CNN removes reporter after she tweets that Israelis cheering the bombing of Gaza are "scum." Apparently no truth telling for CNN reporters.

Courtesy of the Huffington Post:

CNN has removed correspondent Diana Magnay from covering the Israeli-Palestinian conflict after she tweeted that Israelis who were cheering the bombing of Gaza, and who had allegedly threatened her, were “scum.”

“After being threatened and harassed before and during a liveshot, Diana reacted angrily on Twitter,” a CNN spokeswoman said in a statement to The Huffington Post.

“She deeply regrets the language used, which was aimed directly at those who had been targeting our crew," the spokeswoman continued. "She certainly meant no offense to anyone beyond that group, and she and CNN apologize for any offense that may have been taken.”

The spokeswoman said Magnay has been assigned to Moscow.

Magnay appeared on CNN Thursday from a hill overlooking the Israel-Gaza border. While she reported, Israelis could be heard near her cheering as missiles were fired at Gaza.

After the liveshot, Magnay tweeted: “Israelis on hill above Sderot cheer as bombs land on #gaza; threaten to ‘destroy our car if I say a word wrong’. Scum.” The tweet was quickly removed, but not before it had been retweeted more than 200 times.

I am not going to argue whether or not in her capacity as a CNN anchor Magnay should have chosen her words more carefully, but her feelings toward those who would celebrate the killing of innocent people with bombs seems quite reasonable.

These people are fighting a conflict based almost entirely on their differing religious views, and the fact that people are still killing each other over the belief that their faith is right while all others are false is shameful and should not be supported or excused by rational people.

People who cheer the bombing of little children are not scum; they are fucking thugs who need to be droned off the face of the earth. Magnay didn't go nearly far enough in her condemnation of these entitled "morans".

Were these the same bunch who were cheering the 9/11 crashes across the water from the world trade center?

Now if only the US media would pay as much attention to the cheering Israelis that were spotted across from Manhattan on 911 (along with the many other inconsistencies and scientific evidence that refutes the official government 911 story), we might make some progress on that front.....

There's always Palin's account. “I see all these smarty pants people on CNN saying that it was terrorism or a fire in the cockpit,” she explained to a bewildered Hannity, “but I don’t hear anyone talking about the God possibility. I mean what if they accidentally flew too high and got stuck in heaven?"

The pee pond got so mad. Thank you, Daily Currant!

While I don't disagree with your opinion of those who would cheer over the deaths of others, including children, I would like to point out that she was calling this particular group "scum" because they were threatening her and her crew if she didn't report the incident to their liking.

The Israeli/Palestinian conflict is an ongoing fight over land the British took from Palestine and gave to Israel. Before Israel was formed in 1948 the British sent a number of Rabbis to Palestine to look over the land and report back on it's suitability. The Rabbis returned and concluded that "the bride is beautiful but she's already married."

The religious difference does, however, add fuel to the flames.

And until people realize that is a major part of the hostilities (temporarily ignoring the religious aspect) and that the Israelites CONTINUE to steal the Palestinian lands, this war will continue.

As long as we in the U.S. don't slap the government of Israel with that fact, the war will continue.

And until the moderate Israelis there stand up and shout down the Jewish fanatics and ultra-orthodox, who keep pushing for more theft, this war will continue.

Until the LAND war is solved and stopped, there is no way the religious argument will ever be talked about!

Jerusalem should have been made an international city from the start, though. Too much history there from ALL sides.

Obviously it is a very tense and stressful situation and when you are personally threatened you now become part of the story and you are no longer an objective observer.

(Not that you were truly objective before but professionalism prevents showing your emotions, and the story is not about you. But now, You are involved, if just for a bit).

At some point, it's going to be brought home to both sides that they are going to have to find a way to live together. Period.

A continuous third-party intervention (i.e. the U.S.A.) is only going to prolong this arduous process.

    See for example: Northern Ireland.

I guess you forgot about the Palestinians cheering and clapping after the first 3 teens were kidnapped and killed.??
I guess you forgot about Hamas firing rockets from the houses of families and using children and women as human shields.

There are sick things on both sides. It's really sick how biased the reporting is.

Talk more about Hamas why don't you. They teach their kids to kill Jews from the minute they can talk. Yes the Israelis make mistakes too but the reporting is so one sided.

I notice Gryphen that this is the first time you have written? Where were your posts outraged at the cheering of the first 3 kids kidnapped and killed?? Where are your posts criticizing Hamas for firing rockets into Israel or putting their own kids in harms way? Where are the posts about Hamas using their kids as suicide bombers.?

So much biased anti-Israel, anti-Semitic one sided reporting.

How about the offers from Israel to give Gaza to the Palestinians if only they would recognize Israel's right to exist? Do you even know how many times that offer has been made. But Hamas's charter is to kill all Jews.

It's a complicated story and it's too bad you jumped on the easy bandwagon Gryphen. It's disappointing that you really don't get the history of the entire conflict.

As an Arab that was born in Palestine and left, I get Hamas is evil. Far more evil then the the far right Israelis. That's why I left and moved to the US. I have lived in Israel and in Gaza and it's sickening how warped the reporting is on both sides.

What about the parents of Israeli kids kidnapped and murdered? This is ok yet you focus only on this?
You are stupid if you don't see the killing on both sided.

""" I have lived in Israel and in Gaza and it's sickening how warped the reporting is on both sides."""

Yet you find it in your heart to just come here and defend the Israelis. Maybe it would be better for you to say,""yeah, those Isrealis cheering for the deaths are scum, just like any Hamas who would do the same.""

Reporters are not allowed to tell the truth about Israel
They are brutal occupiers of the west bank
They have been stealing land and resources from Palestine

So if your child was murdered, and you had to collect their body parts for burial, but an extremist group you were related to had previously committed a crime against the murderers of your child, that would be just fine with you?

The story itself caught the laughing on camera.
"While she reported, Israelis could be heard near her cheering as missiles were fired at Gaza." A piece of CNN footage proves what she tweeted wasn't a lie, so why is CNN apologizing to anyone who was offended by her tweet? Was it the word "Scum"? or do they just want to appear "unbiased"?
