Period.
DeleteThe whole purpose of a gun is to kill. It is not a car, that takes people to and from work, like the gunloonz are always comparing it to.
DeleteThis is what happens when a Mom invites an irresponsible moron to cohabit with her and her toddler son, probably deluding herself that in addition to stud service for her the moron will provide some kind of male role model for her son. You can be sure this "negligent" shooter had at least a subconscious desire to eliminate his lover's offspring by another man.
ReplyDeleteThis could be Bristol and a trial hubby. Except they play with snow mobiles than guns.
DeleteAnother genius with a gun....
ReplyDeleteAnd are we sure he was "playing"? For all the good men who raise their female partners children as their own and as well as they possibly can, there are always a few like this immature, imbecilic reason for the death penalty who subconsciously want to be rid of the responsibility for someone else's child so that they can have the mother to "themselves" or have their own child with her.
In what universe is that NOT reckless homicide?
ReplyDeleteI hope this trial daddy ends up in jail and they lose the key. Yeah, he forgot the gun was loaded, but who in their right mind plays "games" with a grown man armed and an unarmed toddler? Rest In Peace, little one. My heart goes out to his family. Gun Culture is an oxymoron and this has got to stop soon.
ReplyDeleteOf course this man is guilty of "reckless homicide!"
ReplyDeleteHe didn't know his gun was loaded when he pointed it at a toddler? THAT he didn't check to make sure the gun was safe is a reckless action that caused a homicide.
That the man was "playing" with a real gun with a toddler who had a toy gun is just horribly wrong.
Felony child neglect. Really? That's the best they could do?
ReplyDeleteI don't believe it was any accident. Who in their right mind plays a "I point a loaded weapon at a toddler and he points his finger at me" game?
ReplyDeleteWow! Another organ donor. There are some thankful parents tonight.
ReplyDeleteI know nothing about guns, but it seems like there should be a little red light or something that lights up when a gun is loaded. Is that possible? Like, you know, when your phone has a message, or the rice cooker is steaming, or your curling iron is hot enough, you get a red light???? These life or death situations lol give you a warning. Seems a loaded gun should also, too.
Here's an idea before any of you people run your mouth how about you actually get the story straight he wasn't playing no games no nothing like that he love that little boy with everything that he had so get your story straight before you run your mouth the media twisted words around
ReplyDeleteYou're right, Some daddys show love for their kids in different ways. This one just happened to make the news for some strange reason.
DeleteYep - that's my home town. Grew up there and couldn't wait to get the fuck out. Headed for Alaska and never looked back.
ReplyDeleteFelony child neglect? Neglect indicates failure to carry out the actions necessary to provide for a child's care. Neglect is essentially passive by nature. Even with the adjective "felony," it does not seem adequate under the circumstances.
ReplyDeleteNeglect is about actions not taken, things not done, failure to provide food, shelter, medical care, and sustenance, the lack of vigilance against danger which poses a threat to a child's safety and well-being.
I confess I don't understand the law. The concept of neglect does not begin to encompass the tragedy that unfolded here.
Murder and manslaughter--surely these terms of assertive behaviors more accurately fit the actions which resulted in the violent end of the life of this tiny child.
Our legal system should include statutes which would prevent any person who committed the unbelievably stupid actions which took place here from ever owning a firearm again.
How did the US reach the point that this sort of tragedy is commonplace? Has it always happened this often, and we're only now becoming aware of it because of instant media? Is it a recent phenomena, and if so, why? Have people always treated powerful deadly weapons with such laxity that even the most innocent may lose their lives?
These questions keep me awake nights. My prayer is that younger, smarter people will enter law-making bodies at every level, and will use the examples of other developed nations to enact laws that will curb the gun lunacy which has established a deadly foothold in the USA.
