Although he's not a hired security officer, George Zimmerman has been "patrolling" outside a Volusia County gun shop after it was recently robbed, according to the store owner.
Pat Johnson told Local 6 that Zimmerman is not an employee of his DeLand store Pompano Pat's, which sells firearms, ammunition and motorcycles.
Johnson said that Zimmerman, on his own accord, has been spotted outside the store since the robbery earlier this month. The thieves stole rifles worth up to $5,000 and two mini-bikes, according to Johnson.
Johnson added that although he knows Zimmerman, he has not hired him as a security officer.
DeLand police officers stopped to investigate why Zimmerman was parked in back of the store just after midnight on Sunday morning.
Video from the dash camera of the police cruiser shows a closer view of their exchange.
"Zimmerman informed me that he was sitting behind the business with the permission of the owner," the officer wrote in his incident report.
"Did Pat's hire you?" the officer asked him.
"No, no," Zimmerman responded.
"You're just doing this as a friend," the officer asked Zimmerman.
"He's a friend of mine," he replied.
It does not appear that the police officer asked Zimmerman if he was armed or not, but I think we all know the answer to that question.
You know you would think that any normal person who had shot and killed a teenager, and barely escaped prison for it, would avoid any potential armed confrontation like the plague.
I'm sorry I was thinking of a normal person, I should know better.
This guy should NEVER have access to a weapon again, and after an incident like this it should be clear to law enforcement in Florida that the guy has tasted blood and he wants more, and that every young black male in the vicinity is in danger as long as this lunatic is armed and on the loose.
I certainly don't want the store owner robbed again. It is wrong and we have laws against it and a person tried and convicted of the crime is subject to those punishments.
ReplyDeleteBut is Zimmerman going to go ahead and act as police, prosecutor, jury, judge, and executioner again? Possibly against a completely innocent person as he did to Trayvon?
Because that is against everything this country is supposed to stand for.
I wonder if Zimmerman somehow believes that if he kills someone in the middle of an actual attempted robbery, that the murder is automatically justified and that makes his previous murder justified also?
Either way, we know he believes in one thing; that when he decides to shoot and kill people, that makes it right and he should not have to suffer any consequences. He is a very dangerous man.
Zimmerman either robbed the store and was getting to rob it again, or he DOES work for Pat's and the guy is denying for whateve reason.
ReplyDeleteSorry, but while I dislike the man as much as the next person, there are other possibilities here. He might be telling the truth, as is the owner. He might be out searching for an excuse to kill again. He might just be crazy enough to think he can get away with it again. He might just believe it is his right to do it and there won't be any trouble if another person dies. All sorts of possibilities.
Delete@10:05 all sort of possibilities
DeleteYou can do better than that list. You left out unicorns fart rainbows.
He's hanging around a gun store not hanging around an ex-girlfriend. It's a small step, but it's the thought that counts.
ReplyDeleteMy white-retired-cop friend knows others just like Zimmerman & he says they get ready at night to "bang" or police the neighborhood from "gang-bangers" & he doesn't see anything wrong with it. Needless to say, he's as far from me as I can keep him.
ReplyDeleteI'm sure Zimmerman is of the same mindset. The low-life-bastard.
My boyfriend is also a retired cop, and he knows lots of people out to kill or "police" the streets. In fact a security guard friend of his "volunteers" on his nights off--the guy has no life & every woman he's ever dated dumps him.
DeleteOf course my boyfriend says he's not like that, but after the Zimmerman case, I think those people think God put them here to "take care" of shit with their guns.
Trayvon would have been charged with felony assault and battery, possibly worse, if he had not been shot in self defense. That doesn't qualify as innocent. Where was his dad again all night long? Seeing as how Trayvon was sent to live with his dad due to his uncontrollable behavior and suspension from school, you'd think his dad would have been spending all his available time working on setting the kid straight in life.
ReplyDeleteTravyon was rescued from a felony assault charge. Lucky kid.
Delete9:40 A 17 year old can't go to the store for a pack of skittles? Get real, Zimmerman is the criminal and you Bigots don't want to admit it. You only see what you want to see, reality is not important to you.
DeleteWhy? Because he was black and Zimmerman is not? Felony assault? Had he lived, Zimmerman would have been hard-pressed to prove that Tray attacked HIM first. George was bigger, older, and had no business following him. Period. And had he not had a gun, I doubt there would have been any altercation at all. I guess you think Trayvon should have gotten down on his knees and done whatever George said? You know, instead of being uppity and trying to protect himself.
DeleteZimmerman murdered that young man.
DeleteAnon @9:40 AM is typical of the ammosexuals defending Zimmerman.
DeleteThats right folks, insert your racist fantasies instead of looking at the police reports and witness testimony. Still waiting on that federal trial.... Still waiting on that civil trial......
DeleteAnon @9:40
DeleteDid it ever occur to you that TM hit GZ and was fighting with GZ because he saw GZ had a gun and was trying to defend his own life? Stand Your Ground applies to TM too. By law, TM was allowed to use force, even deadly force, if he reasonably thought his life was threatened (or was in danger of significant bodily harm), and, if I was confronted by a guy who I knew had been following me in a car and then on foot and then I saw he had a gun, yeah, I'd fight like heck and probably do many of the same things TM did.
Can you say Trayvon Martin did not see Zimmerman's gun? Funny, in the video 'walk thru' GZ says he was reaching for his phone and then TM attacked him (GZ says other things in other testimonies).
Maybe TM though GZ was reaching for his gun, which we know he did have.
I'd hit a strange guy, who had been following me, reaching towards his pocket, for my own self-protection.
My point is, TM had eveyr right to feel he was endangered in his situation and to protect himself under FL law. It seems he did so, but for the fact that he could not actually testify because GZ killed him, TM's side of the story can never be told.
Stand Your Ground laws are great - if you kill the other person so they cannot tell their side of the story.
Is that what we, as a people, think justice is? I sure don't.
Trayvon was walking home as HE was assaulted by Zimmerman, once he was assaulted he had every right to try and defend himself. I pity you, I really do. Your ignorance and hate against a child who was murdered because he was black makes you the lowest life form on earth.
Delete12:10 that is a lot of maybes and suppositions, not based on any evidence or testimony of course.
DeleteJust to be clear though- you keep mentioning 'stand your ground laws'- the 'stand your ground' law was never introduced or argued by the defense in this case, it was simply a case of self defense since Zimmerman was on the ground getting beaten and could not physically retreat. Get your facts straight.
The only people who keep bringing up his race are you imaginative good folks 12:51, I only bring up the evidence. By all means continue your fantasies and pretend everyone is racist but you, and you can keep discussing the color of skin, I'll keep discussing the facts.
Delete12:51 there is zero evidence that Zimmerman assaulted Trayvon. Zero. Get that thru your thick head. All the testimony given accounts that Trayvon jumped Zimmerman and started beating him.
DeleteOnly idiots with no critical thinking skills think Trayvon died because he assaulted Zimmerman. The OJ jury got it wrong and so did the Zimmerman jury. We have evidence of one of these idiots here. He pops up from time to time. He is a little boy.
DeleteI think a gunshot wound is evidence of an assault on a body, in fact, it was a lethal assault.
Delete2:02 what is your point, no-one is arguing that he died from a gunshot after attacking Zimmerman. 1:45, if you read the autopsy, you would know that Trayvon had an abrasion on one hand and a scar on the other, not much but more than 'a nary a mark', as well as eye witness testimony that he was on top of Zimmerman throwing punches when he was shot. Throw your little boy insults all you want, it just shows you are frustrated because the facts don't support your fantasy storyline.
DeleteWatch Zimmerman's walk-through and where he gestures to his gun, BEHIND HIM, over his Rt. kidney, so please tell me again, how the hell did Trayvon see this gun and reach for it in the manner GZ later said he did? The only time GZ told the truth was when he spoke about where his gun was and there was no way TM could have seen it from the position he was allegedly in according to GZ. How and why did GZ think TM was going to stay there and wait while he allegedly reached for the phone and called the cops? I think he already had his gun out and thought he could hold TM there while he called the cops. When TM tried to get away it occurred to GZ that he had no right to pull a gun on TM. He killed him to keep him quiet, no other reason. He was looking for trouble that night because he was pissed off that his wife had left him the previous night. He hadn't been going to Target to do their weekly shopping after cooking dinner for the two of them as he claimed to the cops. His father also told the cops the same thing. If he'd lie about something so inconsequential, he had a good reason for doing it. He didn't want the cops to figure out his frame of mind. The guy is a loose cannon, ready to explode again and will do so, sooner or later. I only hope that whoever he confronts this time around will be ready for him and that GZ ends up in a body bag, not the person who is the target of his rage.
DeleteHow many of his defenders are familiar with his answering the door to a UPS delivery with a gun in his hand, claiming he didn't know who was at the door, despite the recognizable brown truck parked in front of the house, easily visible from any window? If all of his past had been able to come in, he never would have walked.

Your willful refusal to look at the facts is shameful. Just shameful. Along with the followup comments. So disgusting. Nice twisting of reality. Zimmerman got out of truck. Zimmerman did not return to the truck as instructed. Zimmerman stalked Trayvon. The only thing Trayvon did was try to defend himself against an armed, murderous, thug.
Why are facts shameful Nefer? You seem to like twisting reality yourself, of all the things Zimmerman did that you listed- none are illegal. You might not like his actions, I don't either, but they were within his rights. He also has no obligation to follow the advice of a dispatcher. You are substituting stalk for follow, and of all the bullshit- Trayvon jumped and attacked Zimmerman- he was not 'defending himself' and you well know it. If he felt threatened he should have gotten off the phone with his girlfriend and called the police.
Delete3:36. We are not to take tbe law into our hands. Nor are we to chase down and kill someone we think is suspicious. Try again
DeleteGosh, I bet Trayvon's family wished he had gotten away with an abrasion instead of a fatal gunshot.
DeleteThe only reason GZ walked was from a Florida jury. There were NO bushes Trayvon jumped out from because GZ made it all up. GZ instigated it therefore Trayvon protected himself. Fuck GZ
DeleteZimmerman is a predator. Always has been and always will be.
ReplyDeleteZimmerman was a cowering puss before he got his carry permit. Just like 90% of Sarah supporters.
DeleteCowering pusses donated money to him because he shot to death a minor child.
Zimmerman needs money. Kill another minor and the money will flow in again.
Of course, Zee will have to shoot the boogeyman when he's not looking this time
In the back.
In the back!
just like sarah..........
"The thieves stole rifles worth up to $5,000 and two mini-bikes, according to Johnson."
ReplyDeleteJohnson doing his bit to make sure there is a steady supply of bad guys with guns to add reality to the NRA narrative.
zimmerman's gonna get his, either by his own hand or someone else's
ReplyDeletebet on it
And there you have it. Thank you, Florida, it's just a matter of time until he kills again.
ReplyDeleteWhat is so irritating is how this story is presented. There are so many holes in it and the 'journalist' who reported this story really didn't do his homework.
ReplyDeleteWhat normal people want to know about this story is if the owner actually asked George Zimmerman to park there and watch. That's not implied in the story, nor is it confirmed.
The story leaves us not knowing whether Zimmerman was just a friend of this man, and liked him so much that he decided to keep an eye on his store, without consent and for free.
Was it without consent or was it? If a friend does something for 'free, that that mean doing it without cash, but doing it for merchandise? Maybe they had a deal where George could get some new ammo for services rendered.
It all sounds weird. The police officer was noted saying that Zimmerman had the permission from the owner. Why doesn't the reporter try to find out if the owner GAVE permission?
I personally wonder, why the cop did not search his truck. IMHO, it probably was Zimmerman who had burglarized the place earlier, and was casing the place again for his next heist.
ReplyDeleteI mean, he supposedly has no income, yet he lives in a pretty expensive place and has to pay for his truck and the mandatory insurance. How else but with fenced goods can he make a living, since nobody wants to hire him?
I live in FL and if I knew a business was using GZ as any sort of official or unofficial security guard, I'd never, ever patronize that place.
ReplyDeletePat Johnson had better make public, really fast, that he in no way asked, or condoned GZ to be 'watching' his property, no matter how well intentioned that watching may have been.
The second something happens and goes wrong on or near his business, if Pat Johnson is not on record for having tried to get GZ removed from watching his property, he (Johnson) will be - and rightfully so - implicated in any lawsuit involving GZ.
Any business owner should know that. If you 'accept' (i.e., not refuse) someone's services, whether they are paid or not, you are still going to be held responsible for what happens 'on their watch' and you will be the one who will have to spend your time and perhaps money in defense of your position on the issue (no matter how right it may be, you will still have to spend your time and possibly money).
Johnson needs to not only publicly disavow what GZ is doing, he needs to follow up with either trespassing or stalking charges against GZ if he (GZ) does not cease and desist the unwanted surveillance.
I feel sorry for Mr. Johnson. It sounds like he didn't ask for this, and to do the right thing requires a lot of work and time on his part to protect his business.
Paying to install a video recording security system or making any other type of security upgrade to his business will cost less money (and be tax deductible and take significantly less time!) than a GZ-involved lawsuit would.
Seems a no-brainer to me.
MarvinM
I would bet that Zimmerman, contrary to what he might claim, actually hopes that someone tries to rob the store so he has an excuse to kill another person. He seems determined to place himself in situations that allow him to use his weapons and seems to feel a tremendous sense of power from getting away with murder, literally.
ReplyDeleteI guess one murder just wasn't enough to satisfy him.
People will go back to what they were doing. even sp, trying to make it big but quits or kills it in whatever way herself.
ReplyDeleteZimmerman was out to kill again.
ReplyDeleteHe IS CREEPY.
ReplyDeleteHoowee, what could possibly go wrong?
ReplyDeleteHe will kill again. The only question is if it will be a child or a woman. He isn't man enough to go up against a man.
ReplyDeleteIt might very well be himself, by his own hand, or that of a like-minded vigilante.
DeleteThey'll nail him the next time.
ReplyDeleteJust like O.J.
Just be patient and hope he doesn't murder someone when he does get caught.
Didn't he hook up with Casey Anthony yet?
ReplyDeleteFloridah is for murderers.
This post bought to you by the florida tourism board.
Zimmerman got away with murder once and he's too stupid to realize it. He will kill again. It's only a matter of time.
